To me, the most terrifying and scary part is how he brutally massacres the toys, cause he knows there alive, and essentially beat their internal organs, they didn't move out of determination to keep Andy safe, this is sounding sadder and sadder when we realise that the toys cry in mania and have essentially gone overboard after Andy died. Woody reveals himself to be alive after probably due to his loss of remorse, and his best source of trust in the world. Why is meatcanyon eliciting emotion and tragedy from me and why am I feeling horrible for these nightmares?

The animation and character design is disturbingly genius as usual, but it cannot be overstated how much the voice acting contributes to the tone of these clips, I know Meat is an animator first and foremost, but damn, that's some great voice acting as-well.

@@GaSapienza Well they always add on a twist that they do have malevolent intent at the end of the day. But even if they are alive he was destroying their bodies so Andy did force their hand. Which they all did apologize and explain the situation to Andy as he died and had tried to not show themself until they were forced to. It’s just an example of curiosity killed the cat as Andy wanted to know if they were really alive, it just didn’t turn out to be as good as he hoped.

Yeah that’s kinda the really messed up part of the story. The toys didn’t move or do anything when Andy started attacking because there love for him was so much that they didn’t care about losing there lives. Woody basically had no choice. It was either him and his friends all die or sacrifice the one they all loved the most.
That's what I love about this. It'd be easy to just, like, make the toys all turn out to be demonic monsters or whatever, but it's on whole other level when you make the horror feel personal and character driven like this.
I always come back to this one because i just feel for Andy. Like think about it. Imagine you being a kid, you're in love with the idea of magic and fantasy stuff and hanging out with your favorite cartoon characters. And one day you see all your favorite toys walking around and talking with the neighbor. Now imagine you told someone what you saw. No one would believe you, you might end up in therapy. You spend your whole life knowing the truth, with the world telling you you're crazy. Then finally, after years of self doubt, you confront the toys in a fit of desperate rage. You can see it on Andy's face in the beginning and hear it in his voice. Like deep down he's just BEGGING woody from the bottom of his soul to move. You just want to know what you saw was real. That thing people said was impossible and that you knew was possible was true. You go to the extreme to force the toys to move....and they do. Andy's reaction to Woody standing up hit me hard. It was like his wildest dream had finally come true, only to be told the cost of fulfilling that dream. That's fucking tragic.
i like the aggressiveness in some of his videos, its all down to personal preference but i think some of his videos wouldnt be the same without it ( except for his bluey one, i hated it because dogs are one of my favorite animals. and mine had just passed away about a week before it was uploaded)

Yeah that’s kinda the really messed up part of the story. The toys didn’t move or do anything when Andy started attacking because there love for him was so much that they didn’t care about losing there lives.
Woody basically had no choice. It was either him and his friends all die or sacrifice the one they all loved the most.
That's what I love about this. It'd be easy to just, like, make the toys all turn out to be demonic monsters or whatever, but it's on whole other level when you make the horror feel personal and character driven like this.

I always come back to this one because i just feel for Andy. Like think about it. Imagine you being a kid, you're in love with the idea of magic and fantasy stuff and hanging out with your favorite cartoon characters. And one day you see all your favorite toys walking around and talking with the neighbor. Now imagine you told someone what you saw. No one would believe you, you might end up in therapy. You spend your whole life knowing the truth, with the world telling you you're crazy. Then finally, after years of self doubt, you confront the toys in a fit of desperate rage. You can see it on Andy's face in the beginning and hear it in his voice. Like deep down he's just BEGGING woody from the bottom of his soul to move. You just want to know what you saw was real. That thing people said was impossible and that you knew was possible was true. You go to the extreme to force the toys to move....and they do. Andy's reaction to Woody standing up hit me hard. It was like his wildest dream had finally come true, only to be told the cost of fulfilling that dream. That's fucking tragic.

The twist was on-brand while not being as aggressive as some other Meat Canyon productions. Great short.
i like the aggressiveness in some of his videos, its all down to personal preference but i think some of his videos wouldnt be the same without it ( except for his bluey one, i hated it because dogs are one of my favorite animals. and mine had just passed away about a week before it was uploaded)
@@Probably_Mason I would agree fundamentally, but I like some element of diversity in his horror genre. You don't need a sledgehammer and chainsaw in every horror flick; there are far more psychological levers that can be used.
