- One of the few times a Big Daddy splash did not result immediately in a fall or knockout - Rocco makes a full recovery (against Rigby of course) and ends up getting splashed again for his trouble.

kent Walton, was such a great commentator, never needed anyone else.
Postings, flying drop kicks, forearms, suplexes, piledrivers, public warnings...
now that is sport.
No it's fake drama scripted nonsense. Look up "kayfabe."
Rococo was an excellent wrestler and an absolute gentleman
A great find Arthur. you amaze me. John Quinn a really nice guy who stayed near Rhyl for a while but tough. Mark Rocco THE best heal along McManus and Kendo. Tommy Rugby was just used by Dale Martin and Shirley.........well........ answers on a postcard.
He was crap sitting on his tag rope using his fat belly that was not wrestling
Tommy Rigby had amazing capacity to absorb punishment...
The only good thing about Quinn was his entrance music,The Mighty Quinn by Manfred Mann
Arthur this was show on Cup Final World Of Sport in 1979 is that correct
Yes. Arsenal actually managed to win that one.
from 8.38 minutes great to see rigby squashed
Rocco and Quinn had awesome boots on
How would of Big Daddy fared against Goldberg? Like to see The Jackhammer on Daddy
The Big Daddy “splash” was shit! He goes onto his knees and then lies on his opponent - at least Quinn’s was a proper one!
Yes, he always landed on his hands and knees and lowered himself down. If he'd done it properly, he would have put his opponents in hospital every time. Heels used to get paid a certain amount and then extra if they agreed to be splashed by Daddy in the fight script. Danger money as it could go wrong if Daddy mistimed it.
sorry 4hat should've said Tommy Rigby
Say what you want about Big Daddy he did put bums on seats when he appeared
Hated Big Daddy
Not only so predictable but self absorbed. I swear, he wrote the script to his bouts
Yes he would have a hand in writing the script. Some of it is only loosely scripted and they improvise but the falls and finishing moves are agreed and worked out, even practiced before the bout. Also heavily scripted is the offstage drama. The music, and the grudges, and the challenges.
I lovely friendly guy admired by wrestlers the world over, that's Marc Rocco. Big Daddy, not so much
big daddy always had to win didn't he?but then again he was the brother of the crabtrees.
Half brother I think I heard but yes oddly was called Crabtree
He won because it was in the script.
The old ladies where funny
Man in blue is that the same man with spit the dog 🐕
It's not Bob Carolgees no, but the resemblance has been noted before!
Ward was a useless gut bucket!
Even as a child, I never liked Big Daddy. I preferred the smaller, faster wrestlers. Big Daddy bored me.
Max Ward a sh*t referee
Quinn could beat daddy blindfolded and his hands and his legs tied together he was a waste of space using his fat belly and sat on his tag rope that's why british wrestling died
Everyone thought Quinn was a big mouthed Yank, he wasn't, he was a big mouthed Canadian instead
