@@hazelangus, I did 0 research for this case. All I knew, She's accused of hitting him & Conspiracy theory defense. I know how they got to conspiracy theory. I don't know how they got to a murder charge. 🤦♀️
Do we even know if he’s dead yet? Has a medical professional declared him dead yet?!? All I can remember was it was snowing and none of these people have heard of a designated driver!
The prosecution hasn’t rested their case have they? Also, the reason they and the jury has to go through this is because the defense has blamed the family with John’s murder and quite frankly I haven’t heard anything to prove that happened either.
@@34canderson34 no shit Sherlock, I don’t give a shit about the jury. I would assume John Okeefes family would like to know what happened to their son/brother/uncle. The defense has been putting stuff out there for over a year and two of those things fell completely flat. 1. The dog, can be had at anytime, was made out to have been “gotten rid of” by them, that was false. 2. Half of Karen’s taillight was not just cracked as the defense was saying, it was completely missing BEFORE the cops ever took the car to the impound. That was in the Lieutenants dash cam when he went to give notice/check on the kids.
Just joining the rewatch crew on this morning’s testimony now, but at this point after watching all the previous court days, I don’t know anything about poor John’s death beyond a reasonable doubt … but I 100% know it was snowing, the Boston Murdaughs had built and owned that home for two generations and then inexplicably sold it, people sitting up in bed for hours doing nothing in the middle of the night while also having (but not suffering with) migraines isn’t odd, people are often being intimate on top of their unlocked phones and reading glasses and somehow not breaking them (but also butt dialing), and donut deliveries in a blizzard aren’t unusual at all… just leave them in an unlocked car. It’s fine. They won’t become cold or stale or anything. Red solo cups are acceptable containers for blood evidence gathering- they seem sterile enough. Missed calls can answer themselves, early morning missed calls don’t cause alarm, and there’s no reason to walk outside if you see multiple police vehicles and an ambulance in your front yard when you wake up. It’s no big deal. This case is incredibly odd and honestly unbelievable.
and don't forget that leaf blowers are great and easy to control and the best thing to secure a crime scene in a "blizzard" and the sally port is also called temporary evidence locker!
Yeah... late night drunk party where his kids leave in the early morning hours, he wakes up with emergency vehicles everywhere and isn't even a little worried it could be his kids or friends in danger?
@@goodolearkygal5746 exactly. I see a plume of smoke rising from anywhere near my side of town, and I wonder “Is my house on fire?” I see police cars and ambulances going anywhere with sirens blaring in my town, and I’m doing mental mapping trying to think where are my kids vs where are those vehicles going? If I had known my daughter and nephew had left after having a few drinks around midnight, I would’ve rushed outside immediately to see if they’d fallen, passed out, been hit by a snow plow or car, etc. If I had an unusual early morning missed call from a friend, I’m calling and texting her immediately when I wake up. But these people are absolutely unbothered. It’s very strange.

Not even just corruption but bad practice, untrained and incompetent. I am biased against American police I think this is a common result. But come on! Not even the bare minimum fucks to give.
The ONLY reason for all the “amnesia” is they have something they are trying to hide… guilty. I pray they are all brought to justice and the truth comes out. This town needs to be saved from these corrupt people, it’s scary.
Ya Brian’s like “I wish they came in”. But then I’d like “I couldn’t do anything by the time I woke up and didn’t want to get involved at that point.” Like no one else in this department has proper practice at all so why did he draw the line for rules? Recused but did an interview with friends in a group. They Don’t investigate murder but don’t even know how to care for a crime scene. Had phone calls but didn’t pick any of them up. So many funny things gonna on huh.
I have 2 theories about Tristan. 1 because he was never interviewed he really doesn't remember much about that night as it's never been fresh in his mind from questioning. Or 2. He knows something about what happened and is like, "I'm not lying for your family, but I also won't say anything incriminating."
Also, just because he wasn't formally interviewed before then doesn't mean he hasn't been coached, indoctrinated, persuaded, manipulated in all the time before.
How does everything seem to come back somehow to Jen McCabe. Like she keeps popping up with most of the witnesses on the stand. I can’t wait for her to testify 😮
Almost every witness has had some interaction with Jen McCabe, including the the police and first responders. After all, Kevin Albert is Nicole’s brother-in-law and works for the Canton PD. SHE is Nicole’s kid sister. Brian has known her since she was about six years old. I wouldn’t be surprised that she’s around the same age as Kevin..
My concern is how there seems no concern for their morals by telling lies ( even by omitting information) that could potentially get a person convicted of MURDER!
@@whyamiheredlb- Absolutely. The Albert gang. My theory is they’re all covering for Colin. Nobody actually saw him leave the house and into a car with his cousin Allie. He’s the only one who had beef with John O’Keefe.
Judge Bev will never let anyone understand what is happening here. As an ICU former nurse for 30 yrs, the Autopsy photos are horrific. Officer John O’Keefe was beaten to death. I have taken care of many patients found down. I actually feel sick when I viewed the photo’s. I want to hear from Trauma Nurses from Emergency Room. I live in the next town from Canton. Following from the date it happened. Thanks Emily for covering this case.
That's what the defense should've included. They should've shown the bites on the arm, the rear of the car, and the dog and said to the jury "Ladies and Gentlemen, according to the Commonwealth, these wounds were caused by this car and NOT this dog. Look at these wounds and look at the car and the dog and think to yourself how this IS NOT a dog bite"
@@theroachden6195 Karen's defense could still possibly do something like this when the CW rests. But each point must be developed and built upon to create an explanation of John's death from evidence they present through testimony, reports and experts in the defense chief case. An expert may in fact testify to what you assert.
This must be the first case ever where the defense has presented their case first, and the prosecution has been able to lead witnesses by rules of procedure
The Commonwealth is more less serving as the defense (for the Alpert Clan). The only side serving as anything approaching a prosecution is Ms Read’s legal team.
@@carolinahammer9480 aren't Yanetti and Jackson both former prosecutors? xD (Jackson worked in the same juristiction Emily did, I think? and Yanetti in the exact courthouse they're having trial in right now, or so I heard) So maybe they just dipped back into that... But yes, it's really weird how Lally is defending the Alberts and has seemingly forgotten about his job to prove Karen Read did it.
I'm here questioning the strategy to call a witness who has nothing to contribute for prosecution (other than verifying alibi of other witnesses) and then defense gets to cross examine and introduce doubt and alternate theories, and show things like the outside basement door leading so easily and it of sight of the house to the front lawn that we hadn't heard about at all before then. Would it be harder for defense to call the witness and have to ask them non leading questions? Or can you refuse to testify for defense? Then why call ppl like Caitlin Albert who contributed nothing but defense wants to talk to?
It feels like this black blob was added because of 2 reasons. This young girl wanted to be significant part of the trial, and the prosecution was floundering and needed something. I think it was a big backfire, because who believes this now? What investigator would not have interviewed every single human on that property within hours of the death? Why do you wait nearly a year to interview some of the occupants of the home where the “murder” took place?
Also if you’re drunk how much will you remember? And she didn’t say anything till 8 months later after the defense publicly said they had no witnesses that saw a body on the lawn.
Amazing that the most convincing evidence came from a person that investigator didn’t talk to in a reasonable timeframe but presumably talked to everyone and heard everything about this case with everything slowly tainting their memory
Omg!!!! Yes!!! I just commented that she wanted to “help” the Alberts…. Girl, they aren’t gonna help you! What the heck is the magic” with this family. Brian senior is full of himself… Nagle and Katie seem like they want to “save” these slimeballs… they are wannabes
No police officer worth his salt would conduct themselves like the police involved in this case local to state. I simply cannot believe they never had training in evidence collection, preservation, and security and investigation procedures.
This case reminds me of why I started loving Emily. I joined with the Depp trial and I loved when she would get frustrated with Elain and call her out on the BS. Now it’s Lollie! Lol 😂
If you asked me what I did on September 10th, 2001- I couldn’t tell you a thing. But ask me what I did on 9/11 - I can tell you everything. I remember what I wore to work that day. My point is that when something momentous happens - the day imprints. A dead guy on your lawn is momentous. I’m blown away from all the “I don’t remember” answers that I’m hearing from people inside the house. All these young people LIVE with their phones in their hands. It’s easy to time check rides, etc. Texts were surely sent. “On my way”. “I’m here”. Etc. These witnesses are highly suspect.
For sure. As soon as you heard something happened outside your lawn, or friends house and you were there that night i think your brain goes through everything and is like oh, this happened then this and wait, let me check my phone, yeah she left then. At least thats me, I run through everything in my mind. Even if someone loses something I go through every memory surrounding that and try to remember what I can.
And a police officer at that. Who 'ought' to know, about preserving evidence and testimonies. Makes you wonder what qualifications you have to pass to become LE in Canton. As it would appea, a degree in lying seems to be top of the list.
Interesting you say that bc I lost my mom suddenly and tragically and I find all these witnesses having crystal clear memories highly suspicious. Especially since they also claim it wasn’t very important to them. I explain the night my mom died as something I remember everything and yet nothing at all. I have no idea what I was wearing or what she was wearing etc etc. Now who is believable is Karen and her reaction and even if she may have somehow tried to deduce if she could’ve done that to John and yet be totally innocent. I felt like I caused my moms death or like I could’ve done more etc.
With presented evidence, at this point, I’m just going to assume Mrs. McCabe and Miss Chloe did it in the basement with a dumbbell until Tim Curry tells me otherwise.
This is funny and true, and at the end a very important man to 2 children is dead!!! I am a palled what a poor job they did investigating it and it’s compound by how poorly they are prosecuting it. If they are prosecuting the wrong person. It can’t be anything other than a shit show. I’m beginning to believe their prosecuting the wrong person. I am still trying to keep an open mind, but I see nothing that points toward Karen Read.
At the beginning of trial I was thinking that it was far-fetched to believe the judge would be doing anyone a favor in Canton. Then the trial starts and I can’t believe what she’s excluding. Uh…still wondering what the hell happened to Chloe! Why was the witness, the Albert wife, allowed to go and not forced to answer WHO she gave the info about the dog being in Vermont to??? Because it hasn’t been addressed since everyone thought they had no info on the whereabouts of the dog…what is going on?!
I find it extremely odd that Julie saw “a large object” by the flagpole, noticed it out loud to the occupants of the car (especially to Jen McCabe) and then after John’s body was discovered, Jen McCabe didn’t immediately think of that moment and tell the investigators that Julie saw something at 2:00 am. Plus no one else saw this and Caitlin left around the same time. But Julie didn’t notice this when she spoke to her brother. Very odd. Edit: Posted the first part before Julie’s cross, glad to see I wasn’t the only one who found that strange!! I wondered why she would have a screen shot of the text with her brother, so Jen McCabe asked her to screenshot it and send it to her????? Can’t wait for her testimony, it is going to be insane! I am also bummed that the defense didn’t ask Julie why, if she had “ put two and two together” she didn’t immediately contact the Canton police department and tell them what she had seen. IMO, that is what anyone should do if they have information that is important to a case.
I mean, if at the time, she could easily have thought that there wasn’t much need to tell anybody. The guy had been found and was dead. It’s not like she could go back in time and save his life. It’s not like she saw him killed. She wasn’t interviewed right away. I would likely have not called in, figuring nothing I could say would have any bearing on the case.
@@nitpickersheadliceremoval3805 I’m in the ACAB camp and do not trust the police to write anything down or do proper investigations. This case is not helping that perception.

Major inconsistencies: BA Jr said he looked out the window and saw lots of snow on the ground and tire tracks in the snow by the flagpole. Sarah Levinson: it was barely snowing and had just started sticking at 2am when we left. Caitlin Albert: it was snowing a lot and I didn’t want to get snowed in so I left at 2am Caitlin boyfriend: there was 1-2 inches on the ground when I picked her up.
I literally watch everything at 2x and even then, I find it too slow sometimes, depending on how slow someone is speaking, so when EDB has it at 1.25x, it's 2.5x for me and it's very satisfying. :P

The WTF that still kills me is how everyone in that house was at the very least cop adjacent, and yet no one looks around them as they walk. I have never known a cop who would ever not take a view over their surroundings, and they taught the same to their kids. Even if they felt totally safe and didn't think that they should do a scan, you'd think they would at least admire the pretty snow. But nope, this entire family walks with their heads down or straight ahead. I can't buy it. Nor can I buy that a cop doesn't lock his home. If this was true, it's a miracle no one in the family was the victim of a crime
Agree! No one was aware of their surroundings at all. Higgins was a firefighter and then atf agent and a former service member. He did see or hear anything. All so strange. Every cross examination they are on the defense. Why ?
I can accept Albert didn’t lock his home. If we’re to believe everyone is covering for the Albert family, and with small towns as they are, I think it’d be well known that you don’t fk with that house, or the people in it.
If someone was Injured in my lawn, my LEO husband would be at least asking what's up and if there is anything he could do. At no point would he say he didn't want to be involved. I can understand not wanting to step on another agency's investigation, but there are ways to help without being an ass.
I have never been so livid as I am today with Julie’s testimony!!! Even after putting two & two together the next day she didn’t call the police! Omg I am swearing & my boss just brought in water!

I know most of us are watching for entertainment, but I think most observers care that a seemingly nice, innocent man's life was prematurely ended. People care more about his death than the average person's death, even with the infamy of his trial.
I know understand the jury question about "Do you have any strong beliefs, or have been exposed to seeing beliefs from friends or relatives, about operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol?" and other questions about drinking and driving, during jury selection.
@tiffany.Elizabeth unless you’re Julie Albert…then you go ahead and run out for hot coffee and doughnuts in the middle of a snow storm to drop them off so they can sit stale and cold while everyone sleeps.
I've watch 5 days of testimony and have heard Karen Reed's name possibly twice. BUT I know everything there is to know about White Claws, birthday shoe choices, high school trips to a beach and graduation years.
Yeah, it really seems that way at this point. Like his questions should be who are you, what town do you live or where did you live 2 years ago, how do you know John O Keefe or Karen Read, what did you see, hear, or do the night of, day before, days after? What info do you have on his death? (Summarized). But everyone since the first day or two who knew John or were working on him are connected to Alberts and today and maybe yesterday like didn't even see him outside the Waterfall (so they say). But it seems to be covering so the bases of so you saw this Albert person the whole time and did they leave or whatever and now everyone was in the house the whole time and yup we all saw each other and nope we didn't see the victim or the defendant and our dog was definitely locked upstairs and wasn't downstairs. Why does any of that matter if Karen killed him? Should be, oh, Brian Jr saw a car there at the same time as Julie went out but we no one else came in and later I saw tire tracks and did you look outside and see anyone on the lawn after that? No I didn't look, ok thanks. Caitlin, did you see John or Karen, yes at waterfall, then did they come to your house? No they did not. Did you see his lifeless body outside on the lawn after the defendant may have hit him? No I did not, oh ok, why did we ask you up here to talk anyway, you have is nothing and now ppl are wondering about you in some photos with a paramedic who hear the witness confess, this seems strange? It would be like Creighton calling all of Busters classmates to say Connor Cook was definitely at his house or bar all the night of the murders and didn't leave and definitely has his gun locked up at home near his truck which was out of gas so he definitely couldn't have gone anywhere with it to do anything. Ok, now I'm wondering why you're harping on Connor Cook so much and any inconsistencies or suspicious behavior makes me question things.

I have questions…. 1. When she said she put two and two together - and didn’t tell anyone - did someone tell her to not tell? Her parents? Jj? Anyone? The attorney did not ask specifically. 2. She was asked did JJ say she was an investigator? Answer was no but did JJ use different words? Maybe the exact word investigator was not used. I hate snow but I absolutely LOVE it when it's like midnight and snowing and everything is quite and peaceful and you can hear the snowflakes like tiny bells. It's so nice
Going to keep this going What I've learned from the prosecution: - It was snowing - It was Brian's birthday - There were doughnuts What I've learned from the defence: - Red solo cups and random unsealed paper bags are adequate for collecting evidence - People don't need to be interviewed after a body is found (informal conversations will do!) and when they are interviewed it is months and months later - No one saw anything, no one talks about anything - Brian Snr got rid of his house, his dog, his phone and job all after the incident - No one knows who answered their phones at weird hours (Which appear to have been answered!) - No one is close to anyone (until they are) - SOMEONE SAW SOMETHING AND DIDN'T TELL ANYONE! Just sat on that information and never told anyone they saw a dark object lying in the snow. I hope Prosecution is not relying on this witness who saw a car behaving odd and something odd in the snow all while drunk.
Anyone who has driven in snow or watched someone drive in snow knows that cars are odd. Lol I once watched someone repeatedly do donuts because they couldn’t just accept that they were stuck

Let me break this trial down for you guys in layman's terms: Think of a sports league - any sports league out there (NFL,NBA,MLB,NHL), Now think of the absolute worst team in one of those leagues. That is literally how BAD the prosecution's witnesses are. I have never in my life witnessed such a sham. I don't understand how this case was allowed to happen. But of course, when the referee (judge) is clearly trying to rig the game in favor of one team, you understand why. The defence is playing a beautiful strategy and they barely have to try. This case isn't even about Karen Read anymore, the prosecution is literally spending all their time defending their witnesses. That explains everything you need to know. What a disgrace!!!
How can you claim you sleep with you phone because you have 5 kids, yet don't answer the phone when you get a call at 2:30 in the morning and then again at 6:30 in the morning twice. I thought the last person who testified and answered nope to question about doing something about the blob she said she saw, was very disrespectful.
That's actually a great question, about not answering the phone! I wish it would have been asked! Unless he watches naughty stuff until he's asleep with the phone in his hands and just didn't want to admit that on the stand. 🤷🏼♂️
It's subtle, but very noticeable that Bev never seems to use the word 'overruled' when there's an objection from Lally. Instead she'll either "allow that one" or she will ask the witness the same question. She only says 'sustained' when it's against the Defense. Interesting for anyone keeping score of the Overruled and Sustained judgments for each side. 🤔
2.28.35 "Is your memory exhausted?" This was a ridiculous question by Lally, and Yanetti uses it on every witness since, just to irritate the judge, because she would never have allowed the defence to ask it.
@@MaryBethDesjardins It's borderline argumentative. So the judge let it slide. The defense would benefit from argumentative statements as the point of the defense is to drive the case to their side of conspiracy. It's smart
I thought for a second after after Junior we were at least gone have a timeframe after Julie. But nope…case solved…John was never even there! Black SUV showed up and left…no one ever got out. What exactly was the point of her? I don’t know why they are presenting all of these witnesses that weren’t even asked questions in the investigation related to charging Karen Read.
My perception of this case changes daily for sure. It scares me to see 🙈 corruption to this level. I guess I assumed, previously, that the cops maybe were creating "off" evidence because they wanted justice for a fellow officer... But Beyond what they are putting Karen thru with no evidence & no investigation is horrible. BUT, the way they are disrespecting OFFICER O'Keefe with the way they handled the investigation is appalling. Breaks my heart for him, he was probably the MOST decent, if not the ONLY decent man on the Canton police force. Shame.
As everyday of this trial passes I just cannot believe how the prosecution even got here. I don’t see anything yet where I am like, “oh, I get it.” Love watching this with you all, though I am watching after work.
Every time I tune in to watch some of this case, there is always something jacked up the investigators have done. I really feel like they are trying to make the evidence fit their theory.
From my understanding, many of the witnesses believe Karen Read did hit John O'Keefe, so why are they all acting as if they're the ones on trial or are hiding something? It's one thing to be defensive when you're being cross examined, that's natural, but Julie Nagel didn't think to mention to ANYONE that she saw a "blob" on the lawn at around 1:45am in the days after finding out a BODY was found in that very spot? Tristan Morris couldn't just say he picked up Caitlin but didn't see anything? He was the most combative which made him most suspicious about what he may have wanted to hide, especially considering he had no intention of waking up before his shift and picking up his girlfriend.. Both Brian & Nicole answered calls but claimed not to? Julie Albert didn't want to talk to or see her close friend after being called at 5am? No one treated Read as though she admitted, let alone claimed, that she hit him?
I don’t think any of the witnesses believe Karen Read hit John O’Keefe. I think they all know she didn’t and they don’t want to expose what did happen. Hence the defensiveness.
It seems to me that since he made it so long without being questioned he thought he was all good. But now that he got dragged in (and probably has some idea of the real story) BUT has had way less time to ‘prepare’ himself mentally, that he’s trying to keep it very short and vague. And he’s probably exceedingly nervous about the whole testifying thing.
@@elisebryant9938that's very good insight, that makes a lot of sense. So they're like if you don't know just say you don't remember, judge won't force it.
its insane isn't it lol like wtf I can only imagine what going thru the jury's mind,, just imagine not being about to talk about all this?? smh horrible
The funny part is Julie claims that she dropped off the donuts around 8:30am, but somehow missing John McCabe’s car? Hello! If my best friend was parked at her sister’s house, I would notice and I would go inside, especially when she left me a call at 5:55am. Let’s not forget Brian said she brought coffee to the house. She claims she only put the donuts in Brian Jr’s car, but WHY would she do that, when there’s a blizzard out? It’s not like he was going to drive anywhere that day.
If none of these people are in on it, why are they all so damn defensive like they have something to hide? It feels very much like they are closing ranks because they are all in on it.

Well nobody has presented information in a concise way that would tell a story as to what they believe happened. They are VERY interested in everyone going to a bar and the fact that it snowed. The prosecutions presentation is very much like the Investigation, lacking in every way or totally Non existent.
They couldn't possibly produce a diagram that would have any evidentiary value because they've already admitted that nobody bothered to even measure or document the precise location or position the body was found in. All they're going off of is people's rough estimations of what they remember, and the testimony about all of that has been wildly inconsistent from one witness to the next.
What the hell, I did the same as you here. Jury duty mode. Didnt research anything only had heard of it. But seriously, day 11, 30 witnessess, and we still dont have an OUTLINE even of the prosecutions case? I didnt wanna think cops cover up, but the prosecution now just seems to be the defense team for the Alberts !!!
Yep I only know anything about this through this stream. And prosecution hasn’t been pointing the finger at Karen at all. Like ok friends were there with other people. Great it was snowing. The family Knows Nothing! So how the heck is that good evidence for the crime that took place. The local police and investigators really messed this up.
Sooo Julie just happened to see a 5-6 foot long black blob, while drunk, in a moving car, from the backseat drivers side and says "I think I saw something but I'm drunk"... Suuuuuuuuure... They just had to have SOMEONE who left the house "see" something... give me a freaking break!! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Considering a lot of these people went before a grand jury before being interviewed by investigators guaranteed they would be able to freely lie on the stand.
Replay crew here and the minute Julie takes the stand my prediction is that she’s gonna be a nightmare for cross!! She’s just got a mean muggin face immediately
I've watched every day with you and never slower than 2x speed. The prosecutor is mind numbing. I do think his lateness for talking to witnesses he planned on calling is indicative of how much more time he needed to work on this case though. Untangling a shit criminal investigation costs more time and requires more care. This shouldn't have gone to trial based on what I've seen so far.
The headlights of every car that backed out of the driveway to pass by the house, would have shined, slowly, across the ENTIRE lawn as the car went from an angle to straighten out in the road. In the bright lights, not one person saw a large body, excessive blood lost, shoe, hat or 47 pieces of red plastic??
It's very suspicious that people actually remember, two years later, what they were doing at the exact moment they didn't see the spot were the victim was supposedly lying. That is really strange.
@@FlowerNana7 Again from what I remember and understood : it was erased and the Defense discovered it through an expert I guess, but yes I think they said the State disputes the validity of it or something. But if they spoke of it in the opening I guess the Court agreed that it was admissible. We'll see !
Here’s where we’re going. The prosecution has stopped prosecuting Karen, they are now a defense team, defending the Alberts. 🤷🏽♀️

Do we even know if he’s dead yet? Has a medical professional declared him dead yet?!?
All I can remember was it was snowing and none of these people have heard of a designated driver!
@lizzimmermann7164 thats because the owner of the house was a Boston police officer
The prosecution hasn’t rested their case have they? Also, the reason they and the jury has to go through this is because the defense has blamed the family with John’s murder and quite frankly I haven’t heard anything to prove that happened either.
@@Steve-qn8gnthe defense doesn't have to prove that. The burden rest on the commonwealth.

I have 2 theories about Tristan. 1 because he was never interviewed he really doesn't remember much about that night as it's never been fresh in his mind from questioning. Or 2. He knows something about what happened and is like, "I'm not lying for your family, but I also won't say anything incriminating."
Yep
At this point, I'm inclined to go with #2.
Also, just because he wasn't formally interviewed before then doesn't mean he hasn't been coached, indoctrinated, persuaded, manipulated in all the time before.
He didn’t remember an awful lot. That’s not a good look imo
I think its obvious to him what happened and its 2 imo
How does everything seem to come back somehow to Jen McCabe. Like she keeps popping up with most of the witnesses on the stand. I can’t wait for her to testify 😮
Almost every witness has had some interaction with Jen McCabe, including the the police and first responders. After all, Kevin Albert is Nicole’s brother-in-law and works for the Canton PD. SHE is Nicole’s kid sister. Brian has known her since she was about six years old. I wouldn’t be surprised that she’s around the same age as Kevin..
She’s the one who masterminded all this when they. Knew JOK was going to die. She prob felt guilty since she was the one who invited JOK AND KAREN.
My concern is how there seems no concern for their morals by telling lies ( even by omitting information) that could potentially get a person convicted of MURDER!
If any one of them had any inkling of what integrity looked like, we wouldn't be here
I am getting Blue Line & Mob Family vibes here…

Following from the date it happened. Thanks Emily for covering this case.
I agree , if you see the photo of the firefighter that got hit in the head by BA with a beer bottle and the facial injuries look very familiar.
Where do you see the actual autopsy photos?
That's what the defense should've included. They should've shown the bites on the arm, the rear of the car, and the dog and said to the jury "Ladies and Gentlemen, according to the Commonwealth, these wounds were caused by this car and NOT this dog. Look at these wounds and look at the car and the dog and think to yourself how this IS NOT a dog bite"
@@theroachden6195 Karen's defense could still possibly do something like this when the CW rests. But each point must be developed and built upon to create an explanation of John's death from evidence they present through testimony, reports and experts in the defense chief case. Can u contact defense as an expert witness?
This must be the first case ever where the defense has presented their case first, and the prosecution has been able to lead witnesses by rules of procedure
And the defense hasn’t even presented the meat of their case, just laying foundations courtesy of the prosecution witnesses.
The Commonwealth is more less serving as the defense (for the Alpert Clan). The only side serving as anything approaching a prosecution is Ms Read’s legal team.
@@carolinahammer9480 aren't Yanetti and Jackson both former prosecutors? xD (Jackson worked in the same juristiction Emily did, I think? and Yanetti in the exact courthouse they're having trial in right now, or so I heard)
So maybe they just dipped back into that...
But yes, it's really weird how Lally is defending the Alberts and has seemingly forgotten about his job to prove Karen Read did it.
Yes both are former prosecutors.
And doesn't utter WTF is that, but asks for a PB&J sammy instead. I wouldn't be able to control myself if I were a juror.

Assuming that everyone's memory works the same as yours would make you a horrific juror
same and I was in 8th grade
Interesting you say that bc I lost my mom suddenly and tragically and I find all these witnesses having crystal clear memories highly suspicious. Especially since they also claim it wasn’t very important to them. I explain the night my mom died as something I remember everything and yet nothing at all. I have no idea what I was wearing or what she was wearing etc etc.
Now who is believable is Karen and her reaction and even if she may have somehow tried to deduce if she could’ve done that to John and yet be totally innocent. I felt like I caused my moms death or like I could’ve done more etc.
Jen M. asking for screenshots of texts between Julie Nagel and Julie’s brother, Ryan, is weird as hell. Super fishy.
It’s not for she is health if you need to come up with an alibi. When you need to create confusion you have to have all the information.
With presented evidence, at this point, I’m just going to assume Mrs. McCabe and Miss Chloe did it in the basement with a dumbbell until Tim Curry tells me otherwise.
With this evidence we can assume it was definitely snowing that evening and there was a band playing in the pub.

And she magically remembered it was “5 or 6 feet” long
I mean, if at the time, she could easily have thought that there wasn’t much need to tell anybody. The guy had been found and was dead. It’s not like she could go back in time and save his life. Rewatching. Thank you for your coverage. 😊
IMO Julie Nagle was lying. She was defensive, she was beyond fidgeting & kept saying after 2:00 (or before)? I’m brain dead from the amount of push back, defensive & uncooperative behavior from these people. The amount of pull this family has is insane & these people willing to perjure themselves is beyond sad. This is a family whose misdeeds are deeply rooted & his black book (so to speak) of material on others must be something else. So sad our legal system is broken 😡
Yes!!!! That is what I thought!!!
The legal system is not broken everywhere, and hopefully this is the impetus to push out the Albert's and improves the quality of police work, the elected officials and cases chosen for prosecution in Canton area.
Fear is a strong motivator for many people.
Lots of people who can’t remember in this town and lots of people that like to play word games. Make them seem real stupid.
@@eagrinstead1- Kevin Albert still works for the Canton PD.
You are absolutely the most legit person to cover any court hearing. I have been binge watching you, half the stuff I was never even interested in, that is until you covered it! The fact that you also comment on my 2 favorite things, DMB and Bravo, has officially made you my favorite person on UA-cam!
You're the one i love to play for the daily recap. Thank you for all your hard work, Attorney Baker. You rock.
If you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with B.S. and baffled I am. If I knew nothing of the reasons for the trial, and now, after 10 days, I still wouldn’t know!
The Commonwealth's case against Jen McCabe gets stronger by the day!
Oh, she's not the defendant? That's weird.
Emily, I know this case inside out. I appreciate how you are coming into it, its a real education.
It's Wednesday morning, I have my coffee, its a fresh morning in the UK and I am catching up on the 2nd half of yesterday. WTF is how I am feeling again, this is a mockery of a sham at times.
Everyday, I’m more and more upset that this case was brought, and that Karen Reed has to pay to defend herself from this. I realize that the case isn’t over, so I’m trying to remain objective, but it isn’t easy.
It’s sooo quiet during a snow storm - you know when cars are driving down your street.sound is amplified. Especially at night.
Also … no one on that street has any cameras set up?
I hate snow but I absolutely LOVE it when it's like midnight and snowing and everything is quite and peaceful and you can hear the snowflakes like tiny bells. It's so nice
I need a white claw everyday I watch this trial!
Going to keep this going
What I've learned from the prosecution:
- It was snowing
- It was Brian's birthday
- There were doughnuts
What I've learned from the defence:
- Red solo cups and random unsealed paper bags are adequate for collecting evidence
- People don't need to be interviewed after a body is found (informal conversations will do!) and when they are interviewed it is months and months later
- No one saw anything, no one talks about anything
- Brian Snr got rid of his house, his dog, his phone and job all after the incident
- No one knows who answered their phones at weird hours (Which appear to have been answered!)
- No one is close to anyone (until they are)
- SOMEONE SAW SOMETHING AND DIDN'T TELL ANYONE! Just sat on that information and never told anyone they saw a dark object lying in the snow. I hope Prosecution is not relying on this witness who saw a car behaving odd and something odd in the snow all while drunk.
Exactly
Anyone who has driven in snow or watched someone drive in snow knows that cars are odd. Lol I once watched someone repeatedly do donuts because they couldn’t just accept that they were stuck
I feel like the big questions are answered every 3 witnesses. And it's from the defense's questions
"Less than truthful" and "evasive". You're so nice. They are telling so many lies.
My goodness, the chat and online comments are such a wonderful community - I love being part of it. Thank you everyone! 💕
She has been coached a lot since the Voir dire
That last witness had an incredibly disrespectful attitude. She doesn't come across credible at all... at the end of every day I scream " HOW DID THIS EVER GET TO TRIAL????" 😱😱😱
Right! When she would go “no. NOPE.” Felt real icky when we’re talking about the death of a man. Like have some respect for the system.
I loved her.
Very direct.
I think she was telling the truth and her attitude is mirroring the snark of the defense attorney.
Hard disagree. She seemed anxious, but was listening to the questions and gave direct answers.
@@FrankyFrankAlotI liked her for the most part but I was very uncomfortable about how casual she was at seeing “the object”. I think id spend the rest of my life wishing I could go back and make them stop the car
Emily always says exactly what we are all thinking 😂 I love the lawnerds!! ❤
I literally say the same words as Emily in the same time! lol
“The longer the trial goes, the less I know.” So true. What in the world is going on???
New PSA “The less we know!”
i'm sure the fbi is
2.28.35 "Is your memory exhausted?" This was a ridiculous question by Lally, and Yanetti uses it on every witness since, just to irritate the judge, because she would never have allowed the defence to ask it.
Thank you. LOL. I thought it was Lally that first used it. I was confused about Yanetti picking it up. LOL
Is that why he uses it?
@@MaryBethDesjardins It's borderline argumentative. So the judge let it slide. The defense would benefit from argumentative statements as the point of the defense is to drive the case to their side of conspiracy. It's smart
Can we press charges on LOLLY for shamelessly stealing everyone’s time with these idiotic questions?
All understanding I thought I finally had of this case was gone after Jr's friends testified, back to square one with 17 thousand more questions
But
Beyond what they are putting Karen thru with no evidence & no investigation is horrible.
I'm new to this channel. Baker is hilarious!
He's talked to on Tuesday (even though he was on the witness list) maybe after hearing opening statements prosecution was like uh oh, we need to have Tristan testify (not sure why).
Wow- this investigation was barely done. They had blinders on for sure. I can totally see why the investigation of this case is under review. I love your sound effects!
I wonder how many arguments they had after they all testified!
Someone FINALLY saw something in the yard at 1:45-2:00am which blows the State's timeline.
Sara Levenson is a breath of fresh air!! The first witness to testify who knows how to tell time and has a working memory. Her brain cells apparently havent been killed by alcohol!!
shes the one that's just like idk and I'ma just be honest. so far seems to be the only one
So this nurse hasn't been drinking all night and gets into a car with people driving that HAVE been drinking all night.???
Her mum warned her about her shoes in the snow, but never about getting into a car with drunk drivers?
Small towns…everyone drinks and drives. It’s a sad fact.
Yep. After turning down another ride that was previously there waiting to pick them up.
She sd she knew someone by that name in high school but that is a lie. There is no way that u see thr same girl especially in ur own dorm. Were teammates, were at personal baby shower etc. So why? Why is she not being fully upfront
Why did she want to leave

2) the entire Albert family tree
3) everyone has some very unfortunate coincidences all at the same time.

6) they didn’t interview people quickly
7) I’m never using solo cups again

Good investigative thoughts ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 Iam obsessed! Best from Germany 🇩🇪
The Karen Read trial brought to you by White Claw.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
“JJ” has a lot of explaining to do. Guilty parties insert themselves into investigations. She seems to have controlled the narrative in all of this.
💯💯💯
There is almost not one witness that Jen Mccabe didn’t speak to at one point or another that whole morning from the moment they arrived back at her sister’s house. Almost every time Karen was being questioned. Jen was right there.
I’ve listened to a lot
Of streams for the last 2 years following this case. Your coverage is 11/10! Definitely no fur on the boots
So much doubt in this case! How could they not even interview the few people that were present at the actual scene of the freaking crime within minutes of when it occurred?! I cant even!
And the resident/officer never comes out.. it’s all BS
@@melb4jd245 and every single person who allegedly heard "I hit him" directly, not through the EMT grape vine, was related to the Albert family and acting shady then, and like they have amnesia now. Hmmm
The more of this trial I watch, and I’m a replay crew girlie who’s behind, the angrier I get that this good man has died and the investigation was so poor.
No matter who’s guilty the police work seems to be of such a bad quality, it’s pretty insulting to the poor man’s family.
4 weeks in, and I'm still not sure where he was lying in the snow. A diagram would be useful.
I know, it keeps changing from the other side of the road to the actual front yard. I'm so confused!
Well nobody has presented information in a concise way that would tell a story as to what they believe happened. They are VERY interested in everyone going to a bar and the fact that it snowed. The prosecutions presentation is very much like the Investigation, lacking in every way or totally Non existent.
I don’t think they’re sure where he was. It was a game of telephone to relay it along.
And we'll never get a picture, because they took no measurements or diagrams or markings down.
What's the penalty for lying to a Grand Jury? For them to return a ruling of 2nd degree murder these people had to have lied their asses off.
Considering a lot of these people went before a grand jury before being interviewed by investigators guaranteed they would be able to freely lie on the stand.
Just waiting for the prosecution to show up with their actual case…
I have had American Labs over 120 pounds and pugs, and a Yorkie. They all would have lit up like 4th of July with that amount of “noise”
Im watching retrospectively now that the trial has concluded. Im on day 11 and so far its a farce.
Emily: this is our life now.
I love how relaxed and authentic you are. Thank you for being you. It’s inspiring. ❤️🙏❤️
You know Emily you will be famous again if Neflex is in courtroom you know you will be in it. So exciting
Tristan is all of us listening to Lallys questions. Even his face is saying “wtf are you asking”
I would have to disregard her testimony can’t rely on it. We need the actual time Jen googled ASAP plz😊

@@SissouLoveVideo doesn’t the state dispute that ? Wonder what evidence we get?
