black ironhide is what i grew up with, but even as a kid i loved those red repaints. i would love to see an SS of this
Ik I also had him but he’s lost
I feel kinda guilty, cause I always played with the Chest as if that was where Sentinel Shot him so he'd permanently have like a busted Chest area (the two panels constantly open but with the MG detracted) yes it was morbid but it was funny when paired with my Sentinel.

For mine, I kept throwing it in the wall cuz I was a dumb kid at the time and I didn’t even know who ironhide was at the time since I was just given to it for Christmas as a kid
So imagine you're a kid who gets this for a gift, and it becomes your favorite toy. You go to see the movie, and take him with you. And then Sentinel Prime blows Ironhide's brains out.
Unless his brain is in his chest, I'd say it was his heart, lungs and probably his liver.
Having grown up with the Micheal Bay movies, my personal favorite of the Autobots was Ironhide, so there's a bit of bias when I say that Ironhide as a pickup truck is just PERFECT. I felt it always fit the character of an old, ruff and tumble tough guy. Especially when you factor in his love of heavy artillery, you could definitely see Ironhide making great use of his battering ram of a vehicle mode.
No shade at all to the G1 iteration, because I really love his iconic color scheme of red, yellow, and silver. Though I will say the van fits Ratchet a lot more than it does Ironhide.
My point is, this figure does what very few Ironhide figures do which is marry the movieverse vehicle mode with the G1 color scheme. The only other figure I can think of off the back of my head that does that is Combiner Wars Ironhide.
What I would love to see in the future is an Ironhide figure that has a more G1/Generations style robot mode and deco with a pickup truck alt mode and I think I will have found my perfect version of Ironhide.
There is a really cool Transformers Prime design of him before they switched him out for Bulkhead.
The TFPrime Kup toy was released by Takara as Ironhide, being like a really cool mix of G1 and movie if I don’t remember him incorrectly

Big love to Thew for sending this to you. Amazing channel I've been watching for years. This toy IMO really marks the transitional phase for Leader class figures as DOTM really simplified them from where they were with ROTF. Not true with Sentinel, but Bee, and Ironhide and the movie Leaders to follow really brought down the difficulty by several notches. This Ironhide however is still great and lot of fun as I have the movie accurate black one. Hidden army knife is still my favorite feature other than the near perfect truck mode. Nice job tracking down a Starscream as that to me still remains a God tier leader class figure with little to nothing to complain about.
Hasbro should release some studio series in their G1 counterpart colors in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line.

Heh. I got an Ironhide from Thew a while back too. Got the Combiner Wars one when I was trying to make a CW big lad. Do like the look of this lad. Most of the movie Ironhide's I've seen seem to over complicate the transformation but this one comes along and makes it simple and still looks good in both mode.

Ironhide death has one of the most unintentionally funniest memeable deaths I ever seen
Interesting to note, some of the engineering in this figure can be found on the black apple MPM ironhide mold which just recently made a resurgence
How funny. It isn’t just the same type of figure being reviewed by two different guys very close together. It’s THE EXACT SAME TOY being reviewed by two different guys very close together.
I honestly like the red more than the black
O got the black version of that leader class but is not easy to get the red or orange version of him for good pride because he was limited edition I think.
Crazy that there are two high quality reviews of the same exact toy. Not to mention it’s this one of all things.

Movie Ironhide in G1 colors seriously hits and we need more toys of it
I actually have the movie color version of this toy. My only real complaint has been how tight the non-hip joints are and the one piece that makes up the bed is just in a weird place, I think they should've had it slide into the feet or something.

Just wanted to say thanks for informing us about Buyee, I thought I would take a look and was able to buy a figure I've wanted for years (a Japan exclusive), the TAV 21 Optimus! Got him at a great price too. I used your link from the Takara Legendary Optimus review and got 2000 Yen off. Just seeing if there's anything else I want before I get the order shipped! (I also did buy the FoC mold RID Grimlock)

old figures, a feeling of mess when play but fun to look
YOU NEED TO GET THE TH-01 HURRICANE WASPINATOR. Seriously this thing is a beast. No kibble in either robot or helicopter mode. The articulation is off the chain on this figure. Seriously look into it. You will not regret it
Ironhide's battle mask design is so strange for me. It always looks like he has a big nose instead of a battle mask.
Wait till someone uses this in a stop motion for when iron hide becomes rust it would be messed up
The sound chip was changed. The original chip was programmed with "Ironhide here" and "weapons ready" this repaint turned him into a pokemon 😂😂😂

I had a leader ironhide, but the smokestacks broke of and the minigun chest gimmick fell apart.
It's a great figure ro get and I might try and get another one.

The Topkick normaly is in red so this is G1 and Stock Topkick Ironhide

I had the original version it was my brothers I lost the gun missle and some parts of the truck bed I have seen them but I lost this iron hide 3years ago before I started collecting transformers again now I only have the front wheel chest piece 😭

I only have ROTF leader Prime and Scream and DOTM Sentinel Prime but I have never transformed SP into truck mode too much of a pain and the manual sucks lol

I own that figure, but it's broken and missing a lot of parts it still has the head, though, and I have dark of the moon skids and it's missing its head

I like this mold a lot because the studio series iron hide is annoying as hell to transform and get into poses because when my brother try's to transform his ironhide studio series he can never get the grill and its annoying so I like the mold a lot more then the studio series mold the hips need fixing but if this were black and had the correct cannon and not that big chunk of plastic on the face this should have been the studio series if it was smaller than prime's semi unlike the studio series again annoying as hell so yeah I like it I just don't like the red unless its on a g1 style figure but otherwise its great.
I forget to say STOP SENTINEL PRIME PLS STOP SHOOTING IRONHIDE.
