So So So Much Junk In The Trunk…And Arms….And Legs | #transformers ROTF Deluxe Class Brawn - Розваги
Yeah, revisiting this mould in 2022 made me realise how much of the TFWiki canonised a lot of attitudes I held a decade ago like "all shell forming is bad". Going back and assessing the Fallback version on his own terms I actually love this guy and now the Siege Seekers are one of my favourite moulds of all time.
Shell form is only a problem when the shell doesn't look part of the robot and is just packed on the back.
@@jkliao6486 even then, it's fine as long as the figure looks cool. Same with "backpacks" and "kibble". I honestly don't give a damn if my robot aliens that turn into vehicles and animals, don't have a clean humanoid design. Shit is supposed to be weird. Let it look weird.
@@dn22pkkdd476 then u are just better off buying an action figure and not a transformer. a transformer, with the verb itself as part of the name is meant to transform. you might be better suited for the highly articulated 3rd party sculptures
@@dn22pkkdd476 well yeah but if the robot on screen *doesn't* have a backpack full of kibble, it ruins the immersion
i thought shell forming is when you have like half of the car behind the character (as a shell basically) and 1/4th on each leg, as a solid piece. this model here has big panels but it's far from having like "whole front of the car used as a cape" :D personally i like when you see the car parts on the bot mode and can make out which car it is. what i don't like are fake parts like the fake front windows on the chest of the studio series primes or the g2 laser prime. or the fake hood on... i think it was hot rod
BRAWN. Such a good toy. I really think ROTF was a golden era for Transformers. So diverse and interesting transformations.
The HftD subline was the pinnacle, though. I remember when I got Battle Blade Bumblebee, I was like "they're never gonna top this thing at the retail level." And they haven't, either.🤷🏽♂️ Same with the retooled Leader class Battle Hook Optimus and the Voyager class Battle Blade Optimus.
Even though ROTF was written during that writers block which overall made the movies plot a little goofy, It's still my favorite Transformers movie. The toys that came from the movie were awesome and around two years ago I completed my SS Devastator and am currently working on getting the rest of the parts for the Devil Savior Devastator. If it wasn't for that movie I probably would have way more money to get other things though.
@@DragoonMS reveal the shield was where it was at
@@DragoonMS HFTD Bee's proportion is extremely odd, but I gotta admit it's easily one of the most enjoyable Bumblebee ever with all the gimmicks it comes with.
2009 was when I got into Transformers. The rotf line is so nostalgic for me. For that reason it is my favorite toy line in Transformers
This was one of my favorite toys from the Bayverse era. Just loved the articulation, the guns, and the digitigrade legs on it. Plus the head makes me think of the Steel Brigade from GI Joe.
I love brawns design he looks so Badass
This was my favorite Transformer toy 11 years ago. I liked his truck mode! We still have all of our transformers toys.😁
I believe ROTF had the best toys.
This is definitely one of those figures where the kibble actually works in the figures favor and this mold looks so cool it's a shame I never managed to get a hold of one as a kid
The era where kibble was used aesthetically and not just a lazy backpack.
This reminds me of the GI Joe X Transformers that've been coming out.
But then again this doesn't have the collaboration price tag,
I like to rotate the hood pieces 180 degrees on the ball joints and have the hood become the thight, gives him a more grounded look, also loving that g1 toy head
yeah that's what I do too. The hood covers the thighs in a way it kind of looks like a battle skirt for a samurai or a gundam
Yeah, we’ve had plenty of Optimus figures with two modes that look great, and a robot mode that poses well BUT CAN HIS TRUCK TRANSPORT SNACKS?!? I think not.
Also, my god, ROTF reinvented the small guys like Seaspray and Brawn to be such badass bruisers, and not in an obnoxious edgy way 😎.
I wish mine hadn’t fallen apart. Still have a leg and a pistol, but the rest has disappeared at some point in the last 11 years. Such fond memories of this guy
1:59 bro really turned Italian
I had the good fortune to meet the designer of this toy Alex Kubalsky in a pub once. He talked about how he liked to make the transformations dynamic as well as both end modes. That's why the guns are in his hands. So he can be exploding out of his alt mode already fighting. I also showed him the alternative configuration of the leg kibble where you rotate it 180 and position it over the tops of the hips to form armour. It cleans up the legs a lot and fits like it was always supposed to go there. Better than the official configuration. I asked Alex if that was always the intention and Hasbro got the photos and instructions wrong. He said no, but it was actually better that way than how he designed it.
That noise that you don't like reminds me of every time I try to click out legacy cosmos's head. That click freeking scares me
Love all your videos man... you are getting me through a really tough time in my life and I always a m so happy to see when you've posted a video. Thank you for all that you do all the hard work because you're making a real difference out here providing smiles to a guy who feels like the entire world is against me
how depressing
Tough and depressing time for us Chelsea fans
I've seen a lot of people who look like that figure.
Roasted!
As a fellow brown person the little “Like me” bits always make me smile
Today I woke up in a different universe, I swear fallback should be called outback
he is one of the best figures for the older days of Transformers. it can be annoying.
I only got this because I'm a G1 kid and it was a desperate time for us, but honestly this was such a fun and satisfying way. I always felt the kibble was more like a cape or wings etc and was a style rather than a compromise.
I genuinely wish all the '84/85 characters got the same treatment.
I think this mold would make a perfect autotrooper, it's just so stocky and battle ready
This guy and Fallback were my neoG1 representatives, a la ROTF Bludgeon, for so long. Glad we got updates but these guys still impress all these years later.
I think the Fallback recolor looks so much better to me,but that could also just be my repaint bias though;I usually just prefer repaints, such as:legacy Silverstreak, Siege Crosshairs, United Ricochet/Stepper, TFCC Barricade, Netflix Deep Cover, RoTF Smokescreen, HFTD Payload, g1 color RoTF Mixmaster, AoE Tracks (or Hotshot on the box for some reason), GS Exhaust, and Kingdom Shadow Panther.
Also yes,I did just list off a bunch of figures on my shelves.
Same 100%, there's just a unique charm repaints have. I have Siege Crosshairs, TFCC Runabout/ Runamuck, Universe Roadbuster, Allspark Big Daddy, Allspark Crankcase (my second favorite Transformer ever) and the Fallback repaint of the Brawn from this vid.
I even have a list of the best repaints I can think of
I've been tempted to get HotShot (2014 Tracks), but reports of the soft plastic cape breaking keep me away from him
You know. It makes sense Brawn would have issues with his shoulders, lol.
I used to starve myself in college saving up to buy these toys. somewhat pleasant memories. This was one of my most favorite figures in my collection. It's nice to remember all of it with this review. the hips really are loose.
back when deluxe class alt modes couldnt be fully hidden in your hand
Back when you couldn't crumble them into pieces by closing that hand too. Nice hard plastic on this guy.
Maaan, that’s a great Transformer…
I have him and he is SO enjoyable to handle and, you know, play with.
Big Loud Summer Blockbuster is so over the top it's below the bottom
Brawn was literally one of my favorite figures I ever had, I know he’s packed away somewhere but I gotta find him
I completely forgot I had this when I was younger. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
honestly the way the kibble sits and the leg shapes give me serious anime mecha vibes
This kinda looks like a cross between g1 Brawn and 2001 RID X-Brawn, with the bayverse aesthetic, and I LOVE IT!
I really wanna get this guy someday, I think he, Outback, and Recon Ironhide would make a good commando team
I actually like his kibble, because it's just feels that brawn should have it, brawn had always been a tough bot and this kinda fits in, very armored and will makes you think to not mess around with this guy
I still love this guy. I really liked him before, and I still do. The kibble just works for me.
I remember looking at him on the catalog that came with the figures before I bought him. My sister was the one who pointed to Brawn and said he looked cool. I agreed and bought him then.
I love this figure so much! I miss the rotf line 😢
The Fallback repaint is so good. I have him, it looks like a desert mission or a safari vehicle, and the permanently attached gun makes more sense for him than for Brawn.
One of the things I love the most about his mold, is how relatively little paint it needs, multiple details are little pieces of plastic put together with screws. All the roof pieces are opaque plastic instead of the usual transluscent roof/window piece with paint. That (as well as the functional truck bed) is something this mold shares with another mold I love, Generations Kup
1:59 "Like me!" LMAO
I just love how this figure looks like Doom Slayer.
I had the fallback version of this mold when I was younger and I remember absolutely loving it
As much kibble it has, I can totally see this design in the movies
This is still one of my favorite movie figures to date. Always wanted one as a kid, might have to go and get one now.
bro got them junk in the trunk if you know what I mean😮💨😏
The hand guns when not in his hands, can be stored on the doors at the top using the flat parts, its not exactly the smartest of locations, but not much can be done about that, thou it would of been nicer if they could been stored in the panels on his legs, because I feel he could be a alterative verison of RID2001 X-Brawn, just going by his headscuplt, it looks very similar
My uncle got me this toy back in the day and I still love it. I'll admit the robot mode is kinda annoying and flimsy, but the truck mode is awesome.
damn, he chonk (in vehicle mode). This figure is giving me confusing vibes. Looks alright, top poseability, top vehicle, but that shoulder omfg, and so much kibble
3:26 sent shivers down my spine, I thought it was going to break on the spot
60 seconds in for a "put your weed in there". Jobby would be proud
Man's like the more stuff I have covering me the better chance I have of survival
One of the best and coolest shell-former ever made.
had this character when i was a kid, he was always my favorite
1 of my fave bayverse type figures, the dual pistols, the predator shoulder cannon, i like it a lot
Imagine a deception chasing this truck and it transforms and you just see hands with guns pointing at you
Looking back at these old Bayverse toys is quite fascinating to me. It kinda feels like it was the Wild West of Transformers - we've had good toys, bad toys, big ones, little ones, shellformers, weird gimmicks, characters that didn't make it into the main films but appeared in some tie-in media elsewhere, the whole lot. Quite a nostalgic era too, since that's when I first got into Transformers.
you know despite what has been going at Hasbro , I feel like we're at that era again minus the gimmicks and the increased price hike and all other toy lines after and before the rotf toy line and wfc trilogy / legacy the other toy lines felt meh don't get me wrong we still got a few good figures from those lines but with the wfc trilogy and Legacy lines , I for one feel like I'm back during the rotf hype for transformers collecting .
@@thecasualknight2647 Yeah, I recently got back into collecting proper, and most of the recent figures look incredibly good.
Kind of looks like an Armored Core figure, I like that.
I think the kibble just makes the look that more cool, IMO.
I love this thing so much it’s one of my favorites
With the way his helmet looks, he gives me MASSIVE Doom Guy vibes (totally not from me watching a few Doom vids before this)
i love seeing one of my favorite deluxe class figures getting some modern love. 2 things i can add as note of this figure: 1 his weapons can be stowed on his hip by the "leg kibble" and act as hip holsters so he has them and free hands the 2nd is his back cannon and head are mobile enough you can get brawn's head to look threw the scope over his shoulder
He looks like someone made doomguy out of car parts, and suceeded! I want this guy so badly.
I loved this dude he was one of my favorites but I lost him a LONG time ago and all I have left of him is his right leg
lol the legs on mine popped off a lot, something about the angle and proportions just makes them easy to leverage I think. Classic movie fig though, pairs great with Dune Runner from the line too. I turned the hood pieces around to cover the thighs as makeshift hip guards.
Insert clear plastic is what we should have more often to prevent the figure from breaking. Just like we got with the Legacy Arcee figure. You'd expect the whole front of the motorcycle to be clear plastic due to it having a window there but no, it's a separate piece. Either that or just make the windows on a car just opaque plastic.
Got his moldmate Fallback. Enjoying both the vehicle and robot mode.😁
One of the few figures that haves kibble and doesn't look as ugly
I swear you upload like yesterday but ha I’m not complaining always a good surprise to see your videos
TTG: This Thing Sucks
Also Me: *AAH!!!! IT'S SO AWESOME!!!! I WANT IT!!!!*
Don’t forget you can flip the headlights out on the arms and turn them into arm mountain machine guns. Or you can flip them all the way around onto the fists and make him have really tall boxing gloves
I loved this toy. That gun in hand transformation is so cool. Would have been so cool if it was in the movie.
i used to love ROTF brawn when i was younger! I had no clue he was brawn though
I like this figure, one of my favourite designs from the Live Action films. I got mine complete for £0.99.
I gave it some WFC grenades to store in the chest cavity. It even has a spare WFC cannon from Bumblebee/Cliffjumper, just because I got it in a spare WFC weapons lot.
The roof gun makes the vehicle design work for me. It's very different to what we tend to think an Autobot vehicle mode should be.
The roof parts being on the arms gives it extra light when pointing the SMGs.
still have mine form the rotf toy line and it still holds up today definitely a worthy pick up if you can get him at a good price and rotf Brawn is one of many favorite not cannon movie figures the others include
Wreckage
Breakaway
Dune runner
Backfire
Hailstorm
just to name of few .
I love my Brawn. I got mine used as well for like 5£ & the only thing that's kinda annoying is that one of my hips popps out but it's not a big deal. I don't need another one after him, totally satisfied with him as is even if he was the most difficult to transform back in the day.
The design look really great. I am so lucky I find him in a comic book store. Yeah I agree with some parts in robot mode. But I like when the toy hide the guns duel to the transforming. When I put his guns away those things fold and hold the windows can hold the guns if anyone challenge him for a showdown. And I used that gun on his back as a shoulder gun again it look amazing.
Plus his head is kind of basic on his Robot In Disguise 2001 anime form which fit good.
Brawn: I'm going in alone!
needed more pics wuth studio series figs, especially Ironhide!
If he things this truck bed is usable, wait till he gets his hands on 07 dropkick
I hope that surprise on the other shoulder squeak was a joke BC mine always does that. And somehow he’s probably one of my most intact figures from the time… funny.
This figure is sick! I really wish I had him
Good memories from this video. Gonna have to hit eBay, see if I can get one.
Perfect youtuber to watch while eating food.
He looks like something from the Armored Core games.
I want to get the Fallback version of this mold if I can find it sealed for cheap. There’s a legends class figure that looks more like brawn, so I plan on getting it at some point too.
i have always wanted this thing. i always thought it looked cool.
I really like this guy and he's totally a shellformer. But it works.
Seems like a good way to build a autobot army
That's a cool looking transformer! He kinda looks like doomslayer
You have gotten me into collecting Transformers now I brought my first transformation in over 10 years now o got the legacy knock out since I like him in prime but I got into prime 3-4 years ago so I miss the original set of prime toys.
Definition of a shellformer
You would think that he is going to be bulky in robot mode because he has SUV alternative mode, but no he has big knees and over shoulder jacket.
Funny thing to when you look at the head it looks just like any man.
If this guy gets a rework will get it. Its actually awesome
I have Fallback Brawn looks worse in alt mode but better in robot mode. But as a stupid child, I tore a corner of the heat reveal insignia, thinking it was a sticker to peel off to reveal his insignia
Went out of my way to find him on Ebay, needleds to say i love him and he'd a good stand in for ironhide
The Fallback (Outback) version of the mold is cool and I feel that Fallback works better since the truck mode and kibble fit the design of G1 Outback better and he looks great next to SS BB Brawn.
You can get some silicon oil for joints that are too tight. Dstar figure elixir for the loose joints
Nice jobby ref
I actually got hftd outback today for 3$ he’s in perfect condition but missing a few weapons.
one thing I've started to notice recently is how few bots have weapon storage in bot mode other than their hands especially on smaller toys even though it would take one slot in the back or something, and problem solved.
the best shell former i seen is probably prime deluxe mook decepticon.
Vehicle mode hides all the green super well
