Traditionally, the names of the scoring rings come from pre F-Class TR targets in the UK. They also pre-date the V-Bull.
    Bull 5
    Inner 4
    Magpie 3
    Outer 2
    Hit 1
The 3 was called a Magpie because the scoring area for a value 3 shot was half black and half white. The Inner was the inner part of the black aiming mark between the bull 5 and magpie 3.

Really enjoyed watching these guys. I hope one day to be invited to compete. I’ve earned some points but don’t get to shoot LR as much as I like to.

Those IBI barrels are shooting. Nice to see. Have one on my 300 win mag hunting rifle and still holding half MOA with over 1800 rds.

way to go Brad! I'd like to say it's your IBI barrel, but I know you could do that with most pipes.

Another interesting video. I think if you want more people shooting F class the costs need to come down a lot, its a very expensive sport to get into

Allens shot at the 19:25 mark, if you look at the wind on the flags ,they were not moving very much down range at all, so why did the impact hit way over to the right, he is not going to hold over to the left or right if the wind is not doing anything in fact the 2nd to last flag on the right did move to the left a little, so if anything the impact should be dead on the 10 inch ring or a V IMHO unless he held it to the right, the projectiles will only move a little based on the wind at this match, were not talking 10 to 25 miles per hour winds in fact if anything its only less than 5 miles per hour at any station as far as i can guess based on the flaggs down ragne?👍👍✌✌

is it just me or is allens recoil is just a little more and not as stable as brads rifle, look closely and you can see allens rifle move a lot more ,where as brads seems to kick back straight into his shoulder, especially in slow motion you can see the differences? 👍👍✌✌

Blowing away to 4's is not necessarily a condition. These rifles are at best 0.6-0.7 MOA rifles, especially with 200gr projectiles. Occasional shots to 4's are normal statistical variation. We cannot assume all shots are going to the same spot, especially at that distance. Condition seems very mild though. Good match.

These guys have made it all the way to the end. They have good rifles.
Conditions were mild but switchy, which often times causes more issues than strong winds.

Let’s assume they are only 0.7 MOA rifles…then the ten shots would remain inside the 5 ring assuming a good wind call. Most rifles at that level are more like a 0.3-0.4 MOA rifle.

    • @mickroberts5166

@@thepracticalrifleman Nonsense. This assumes these rifles would consistently, remain under 0.4 - 0.3MOA for 10 shot strings, which statistically is simply not true. F class rifle measurement is per group used in competition and number of shots, not 3 shot group at 100y range.

@@mickroberts5166 you’ve obviously never shot F-Class or a good rifle with a good load. Most our string fire is done in 20 round groups.

I believe they are not taking the humidity into consideration, its adding a spin drift to the projectile IMHO, but how much is dependant on the wind and hold over, which Allen looks like he has it right on, but then again, it only takes a 1 second for the projectile to hit the target and on the way its moved based on the above factors. 🦘🦘✌✌
I am just observing what i think is happening, plus brads shooting skill is just as good as allens, its about the wind and humidity factors imho.🦘✌😎👍👌

  • @7071t6
    @7071t6 День тому

WOw the only thing i would say is never ever try to follow where your opponent last shot was, based on the wind, because you do not know where his hold over was, plain and simple. I would shoot one bullet at a time and based on the wind, write it down, where you hold was and what the wind was doing based on your experience of wind hold and especially if you have a mil dot recital, which makes things so much easier, the rifle i shot in Regional Vic F class .223 had no mil dot just a cross as a recital on the scope, so adjustments for wind hold was nearly impossible at 1,000 and 1,100 yards, did not go to 1,200 because the rules state that the projectile must have a certain velocity to penetrate the electronic target to make a impact etc. 👌👍😎🦘✌
