Nice video, I learned recently, after fishing for 35 years, that mackerel will die in around 30mins if you handle them, 🤷. Always shake them off or keep em 👍 well done for the mayday response, it's good to know people are compelled to help, and you also get a chufty badge😉✊ nice video
Thanks for the tip on the mackerel I’ve never heard of that and like to do things sustainably so will definitely bear that in mind for the future! Thanks for watching.
@@petemaccc i dont know where he has heard that from because that is totally untrue regarding mackerel die in 30 min, i catch mackerel for live bait when i fish from my boat, i have always unhooked macs with my hands and put them in my live bait tank for bass and they stay alive all day long - as long your not not rough with them, of coarse it is beter not to touch fish. anyway good video, shame the codling are not bigger for your beer batter and chips
My understanding is Mackerel have sensitive skins and touching it upsets the osmosis which causes a distressing and painful death. I don't know about the time element involved.
@@adriancoates9832 I was repeating a comment I had read on another web site similar to yours but perhaps in hindsight I shouldn't have repeated such a claim without me knowing if it had indeed been substantiated by an authority with bona fide credentials. In other words, you might well be right about not knowing if the fish dies in pain.
Great to see numbers of tiny codling, but I have to wonder how many will ever make it to double figures. Precious few I rather think! Until the commercials learn to return a significant number of what they catch it will never improve! 😲😲😲
Top job with the instant response and help to a boat in need ❤
Couldn’t do anything but help, I’d always hope someone would help me if needed, thanks for watching.
Nice fishing and well done on the rescue.
Thanks and thanks for watching.
What a change, used to fish out of Amble in the 1970s ...

Thanks and thanks for watching

@@alangood8190 ok, but to be honest no one knows if fish have a painful death apart from fish themselves, there is no evidence of that,

You’re probably right though the local fishing forums have been full of double figure fish over the last few days. Thanks for watching.
Last time I fished out of Amble I had 17 cod all decent sized around 16” avg, so they’re out there.
Prove it or it never happened
Where is the amble the only amble I can think of is in Cornwall
Hi it’s off the coast of Northumberland. Well worth a visit!
Awesome as always
Shame they were small fish but, as long as you enjoyed it. Hope they're a better stamp next trip. Well done on the rescue.
