Harbour Fishing | Plenty of Fish

- It was a very windy day and the sea was too rough to fish the rocks, so I went to Amble Harbour, it turned into a very productive day,
I fished two rods, one into the river, and the lighter bass rod just over the side, using mussle, bluey and lug baits.
It was a very enjoyable afternoon out,
Id recommend only fishing the harbour on the flood, as it quietened right off as the tide started to ebb.

Yeh that was a great session and a lovely venue to fish from, I think it will be really busy in the warmer months but I might have a trip back there if there’s a really rough sea on 👍🎣🐟

Yeh there was tons of space, a very pleasant venue, if not a tad busy from passers by, even on a Monday. I wouldn’t fancy it there on a weekend though as I’d guess it’ll be busy with both anglers and passers by

Yeh, there is so much choice all year round over here. I do love a trip to the west coast during the warmer weather, the Mull, Isle of Whithorn and further north are all on my radar for this spring and summer 👍🎣🐟
Have you tried Morecambe for the smooth hounds some double come out regularly if you are interested I will let you know when they are in that's were I love I come over to the East when the makys are in and the cod in September time thanks for the reply been watching you for a while you have learnt a lot

@@fishinghinny I'm 7 months new to fishing ,motorcycles n trackdays n touring on motorcycle has always been my thing, had know idea at 58 year old how therapeutic fishing is,got my 1st bass at South shields pier on Wednesday afternoon, had a grin from ear to ear lol

Enjoyed watching. Coming up to Holy Island in a couple of weeks so thinking of giving Cresswell a go. Only experience is fly fishing but going to give spinning lures a go (only have an 8ft rod for spinning tho😊 Subcribed ..look forward to watching

I don't tend to do the rock edges anymore knee's are knackered but fish the tyne a lot with my sons when I was my sons ages like 18 to 20 I used risk life and limb fishing off the likes of tynemouth pier at night but no more but had cod up to 5lbs out the river I few times even as far up as walker and byker
I’ve not fished up the river yet, just the walkway, groin, and smiths dock.
Will give it a try sometime in the future though 👍🎣🐟

Watching your videos it’s a beautiful part of the country, I keep telling myself i need to come up and give it ago but not sure if I have the right tackle
and cannot convince the lads to come up with me.
I just normally fish the beaches in Yorkshire.I might just give it a go next week
You should give it a go, there’s lots of options up this way, rocks, beaches, estuaries and rivers - something for everyone 👍🎣🐟

Really enjoyed this video Danielle, and thanks for explaining what a Hinny is !! Watching a few of your videos now, your casting is really good but I think you could improve by learning more about different rigs. This would enable you to both cast further and better target certain species. For example, a pulley rig would cast further yet present the bait the same as your usual single dropper rig. Your friend from Sparta would be a good person to ask, but other than that, watch some of Mark William Sea Angling's early youtube videos on rig building.

Yeh I do need to make more effort with rig setups. I have been given some different types from a friend which I intend to copy for myself.
I have just recently tried using a splashdown and the casting distance was noticeably further, and I think it also helped with bait presentation in the water.

i have fished amble pier a good few times over the years but I've only seen small stuff off here I did see a codling of 2lbs caught a while back but well done it's always nice to get out and wet the lines lol

Yeh always smaller stuff n the Harbour, I’ll tackle some of the rock marks in future sessions to hopefully find some bigger fish 👍🎣🐟

Yeh it’s a nice venue to fish from. I’m never too cold, I wear layers under my waterproofs and have hand and feet warmers for if it gets too chilly 🥶

Just a suggestion give circle hooks a go ,,no deep hooking problems in the scissors of the mouth when I use them,size 1,0 for flatties whiting and small codling,no need to strike just reel in nice n steady ,😊

Yeah we all do.thats really why I gave them a go.pike anglers use them instead of deep hooking with treble hooks.it doesn't matter if you miss a bite as when the fish swims of with the baited hook it snags itself in its scissors.if you do try them I would like to know how you got on .tight lines....😁

With a bit of wind and a running sea you will get conditions like that. yes they are stupid and yes its normally them that get away with it and someone else has to get them out. you are such a force to be reckoned with in the realms of fishing . the more you do the better you get just need them coddies to be about 8lb

I fished there at low tide you could see the bottom i had 19 fish
Yeh it can be a productive place on the right day, but terrible on others. I’d go back when really rough 👍

There are some good winter rock marks around that area too when the winter cod are in
