Another point. Darkness is great at casting Illusions with "false" Memories , and shifting True Memories around to create Dark Hearts through conflict and strife. Dark Riku and Young Xehanort explain in KH3 that they used this process to try to create Replica Hearts. It is also implied Vanitas exists the way he does through Ventus's trauma and need for friends, and well as the connection to Sora caused by his almost death.
This means Darkness can unmake a Heart and reconstruct a person with illusions. Which is why I think, Sora thinks Kairi was the Light in the last tunnel segment. The Dark Abyss Young Xehanort says Sora is running through reconstructed Sora's Memory of the Unactualized Timeline so Sora will believe the Illusion that "Kairi was the Light who saved him".
This parallels the Namine situation where Namine uses the power of the Ancient Darkness to control the bond of Sora and Riku and place it on herself and Kairi in Chain of Memories.

Omg excellent point about Riku being the only one saved the proper way! I noticed that he followed Riku's heart and reached Olympus while jumped through portals to reach the others. Now it all makes sense. Wow

On the notion that Riku might be the only one that Sora has used The Power of Waking properly on, it kind of makes sense with the reading that The Power of Waking is thematically the same as True Love's Kiss. Because it means that, thematically, Sora is being punished for making out with a bunch of people that aren't his True Love. Quadratim is him being sent to horny jail.

If I combined Theories with the Theories in this video, the Trauma of Losing Riku (Darkness destroying his Soul) and the Demon Tide physically destroying Sora, caused Darkness to take pieces of his Memories away.

I like the way you capitalised the D in Darkness bc it gets me wondering if it's just the regular old mindless chaotic force of darkness itself, or if one of the pseudo-sentient original 13 Darknesses has some involvement here too 👀
Something something Sora and Riku are two incredibly important and powerful beings especially when their hearts are connected and in tune, something something the Darknesses are attempting to make Sora lose important memories of Riku to try to sever the connection between them because they won't be able to prevent themselves being destroyed by the two otherwise,,,,, idk just spitballing lol

@@kefkaexdeath It is implied the Heartless are physical versions of Ancient Darkness. Further, it is implied Humans as a collective can grow Darkness as their Shadows. See Baldlr's Darkness created by the Fear of the Unknown and the other in the Upper Classmen's Minds.

AAAAAA another vid so soon???? 💙 Thank you so much! Good catch on Chirithy also mentioning 6 hearts! I had completely forgotten about that. Saving Riku really was so different from saving the rest of them & I can't wait to see what Nomura does with 6 hearts no sacrifice 🙏

Another thing is the chess game called Alba and Atar ( light and dark ) that masters play in kh3 one of the rules is that the crown piece can bring back 7 fallen stars. Then we are told they will play a new game. But this time it is crown piece alone ( sora ) vs the 7 ( the ancient keyblade masters ) and the game isnt named but it isnt called light vs dark. One theory i have is the crown piece is able to use the same ability call upon its star friends. Making the chess game be 8 vs 7.

I think it is possible the Darkness of Demon Tide knocked off pieces of his Memories. We know the Ancient Darkness takes Ventus's Memories of being involved in Lauriam sister's murder to hide inside him. Unchains them. Cannot hide if Ventus knows They are there.
So, Sora getting blasted in the Face by Physical Darkness, and a lot of it might scramble Memories. Sora, unlike Riku, isn't immune to Darkness. And the Darkness literally annihilated everything, Body and Heart. Think of the way Roxas doesn't remember Sora's Memory, nor Ventus's memory.
And the Body could remember if Sora still had his Body, but he doesn't. Darkness destroyed it.
    Darkness giveth, Darkness taketh away.

Maybe, but I honestly think Sora forgetting because the pain of Riku’s sacrifice was too much is far more emotional. It’s what I’m choosing to believe for now. Interesting theory though! 😊

@@CocoaCatniptv I believe in another comment I theorized that Riku getting destroyed, destroyed Sora's Soul and created the opening for Darkness to annihilate him. Despair lets the Darkness in. Why do you think Riku let Ansem, Seeker of Darkness possess him? The possibility/actualization of the lost of Love.
Notice when Riku dies, Sora doesn't even try to move, to dodge, to defend with the Keyblade. He just takes it. And Darkness "wins".

If this is the case it's gonna be heart breaking to see Sora remember the Sacrifice in KH4 (if he's gonna remember it)
It would also make sence if that's what happened, cus in KH CoM in Halloween Town they mention that we forget memories/change them to better or worse, so it might come back in KH4

I though a little more, and I realized, Darkness might be trying to strip the connection between Sora and Riku. If they were to succeed at that, I theorize they would cripple the Child of Destiny, who I think are Sora and Riku. The Darkness likes to sever bonds and create animosity, and making Sora forgot True Love would do that. They don't succeed entirely, but...

    1. Shit idk how id never put that together. Sora "traversed" riku's heart to reach the world it was in, whereas he traversed different worlds to reach the other hearts in them. Kinda ironic then that the one heart he Forgot about saving was the one time he actually used the PoW correctly and he only remembers his six misuses of it lmao
    2. We might be forgetting another player in all this: Jiminy was also with Sora through that whole sequence. What good reason would he have to forget? Now that Chirithy's back in the realm of Light i wonder if we'll get to see an interaction between the two where Chirithy brings up the "six hearts" as sora said and jiminy's like "wait we saved Seven hearts not six wdym????"
    (3. "feminine leaning pronoun" well i wasn't actually expecting my Closet Transfem Riku headcanon to ever actually sprout legs but here we are)

      2. Young Xehanort explained that Jimmy and Sora are running through the Dark Abyss chasing the Lich. Darkness affects Memories, and Darkness and negative Spirits are strong in Dark Corridors. It is one of the Darkness's features. It corrupts the Heart and Memory if you don't have the Black Coat. That could be the reason.
Also, if that Chirithy is Ventus's, it makes that Chirithy connected to the Ancient Darkness that was Vanitas. And considering, Ventus died and the Darkness was inside him, it is a little suspicious. Also, Chirithy was made from Darkness by the Master of Masters, so...

I think the first round ended with Sora trying to fix everything; his goal was to prevent Riku disappearing like he did, and that's why we see him struggling so hard to get to him specifically. Because this act of true love by Riku is the event that "tears" the timeline, Sora realizes he can't prevent it. So we see it a second time, and Sora's heart breaks. As Chain of Memories established, breaking this chain of memories (literally) doesn't remove them from your heart, it just separates you from them. Sora has all the feelings and memories of Riku still within his heart, but his memory of them is shattered. He has to be put back together now.

    • @Fragmentsinfractals488

I believe The Demon Tide, (Physical Darkness) that are extensions of the Ancient Darkness as stated by the Master of Masters(Heartless are what happened when Darkness started attacking Hearts instead of just Bodies), destroyed him and unchained Riku's importance. As they (Sora and RIku) are the Child of Destiny, the Darkness is trying to Separate their Oneness.
Unchaining Memories is a Darkness power. Destroying Identities is another.

Okay, I am too much of a shipper not to love the idea that Riku's sacrifice was just so awful that Sora blocked it out and broke into literal pieces. I won't accept that as 'canon-real' until I watch the Japanese bit of Sora's conversation with that star, though. I need to know exactly what pronouns he used. CoM fans are on top of the pronoun game in the Japanese, so the fact that this commenter couldn't tell you exactly what pronouns Sora used is a bit suspicious.
Yeah, the numbers don't add up. Chirithy only counting Sora as having saved 6 hearts, when I count Aqua, Ventus, Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Axel....that's my six...and then Riku? What about the seventh? If the fact that even the Chirithy doesn't remember Riku's sacrifice, and Sora saving him, was used as part of the "Sora doesn't remember what Riku did" theory, I'd buy it. It's very strange that Chirithy isn't counting Riku as one of the hearts Sora saved. Unless...the chirithy isn't counting Ventus. I still don't understand why Sora had to save Ventus. He's pure light, just like Kairi, so he should have been swirling around that heartless tornado right alongside her.

    • @Fragmentsinfractals488
      @Fragmentsinfractals488 7 місяців тому +1

The Ancient Darkness is able to possess Ventus and puppet him around. Being Pure Light simply means you cannot make your own Darkness. But a Darkness can still find, and possess or destroy you.

@@Fragmentsinfractals488 Was Ventus born a pure heart like the princesses? This is mobile game stuff, so I am very willing to be educated. Thank you in advance! I thought Ventus became a pure heart after Xehanort ripped all of the darkness out of him. If he was always pure, just like the princesses, then he was a very special boy. For a special pure heart boy to be possessed does imply it could happen to one of the princesses. Was he possessed by a generic heartless like the ones that formed that tornado? I thought he was possessed by "ancient darkness" or some ultimate form of darkness that we don't see in the modern games - outside of Vanitas.
That's my hang-up, the idea that generic heartless in a big mob can hurt a princess when the game showed us that the tornado didn't even eat a bit of Kairi's hair. That tornado didn't hurt her. If that many heartless couldn't do it, then I can't see any heartless doing it. Maybe Xehanort's heartless, if he's the one who scared her into sending her heart to Sora for protection. But he was more of a disembodied heart, intentionally separated, than a real heartless. And he was the heart of a keyblade Master, so I consider him different from normal heartless.
It sounds like the 'darkness' in the mobile games is very different from the forms of darkness we see in the unversed, natural heartless, and emblem heartless. If those ancient darkness things (do they have a name, like heartless?) could hurt a pure hearted Ventus, then I will agree they should be able to hurt a princess as well. But Kairi wasn't facing that sort of darkness in that tornado, and the tornado did nothing to her, so I don't know what we're arguing about. Sorry~!

Nine Hearts. Jiminy was the first one he saved.
Jimmy's Story Summaries are always canon. He writes about Rikus sacrifice in the story summary for The Keyblade Graveyard. You can tell this matter because Jiminy even talks in first person within the notes. "That's when I realized I was still here, too. I encouraged Sora to explore the worlds we'd been to and free the hearts of our lost friends."
It's honestly not very clear what Sora is referring to when he means "Six Hearts" because he could even be referring to himself when he was just a soul form and got his Heart back.

    • @CocoaCatniptv
      @CocoaCatniptv  4 місяці тому +3

Technically it’d be 8 hearts if you are counting Jiminy. The thing is..Jiminy wouldn’t count in this case. Yes you could make the argument that he was saved first, but the case with Jiminy is not at all the same as with the 7 guardians whose hearts Sora restores. Jiminy just pops up and is okay.
When Sora refers to saving 6 hearts, he’s wanting to use the power of waking to save Kairi. This means the 6 hearts he would be referring to are the hearts of the guardians he saved, but again he didn’t save 6 hearts but 7. This is why Chirathy responds by telling Sora he’s misused the power of waking 6 times. I’ve seen some take this as Chirathy forgot the 7th person too, but I don’t think this is the case. I think Riku is the only one Sora saved with a proper use of the power of waking, this is why saving him is so different than it is with the other guardians.
