  • My Lee hand priming tool needed retiring. The Lee Bench Primer seemed like the logical upgrade. Very affordable as well, and I already had the Lee priming shellholders.

Great video and review of the Lee priming tool. I've been using my Turret press to prime cases up to now and have no problem with that method, except the little plastic hanger that goes on the press. When the primer holders are removed, that thing is deadly! I've scratched myself so many times in various places because that hanger is so sharp and sticks out. I'll be removing that hanger and going this route with a quick change base. Thanks! 👍

I have had this for a few years and primed more than a few 1000 cases. You just have to tap the primer tray every few case to keep them feeding and the tray adapter (AP1987A) broke but they sent me a new one right away. I do recommend it, little effort and you can feel the primers sit.

Did you ever find a hack on how to avoid having to tap the tray to keep the primers flowing?

Not sure if I can wait for your next video. ;) I'm also in the Treasure Valley so I may just need to hit up all of the smaller shops.

Stay tuned my friend. In the works. Lots of editing with the next one, and I'm far from an expert in that field.

Great video. My problem is finding priming tools for shotshells 209 primers. I have a Lee load all and can not find any kind of priming tool for off press priming. I would like to have one of these but I don't think they make a shell holder large enough for a 12 gauge or primer trays that is large enough for the 209 primer

Ram prime works for 410 if you drill the center to accept primer of shell holder 5.

I'm not saying "Hoora for me" however, I have been reloading long enough that "election time" is particularly bad for the firearms community, I have learned that Bulk buying is the way to go when the prices are on sale, a person can build up quite a nice stash of components as a lay-over supply in times like these at about 1/3 rd the cost of hyper buying, and these shortages are manufactured. there is NO shortage. just greedy people taking advantage of fellow human beings. So, as advice to others, wait, watch and listen for when the prices come back down then buy in bulk, spend as much as you would on a new firearm on components. Btw, back on the subject of the video, a bench mounted priming tool is the way to go.-Dave

That’s not always true. I wouldn’t rely on Lee for everything, but they definitely have the corner on the market on several items that don’t cost a lot but are very efficient
