Looking at these calls, I wonder, did they also call illegal cylinders on some of them? (I often look at them and wonder that, and then see the replay and see that there's additional contact going on, warranting the offensive foul those I've seen so far...)
What would be your criteria to decide between a regular offensive foul and a U? Let‘s take the first situation as an example… Seems like excessive contact, or not?
@@einargun Yeah, the problem is he's extending his arms. If the contact was more to his hands, indicating that he's attempting to prevent contact, I would call illegal cylinder on the defender.
@@Luke-pl9guThat's a clear hand checking foul (from our angle, not the referee's). I think a technical for flopping could also be justified instead of an offensive.

Good question. I think they feel this is a basketball movement, not excessive "enough".
I for one was wondering the same. I would call excessive contact -- contact to the head really quickly is, especially an elbow.
