3:52 travel before the foul
Incredible video, thank you so much. Is there any way to find more videos like this?
2:46 Brunson paused and established his right foot as his pivot. Took a step and passed the ball to the corner and was called travel violation. In one video that I've watched they were explaining that you can step thru if you're going for a layup or a pass. Clearly in this video Brunson passed it but still called a travel.
Wait, wasn’t the first by Grazulis legal includong step 0?
Greate vid. Btw at 5:30 does he possess the ball during the slip? I might say it's not essentially a travel.
They called it a travel because he lied at the floor, then tried to get up while he had the possess of the ball.. when you are down at the floor, you can't stand up and dribble, you have to either pass or shoot.
@lucasborges653 hi, FIBA rule actually allows dribbling and getting up at the same time (not grab the ball and meanwhile getting up)
How the basket at 4: 40 can count , he wasn't in his shooting motion and barely take the control of the ball when he get foul Then what the penality for the next action ' normal foul then unsportmanlike both credited to hernangomez ?
Am I the only one who thinks 2:10, 3:30 and 4:33 are just no-calls?
Thank you Einar, I called my first U yesterday thanks to your videos :D
If travels should be called there would be less fouls...
2:50 is a hideous call
9:50 is not a charge. A player without the ball is allowed free movement subjective to time and space. He caught the ball in the air, and was not allowed to land without contact.
7:17 is not a charge, it is a push by a team not in control of the ball. The score counts as the ball has left the hands before contact.
I've been anxiously waiting for the next videos for over a week 😂

Incorrect calls in NBA
thanks sir, appriciate it a lot for getting better! (to get better?)
9:52 No offensive foul ? Contact occurs on the torso off the defensiv players ?
illegal defense position
@ignasNr05 how ? Ain't he moove sideaway while mooving backward ?
4:04 goaltending ? hard call to cover this mistake from the ref with a technical Double prejudice for the away team espacially with this close game situation and only 2:45 to go
Second to last play is clearly a defensive foul when the player gets the ball back, it's actually a disgrace that it is not called (and then forces an UF from the player that got fouled)
I'm confused with the hand signals for a basket count. Some refs use two fingers to signal, while some just closed fist. Can someone explain?
Thank you once again for these amazing videos. The time you put into them is very very much appreciated ❤
yes, you makes me better in basketball play. By the way i am a basketball umpire❤
we love your videos sir thank you it helps us referees alot !❤

@@andrzejkowalski599 They call offensive foul. Orange #90 got Technical Foul for "Baiting and taunting an opponent".
@@einargun thanks for letting us know.
the first two are really obvious fouls to be fair
facts
Amazing that you always take the time to select and review these plays ! Thanks a lot ! At 9:37, blue 21 extends his left leg and trips yellow 4, then yellow 4 grabs him. Offensive foul to be called before because of moving screen ?
hey, can someone tell me why is it an unsportsmanlike on lecomte? wasn't it an accident by falling into latvian player's legs? or maybe i missed something and the illegal contact is somewhere else?
They felt Lecomte lost the ball and holds the defender so the defender can´t get the ball. It´s a C4. "An illegal contact caused by a player from behind or laterally on an opponent, who is progressing towards the opponent´s basket and with no opponents between the progressing player and the basket, and the progressing player is attempting to gain control of the ball."
@@einargun okay, thanks a lot i thought his arm just got stuck due to the fight for the ball
@@einargun He lost the ball because of a foul, not called. So very bad call. Call this way in a low level youth game and there is trouble...
I can't see a hit to the face in the second clip, shouldn't a technical foul for flopping be issued as well?
Thank you for your comment and you have a point if there is no contact on the face. But it looks like the defender touch the face at the start when he is hitting down with his hand if you play it really slow. You could talk to the player in white about he doesn´t need to exaggerate but giving him a T would be to much as this is an obvious U and a lot of contact.
@einargun I see, thanks for the clarification
green did not establish possession- wrong call resetting to 14 sec
According to FIBA Rules Interpretations, example 14-3, the ball becomes in control of Brazil as soon as he catches the ball with 2 hands.
Great vid as always sir! 💯
First play has to be reviewed and upgraded to a DQ in my opinion...
Thank uou for your analysis ❤️
@@alzhang8 thank you for watching 🏀
Is it true that these same calls in the NBA would be called for unsportsmanlike fouls in FIBA?
You mean the reckless one ? I've see some of extended legs under the shooter landing zone call as unsportmanlike in Euroleague , and some at the last wc (you can find one exemple on the at 3:23 vid "3-Point Foul- Landing Foul-FIBA Wolrd cup 2023 on this channel ) But the other one are just call as normal personnal foul " landing foul " you have some exemple in this channel to On this point it look like FIBA and NBA use the same rule
Agree with @andone2950 Reckless under the shooter have been called as Unsportsmanlike Fouls in FIBA.
So the last one should been updrade to a disqualifying foul ? Is it because the contact occurs in the head or even if this happen of the torso it should be call disqualifying ? Did they kept it unsportmanlike and didn't review it ? Nothing to do with this content but, do you know the signal for throw in foul (in the last 2) ?
Yes, this should be a Disqualifying foul. Article 38.1.1: A disqualifying foul is any flagrant unsportsmanlike action by players, substitutes, head coaches, assistant coaches, excluded players and accompanying delegation members Article 38.2.1: Acts of violence may occur during the game, contrary to the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. These should be stopped immediately by the referees. If there is a Tyson punch to the torso it is also DQ. It´s all about evaluate the "Flagrant Unsportsmanlike action". Throw in foul: First you give verbal warning then it´s a Technical Foul. If last 2 minutes of the game you show the "illegal boundary line crossing" signal. If the defender brakes the line it´s a technical foul without warning.
@@einargun Ok, thank you for your explanations By throw in foul i mean personnal foul from defensive players during throw in, in the last 2 of the 4 quarter 34-1 "when the game clock shows 2:00 or less in the fourth or each overtimd and the ball is in the hands of the referee or a disposal of the thrower-in. If at this time a défensive player illegally contacts an offensive player on the court, this is a throw-in foul unless the contact meets the criteria of an unsportmanlike foul. The player who was fouled shall attempt 1 free throw with no line up, regardless of the number of the team fouls in the fourth quarter. The game shall be resumed with a throw-in by the non-offending team from the place nearest to the infraction " They use to be call as unsportmanlike until 2 years ago But now i can't find any vidéo showing the signal for this
@@andone2950 Just a normal personal foul signal. No special sign. Then show 1 free throw.
Thanks for sharing
@sekpevirgilio1982 thank you for watching 🏀🙂
0:46 Is this what FIBA wants us to call as a "illegal cylinder" foul? I have yet to see the use of the signal outside of the webinar introducing it.
Yes, that would be correct. I had an evaluator at a provincial tournament tell me after the game that he had hoped I used it towards the end of the game, but I, like you, have never seen anyone use it or mention it outside of clinics. However, this year I will try to use it when the situation occurs; if I use it once, then I will use it more often.
Yes, correct, when player is stationary with the ball and defender goes into his cylinder. But I agree with you, this is hardly ever shown.
Interesting one at 0:40 , that's a five second closely guard violation . Do you know if this rules also applies during double team/trap ?
In the last clip white 11 pushed red 12, and the white team was still in control of the ball because the act of shooting did not start when the contact occurred. Given this, shouldn’t this be an offensive foul? I don’t think red 12 had to attempt the free throws due to the fact that the contact is an offensive foul and not a foul on the rebound. Please someone explain
Good thinking! The push foul happen before white catches the ball so it is a loose ball foul.
@@einargun i see your point, but the White team was passing the ball and not shooting, so they are in control of the ball, right? That's an interesting call and I'm going to ask some colligues what they think about this. Anyway I really appreciate your channel, great and instructive content!
@@riccardosantinon4130 They are going for the rebound after a shot. No control.
With the play at 4:18, Black 8 was able to release the ball before the shot clock expired, so the points count. However, in the same scenario where if the shot clock expired before he took his shot what would be the procedure?
Interpretations 29/50-6 "B1 fouls A1 in the act of shooting for a goal when at approximately the same time the shot clock expired. The ball enters the basket. If the ball was... a) still in A1's hands and B1's foul occured before the shot clock expired, or b) already in the air on A1's shot for a goal and B1's foul occurred before the shot clock expired, or c) already in the air on A1's shot for a goal and B1's foul occured after the shot clock expired, it is not a shot clock violation. A1's goal shall count. A1 shall attempt 1 additional free throw. The game shall be resumed as after any last free throw. d) still in A1's hands and B1's foul occured after the shot clock expired, it is a shot clock violation. A1's goal shall not count. B1's foul shall be disregarded unless it is an unsportsmanlike foul or a disqualifying foul. The game shall be resumed with a team B throw-in from the free-throw line extended."
At 4:18 there wasn’t even a call. Were they reviewing if he got the ball off in time? Because they can’t call a normal foul after review, can they?
@@lukrister The referees meet and decide that the foul occurred before the signal sounded. They also realize that the game clock did not stop when the foul was called and decide to review the IRS to correct the game clock.
@@einargunI see it now! I didn’t hear the whistle, but the lead ref clearly calls a foul. And that’s why they review if he got the ball off in time 👍🏻
@@lukrister F 3-3 : The following game situations may be reviewed at any time of the game: • after a malfunction of the game clock or the shot clock occurs, on how much time the clock(s) shall be corrected. They can only check last 2 min for Shot clock violation.
