I have Aphantasia and pareidolia as well. Whithout your podcasts I would assume that people see the same world I see. Now, I know we have 8 billion brains on earth.

So interesting episode! "It's not racism, it's neuroscience"))) I remember the Brain series, where you talked about people with botox who fail to imitate the facial expressions.
I also remembered film theorist Béla Balázs who wrote that interpretation of the facial emotions is the key to understand a movie. There could be a facial conflict, when an actor expresses one emotion and hide another. For Balázs the face is multilayer, it has different surfaces, levels. People with prosopagnosia will miss that key cinematic aspect, when an actor says one thing, but his face tells something different.

Best channel in youtube. Dude I admire you very much, am a 22 year old boy from bangalore india. Your podcast is the best, your podcast is the only podcast I listen in the world.
I love to see a podcast on our brain on trance states and how being in trance effects our body and mind.
And topics on religion and history, like how the first language was created. Or how the first culture was created.
And topics like if I time travel to middle ages or even past how would we behave and survive.
These are my requests, am just too excited to see you explain these.

Great video! So pleased to have found your podcast.
Yes, indeed, not (easily) recognizing faces really, really sucks.
Here’s what I don’t understand. I’m a programmer and security researcher. I’m really quite good at finding/recognizing patterns. Faces are just patterns, right? WTF?
No problem with immediate family. However, extended family, coworkers, and casual acquaintances are very challenging.
Older faces seem to be a bit easier.
