skateboardstre...
needed to see this, after around twoish weeks of skateboarding my ankle has been in incredible pain, now I can see why
Thanks man, I am a 49 year old skateboarder that been though a lot on my board.
story of a skateboarder mate. It's a tough life haha hope this stuff helps 👊🏼
Dude! What a much needed channel, focused on something that effects a lot of people. Great idea!
thank you I appreciate the support 👊🏼
This is awesome, im going to do a lot of this as a new skater who is relatively skinny/weak!
gonna give this a try, been dealing with hot pockets for about 1.5 years now in my back foot
Amazing video. You break it down perfectly!
thanks homie appreciate it 👊🏼
Amazing video! Very well explained, really straightforward demonstration. I'll make sure to add the training protocols to my weekly routine!
Thank you for this!
no worries. Be sure to download the free program as well it is all in there and mapped out for you 👊🏼
The Stoked Ride Shop weekly newsletter sent me here. This is super super helpful.
awesome to hear 👊🏼
I just started skating again at 26. I’ve been working from home and let myself go but I started working out and skating again. I just have issues with getting strains easily after maybe 10 mins of basic tricks or just riding around.
Today I got an ankle roll and at that very painful one 😅 was trying high drop and man it hurts 🤕 , so from next time I will try to do exercises to mke my ankle little more adaptive to drop and shock absorbing
Thank you, it has been very helpful to improve my pop and improve my mobility in my ankles. 🌀
you been doing the program already?
fire! Keep going on!
thanks homie
appreciate this content. love learning about this side of sk8ing… all of our bodies are saying thank you 🤙🏾
no worries, glad it can help
New skater here, love the Chanel and instagram page! Absolute legend looking after us like this?
How do I get the full program exercise list?
@@NicholasCarter-ej7sv hey G, thanks for the kind words. Should be a download link in the description. Otherwise head to www.skateboardstrength.com and you can find the free download there 👊🏽
Hey man love the channel because ive been dealing with serious muscle imbalances because of skateboarding my whole life, while barley skating switch.
I am just wondering when you do your videos what stance you skate in? I ask because it makes it easier for me to see what would be better for one side rather than another. My neck to my feet work totally different on my left and right side it’s very frustrating.
Again, just wondering what stance you skateboard in as it would help me navigate your channel better.
all the exercises I give you you are going to want to do for both side's regardless of where the pain is mate so that doesn't really matter 👊🏼
What are your thoughts on me doing this 3 times a week, general strength training 2 times a week, and actual skateboarding 2 times a week for someone who is new getting into skateboarding???
Id say it's a little excessive. If you got a good quality strength training program it should incorporate a lot of this in there as well. Id be more looking at 2 strength sessions a week, 1 specific foot calf and ankle day, 2 skate sessions as a starting point.
@@skateboardstrength9834 gotchya, thanks man! I plan to be doing all of the leg exercises recommended in your leg exercises for skateboarders video, along with some push-ups and ab work for strength training twice a week! Seriously great content here, it was exactly what I was looking for
so good, thank you!
thank you 🙏🏽
Can you please post full-length follow-along strength training videos (full sets of reps) ? I am not able to follow a lot of your exercises because of how quick the explanations are even though they seem very valuable.
I have posted a few on here you should check those out. There rest can be found in the skateboard strength app as part of the ultimate skate performance program 👊🏼
Keep making videos
thanks g ill do my best 👊🏼
can you do an ankle roll prevention workout on UA-cam?
thats exactly what this is mate 😉
Getting back after tibia, fibula and ankle fracture. I need all the support and strength I can get more so than non injury people. Do you recommend knee, anke support compression and orthotic insoles with metatarsal pads and arch support in flat skate shoes? I do strength training too.
I don't skate anymore, at 58 I just don't think that's wise. But I'd enjoy it if I could do it safely! However when I was young and skating every day, in jr. high and high school, every day two or three hours of skating on flat land, I built HUGE thighs and massive strength. Without ANY other exercises. I could EASILY leg press a thousand pounds and bounce 500 pounds off my toes like it was a joke. My thighs were busting the seams of my jeans. Skateboarding on flat land is INCREDIBLE leg exercise.
i wear superfeet insoles in my shoes which provide support in my arch. It is possible that because of this, my feet can't fully collapse the arch when my ankle rolls forwards?
Thanks for the video as well, its well interesting to know how our ankle works and how to make it stronger
I am not familiar with those supports but you do want to make sure you get a support that does allow some give and is not completely rigid
