    That was very helpful thank you! I’ve watched it a few times now. I bought a set of auto tools this last job and exactly like you said.... you want to go back to doing it by hand! By the end of the job we were just beginning to become .... well... fair at it.
    Regardless of how crappy we were at using the boxes properly, it got the mud on the walls for us!!
    Thank you again!

    It makes me happy that you let him practice and were very helpful in explaining why he was failing. And the fact that it takes time too! Very helpful to watch someone else learn aswell. It's like being in a classroom environment

    I am going to be getting some of these tools for working on my house. Thanks for giving me realistic expectation on how it will go when I start using them. All the videos I have seen, they are always perfect, which is unrealistic for a first timer.

    He should be very thankful, you allow him to learn on site. Here in California nobody wants to teach anyone, they have a “if he learns he might be better than me and take my position”.

      My stance is the more he knows the less I have to do myself. 😂

    Hey I remember when I started doing this by my self without not one to teach me cuz the guy who show me how to do the nails didn't wanna show me more cuz didn't want to pay more. But I learned fast, and with 6 month I was he's competition and he didn't like it it all.then I built up and did exactly what are you doing now.god bless you great stuff.

    the most important thing with the nail spotter, make sure the screws are properly sunk ahead of time or you'll go through blades like crazy. Also make sure any screw misses that the paper is pushed back or cut out of the blade will catch and rip off a strip of paper. Honestly, as long as I have been doing it, I prefer to fill screws by hand. I'm just as fast. but then I started back in the 80's doing it all by hand before starting to use the taping tube and boxes a few years later.

    Awesome show of patience..gotta learn somehow. Always hand taped, looking into buying tools and learning myself..thank you for the tutorial.

      No problem bro I suggest you start off with a 10 " box , handle and pump. Very next thing would be something to help finish the corners since those take the longest to hand coat.

    Why are they so big on level 5 in your area? I know it's important for light exposed areas. But I don't understand why the whole house gets it.

    • @csdrywallhawaii
      @csdrywallhawaii  3 роки тому +1

      Good question I prefer a solid level 4 but 5 is good for business if the price is right.

    When do drywalling pros sand after first coat or the last coat of Mudd how do one know if they Sand to far?,

    • @csdrywallhawaii
      @csdrywallhawaii  3 роки тому

      Got to sand after each coat to knock down any over laps and edges. Then a final finish sand after all the coats are applied.

Sounds like the trowel bar is bent lay it flat on a level surface and look at how it reacts when changing the tension dial. A replacement piece runs about 100 at allwall. If not send it in to get serviced and that way you know you'll get taken care of.
