Two places that you didn’t mention that both open and concealed carry is prohibited are Post Offices and hospitals.
Actually general hospitals are NOT "off limits" by state law for LTC holders. As far as the post office, federal locations do NOT follow state law and Texas state law is not written for federal property. You can assume all federal places are off limits by federal law...
@@PointBlankCHL correct, all federal property prohibits carrying by civilians, I actually saw a 1st Amendment audit video where an armed cop was caught on film in the post office collecting his personal mail. I wonder if that violated federal law? considering the cops only reason for carrying in a post office was to collect his personal mail
I’m seeing 30. 05 signs in restaurants now. Why not 30.06 and 30.07 signs not used?

@@JohnsonDaChumplie 30.05 only applies to permitless carry. However, even if there is no legally valid 30.06 or 30.07 sign posted in a conspicuous location, the owner or someone representing the owner of the property can give you verbal notice that you are not allowed to carry, and at that point you must leave.
I’m sure the outlaws will abide buy this.

Although I have never EVER seen a liquor store that didnt have 30.05 and 30.06 placards posted. (we all know how well licensed carry people obey THOSE signs...)

Great video, great information. I have been LTC for years but I’m trying to convince my wife of the benefit of being LTC. To me it is very clear but when talking to some non LTC people, they seem to believe if they are LTC then they will be held responsible for things that they otherwise would not be if no LTC. My every day care is a Springfield Commander 9mm 1911, although I will carry my Kimber 3” 45 1911. I always conceal to try and avoid being the first target😂. Thank you for helping people understand more about gun laws.

Wow theres a lot more restrictions in Texas than Missouri it seems. In Missouri CHL holders usually can't face criminal charges for carrying in most of these places as long as if asked to leave they do. I have a CHL but I don't usually carry, but when I do I carry a Glock 29(10mm).
You are correct, Oklahoma also has fewer restrictions than Texas....It's crazy. Texas is not as red as people think it is....

Gen 3 is my favorite! Our class guns are all gen 3 19’s. I don’t care for the gen 5 triggers.

Can I conceal carry at a sports complex where your children play sports and where they are not sponsored by any school?
New Texas law requires "school sponsored" events to be held on property owned by the school for it to be off limits under "school sponsored" events.

With "Constitutional Carry" legal as of 9-1-21 will you do an update on this as the signage issue will change. The posted 30.06, 30.07, and now a 30.05 sign, lots of folks are going to be very confused. Also, be aware the new CC law will allow officers to stop and question and disarm you just for carrying. This is going to be a goatrope of epic proportions for a few months I'm afraid.

Nothing changes for those with a LTC, same signs and same places "off limits" b y state law.For permitless carry ANY no gun or gun buster signs are valid. Police can't just "stop" anyone just based on the fact that they are carrying a gun, if you are stopped by police for some other reason they can and always have had the right to disarm you while dealing with you license or not...

IMO. I don’t follow signage at all because well, I don’t let me rights and ability to self defense stop at a doorway. Also I think to myself, if a politician were to walk in here would he or she, and or their armed security leave their guns in the car? That answer is no. Therefore mine is also no.
Your right do indeed stop at the doorway and the rights of the property owner start at the doorway. No different than the doorway to your house. What you commented is NOT what the constitution says.

I'm with you, my comment was that private business owners have the right to not allow carry on their private property. Our rights don't apply to private property, the property owners rights apply even if I don't agree with them....

I carry an m&p shield .40
That’s a great gun, one of the ones I recommend often. I carry a Glock 19 most days and either a Shield in 9mm or a Glock 43x when I need something light.
@@PointBlankCHL I’m tempted to trade it in for the shield 9 plus, for the better capacity but I’d be left with a couple thousand rounds of .40

I applaud the Gov signing the permitless carry several years ago. HOWEVER...it takes a weekend and a few bucks to get the Texas LTC, which gives amazing 'oops' factors in many places including airports and other federally mandated areas. Plus it gives one a bit of training, which should be continued throughout the years. I carry all day, every day and it's just too hot where I live to be wearing two shirts--aka concealed carry. I go through my day. I go to the bank, the wine shed (package store), on call to pick up a friend's child from school, grocery store, restaurants of all kinds, Wally World, Lowe's, you name it. I live in a mostly blue city of ¾ million and have never once been 'called in' or even stopped by the police who are manning Walmart. Be responsible, get training, get a licence, don't play stupid games and it should all go pretty well.

Historical fact, handguns were taken (smuggled) into a Texas prison in the early 70's and that prison was Huntsville, the only Texas prison that conducts executions. They were used In a botched escape attempt where both hostages and escapees were killed.

Actually we don't have "real" constitutional carry in Texas. We have a watered down version called "permitless carry".

Well, any business can prevent carry in their place of business either by posting the proper sign or with a verbal notice like a pat down at the door.

That depends on the jury. In Hereford or Ft. Davis you will likely be ok. In Austincisco or Houstago, you're screwed.
Federal buildings are off limits. Meaning the federal government is breaking the law by not allowing carry.
This video was about places off limits under Texas law....But yes, most federal properties are off limits but Texas has no authority over them.

For a free red state, Texas has an awful lot of carry restrictions. I live in purple Pennsylvania and we enjoy much more concealed carry freedom.

@@PointBlankCHL Absolutely. It's more or less for protection if everyone, although I strongly disagree with it, I have to follow the law if I don't want to be in a cage. The pure and simple way to avoid charges is to leave it locked in your vehicle, out if sight. Then, they can't get you for anything.

There's a difference between government-imposed restrictions and private party restrictions so it depends on who is the one imposing.
If you are in a mall, Memorial City for example, they allow concealed handguns, but what if a business inside of the mall has a sign that says no concealed handguns, does the mall's pro gun policy trump the business?
In a mall “the mall” is actually the walkways to the individual stores. Each individual store can have it’s own policies that are separate from “the mall”.

Time for a new video. Much of this has changed to some degree, both by statutes and court decisions.
None of these places have changed at all and there are no court decisions or changes in Texas law that changed any of these places. These places are still off limits. My company is huge and I have 400 instructors across the state of Texas. I am also at every legislative session and have gotten many laws passed or improved.

I saw a video of yours recently that said LTC can carry if a 51% is not posted and has the right to leave before being charged. Is that true?
That is 100% true. A few things in the law changed this past session and now for LTC holders a 51% must be posted BUT for permitless carry they are required to know it's a bar and can be charged with a felony regardless if a sign is posted or not....
Maybe but better not be over the legal driving limit for alcohol content or you can probably get charged for wearing a gun while intoxicated which is usually a misdemeanor of felony depending on the state, although in some states it's legal to be drunk while carrying so it depends.
I'm afraid your listing is missing important places like medical facilities like hospitals, clinics and medical centers.

No I did not because the state of Texas does NOT make ANY laws regarding places owned by the federal government. A post office is NOT off limits by ANY state carry law. It's off limits by federal law.

You have to have a Texas License To Carry to do that...When Texas passed Permitless Carry they left permit carry people to abide by federal law and school zones are a prohibited place under federal law UNLESS you have a license to carry issued by the same state the school is located in....With a license to carry you could actually carry a handgun all the way up to the school door and wait for your child, you just can't go in the building..

The law treats the two as the same. Business can prevent one or the other though so the answer is it depends on the business and what signs they have posted.

Depends on where you want to carry and if you are ok with all of the restrictions with permitless carry. My guess is that 99% of people don't even know what the restrictions are until they get in trouble. I have around 5 hundred online LTC students a month so people are still getting the license. Permitless carry was a good start but it needs to be better.
In a restaurant in Texas a couple of years ago. Sign said
"The unlicensed possession of a weapon on these premises is a felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine not to exceed $10,000."

I have been to restraunts that had a bar with the Texas 30-06 sign prohibiting firearms.
Congratulations on being to restaurants with these signs. That makes up about 99% of all Texans.
Restraunts with bar sections in them are still not considered bars. They are not 51% businesses.

If you don't have a license you can't travel anywhere in a town or city or you will be committing a felony.

Your vehicle is still an extension of your home, doesn't matter what's near.
@coupe50h yes it does. Read the law. Without a LTC it is illegal to come within a thousand feet of any public or private school. According to your logic you can park at a post office with your gun in your car....You CANNOT. That is a federal crime.

Military bases are not part of Texas law, no federal government is part of Texas law and no Texas law applies to federal property. The federal government makes their own laws when it comes to their property and do not fall under state law, so no, I didn’t forget.
