Doing the Lord's work yet again . Nice work. I used some textured brushes in a big scene recently and it got really heavy and laggy. Hope they can optimise gp in the future
yeah I had the same problem with textured brushes, that was my intention with these and my last brushes, to get cool effects without having to use textures. I think these ink brushes are a bit more demanding than my watercolour ones but so far so good on my end :)
You are a genius Sophie J - this is so exciting! and thank you too for showing us (me) how to keep the brushes in our GP files.. I can't wait to try out these brushes and stamps - it's totally up my alley 🤩👏😎
Amazing as always! Thanks a lot for your contribution. Btw this makes me wonder if it would be possible to create procedurally generated textures for GP drawing brushes (I mean the ones you could drag :D ) to get some organic and natural feel similar to your stump brushes.
I just found your channel and your videos are amazing! Because of you I finally might start using blender for bigger projects. Tell me when you get Patreon because I can't accept that this content is free :D
We can do this type of stuff in blender? wow i never knew. And your art looks amazing and lovely. You're very charismatic and made me interest on the process, maybe trying in the future. already subscribed.
I'm not sure what's up with the brushes I've appended...when I make a stroke they come out with the opacity really light and faded. I have to turn off the pen pressure setting so I can get a similar stroke to the ones made in this video. Great content as always!
I saw your artworks at my twitter’s feed and immediately fall in love ✨ incredible works, thank you so much for your tutorial videos! And I’m happy to know that you have Gumroad ❤️
Great video...thank you. Just a suggestion, you cud use a lofi music, intro name logo which can add a +1 to your tutorials.. You can discard my suggestion tho. Love your work...Keep it up 😊👍
I appreciate your suggestions! Although can I ask what you mean by 'add a +1 to your tutorials'? And regarding the music, I personally have a lot of trouble focusing on talking when there is background music, and for that reason I'd rather not add music. But I appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you like my videos :)
@@SophieJantak By a '+1' i mean is that, there r few things that adds professional look to UA-cam videos...like you must hv seen in other popular videos or tutorials... Like lofi music, good editing, and maybe a intro title. But otherwise your tutorials are great on the topic! ✌️ Yes, i agree music might be distracting for some but i hv noticed that low volume lofi music of any kind keeps the attention of audience for longer if the video is longer. (Also I mean adding the music later in post-production after u hv recorded ur videos) Again, I'm no one to suggest 😅 but i like your genuine nature in your videos n information u offer.. thot i should atleast offer sm kind of feedback.. keep it up Sophie 😊👍
Sophie, your tutorials are a complete lifesaver for my Master's Thesis project! Thank you for sharing your passion and wisdom with us all. I downloaded these brushes, but am having a weird issue where the strokes look the same amongst all the brushes and are coming out blocky and jagged, rather than smooth and organic like what you're demonstrating. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi, I downloaded your brush However, it was found that there were two information files, one with the mark precision and the other without, Should I download both files? Or just one?
Hey, thanks for checking out my brushes! So it's up to you which one(s) to get, I made this short video ua-cam.com/video/FA4keGnKmFA/v-deo.html explaining the difference between the two and why I made a new version. Personally, even though I started by using the 'original' brushes, I now mainly use the 'precise' brushes - they have less geometry, so less demanding on my file, and overall they look neater :)
They look like black squares when you view your scene in Object Mode - you need to be in either Material Preview Mode or Render Mode to see the stamps. let me know if that helped!
Hi thanks for sharing, but somehow i cannot add your brush to my blender project, when i click "append" i cannot search the downloaded file from you. Do you by chance know how can i make it?
Ok, I commented that I was having issues with the brushes "sticking" in Blender. Well 5days later I got them to stay in Blender, they are there every time I open it now. Not sure if it was the "fake user" button or what, but they're in there now. Thanks. I do see the issue with fast and slow strokes, I'll look into ur fix if needed.
Wow! These look great! One question I keep having issues with in GP for texture brushes: I've noticed a lot of repeating texture brushes change the repeating distance depending on the zoom. If I zoom out all the way it looks like dots, but when I zoom all the way in the texture looks correct, but it's much better for me to draw zoomed out for thumbnailing and storyboarding. I'm gonna try all these out but I think the problem I've been having might affect these too. Would love to know if you've encountered that and know how to fix it?
thanks a lot for these. I'm still having issues to get them to stay in Blender w/o having to load them each time. they won't save. If they won't save I might not use them due to not wanting to load them everytime.
yooo, they look so good! didnt even know you could do this with grease pencil oO.. such a awesome tool.. would be loving a tutorial on how to make these so i can import some from clipstudio paint n stuff :o love your content, keep it up! defenetly subscribed so i dont miss anny! Also: how did you just draw from few at 6:26 lol.. every time i try this without using the 3D curser as drawing origin my lines get realy fucked up and dont end up where i want them to be.. would be cool to know how to achive this behaviour
Hey, thanks! That would make for an interesting tutorial for sure, I mostly just play around with settings, but I'd be interesting to see how those settings compare to other drawing programs! And your second question, for that piece I was drawing with the stroke placement set to "stroke" and the drawing plane at "View". If you want to see the process in detail, in my beginner tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/NA3wZBC1Nvw/v-deo.html Section 3 at 15:04 covers it. It's tricky to get the hang of (I avoided it for months!!) but with a bit of practice it's become my favourite way to make grease pencil strokes :D
Hey Sophie, thank you very much for your tutorial and the the free brushes, I've been struggling a great deal of time with this. You've got a new subscriber!
@@SophieJantak With the spacing of a brush you decide when the brush repeats. For example if the brush is on 100% it repeats without overlapping. If it is set to 25% the brush repeats ones when a quarter of the radius is moved. This way you can create a more "choppy" look or a more flowing look.
@@jesperj86 Interesting! I guess there are a few equivalents for grease pencil strokes, settings to determine how many vertices are created. In the brush settings, in stroke, and in post-processing, you have subdivision step which increases the vertex count and simplify that reduces it. Higher vertex count is more demanding but necessary for complex brushes and especially textured brushes (that's actually the reason my computer can't handle textured brushes and why I try to make mine a BIT more lightweight)
omg my grease pencil queen. im running away to gimroad to show you my admiration. please keep on pushing grease pencil forward
Hey thanks Logan! I appreciate it :D

Wanted to say that your work has inspired me to pick up Blender! It’s really magical just panning and rotating a 3D painting!
That's what I think! Happy to report that almost a year into using Blender, the WOW-factor of 3D drawing hasn't worn off yet XD thank you!
stamp attack! im into this.
You're an inspiration honestly, sincerely from another 2D artist converting to 3D

Enough. I have to stop the video and comment HOW GOOD ARE YOU AT DRAWING FOXES!!!
I currently us Krita for my 2D frame by frame animation. can I switch to Blender and use those brushes ?

Is there any chance these brushes can be used in something like photoshop? Or, since they were created in blender, they cant be used anywhere else.

Hi - I downloaded your stamps, but after I've applied them to a drawing, they turn into black squares. What can I do about that? thanks!

Amazing! thank u so much.
Thank you! I'm wondering if brushes in blender are interchangeable , such as, could I use these brushes in texture paint mode on an object?
I'm not sure, as I've never done any texture painting on objects, but the brushes are free to download if ever you'd like to give it a try?

Here i am for the 2nd time not because of the tutorial(that is awesome) but for her cute face. So much love 😍 from india 🇮🇳
Can this be used to draw on top of images, it would be way easier to create highlights for images.
