The best part of the battle was Mewtwo saying "Sayonara" before killing Shadow, just like Vegeta did when he killed Shadow.
It's also what Sonic said to Shadow after he "died" in Sonic Adventure 2

I don't think it's fair that they don't give Sonic and Shadow their hyper forms, although I still don't see him beating Mewto, he would've given Vegeta a much better battle

+XxWales15xX To be fair, Hyper Mode is only canon to Sonic 3 and I think one comic. They're mainly using the TV series (Sonic X) and the modern games. If they did give Shadow everything, he'd have his upgrades from Sonic Adventure 2 and all his weapons from Shadow the Hedgehog.

Death Battle didn't mention Mega Mewtwo X because they're using data from the animated series and movies, of which Mega Mewtwo X has yet to appear.
Well that and mega mewtwo x stats aren't nearly as good as y, and the fighting type gives him more weaknesses

I think the reason they disregard Mega-Mewtwo X is because there's no evidence it's a form Mewtwo knows how to utilize without a trainer

You know, I've always wondered why they never used any of Shadow's Archie feats.
Jonathan Rahija because Archie shadow would end this battle in seconds.
They treat non-canon information and feats as supporting evidence. In the Death Battle Cast for Ryu vs. Jin, they mention that, in the comics, Ryu can teleport across the entire planet. He can't do anything like this in canon, so they didn't count it. However, they did count Akuma shattering the meteor, since he's done things nearly as impressive in canon. They wouldn't use many of Archie Shadow's feats (which are basically Universe+ level, if not beyond) because he's never displayed any semblance of power CLOSE to that in the games - the closest is when Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and Super Silver all together defeated Solaris - and even then they were only able to by attacking the place his soul was tied to via the Chaos Force. It's expressly stated in-game that they wouldn't stand a chance against his full might.

Mewtwo was destined for the win. Shadow was a Sega version of Vegeta and Mega Mewtwo Y strongly represents Freeza, and we all know how THAT fight turned out.

17:06 When I first saw this I thought after reading Shadow's past especially the very sad fact about Maria😢😢😢, Mewtwo seeing it with it's own mind that they were both created for similar reasons and that they suffered similarly, would take pity on Shadow and end the fight and call it a tie.

I call bullshit for two reasons. One - Shadow HAS some level of mental resistance which was proven at finale of shadow the hedgehog game from 2004 when he was the only one out of sonic gang to resist black dooms paralysing mind control. So taking control over him would bot go as easily as they have depicted it would. Two - while it is hard to fight against who knows all your moves you CANT defend yourself against someone who moves at light speed and can control the fabric of time and space itself. It is very possible that Mewtwo would not be able to use most if his powers. But the result is what it is. I just wanted to point those two things out.
Did you know that IN Sonic Adventure 2, the game he premiered in, Shadow actually debated with HIMSELF whether or not Sonic was actually the ultimate lifeform. It's in the final boss fight right around the four minutes mark of the boss fight. Then Sonic mentions it again near the start of the end credits sequence.

Mega mewtwo X was left out because canonically, Mewtwo can only become Mega Mewtwo Y without a trainer.

Alright since you guys seem to be doing more of Death Battle (and I suggested this one a few times) you guys should do Kirby vs. Majin Buu, probably one of the best 2D fights out of Death Battle (my opinion at least).

The inhibitor rings are also there cause, if I remember correctly, he'll faint cause Shadow's power is kinda spilling out and it needs to be contained or it can be very dangerous to his life force... I think this is the reason, not entirely sure so please don't kill me internet.

Funny, I wanted to pick Shadow but had to go with Mewtwo. Granted, I grew up with Sonic and not Pokemon, so I don't really care for the Pokemon anime stuff and only know him from the games and Pokemon Origins, where he isn't nearly as powerful. Shadow, on the other hand, could win if Mewtwo couldn't read his mind, because his durability and offense are both higher than Mewtwo's in-game.
On a different note, I get more and more tired of the Death Battle style every time I watch a new episode... They don't go nearly in depth enough, and it's 90% favoritism and 10% comparisons between fictional worlds and the real world XD
