I still just love the fact that Wukong was here like.
"So what method to get immortality do you want?"
"A L L
O F
T H E M"
As voiced by Gary Oldman
Well if fear only death there's no kill like over kill
Piccolo: ALL OF THEM?!
Apparently if they had used Wukong at his best he would have been the most powerful character they have used on the show. They had to nerf both of these guys for this
I mean he is a Buddha... not THE Buddha but there are gods and then there are those who transcend the very concepts of existence.
True dat. If they had included the godhood stuff for both characters, this fight still would've resulted in Wukong winning.
No one can beat Wu Kong. It would take both Jesus Christ, Allah, Yahweh, Buddha, and God the *Father in Heaven* to beat Wu Kong.
@@coolgamers2794 Aren't God, Allah, and Yahweh all basically the same being?
@@zacharyfrierson6972 Yes; they are transpired to be the one *True God* of all of existence beyond the cosmos and dimensions. Which is why in real life the Devil and evil spirits flee when they hear people use *God's name* to rebuke all evil. They are extensions of *God the father.**So put it this way; all the other religions interpretation of God draws back to the one true God we worship in religions.*
Even discounting the immortality, Sun Wukong is the first Shounen anime protagonist with the powerset of an 80s toy cartoon. Not to mention in context he's pretty much second only to Buddha himself, which is basically the ancient Chinese equivalent of _the Omni-King._ Herc stood 0 chance.
Now you need to check out Overly Sarcastic Productions' recap of Journey to the West.
More one above all then omni king.
I really hope he checks out OSP they do just really good stuff and a fun way to learn mythology
lol you speak of those who must not be named, although I love how dumb the omni kings are
Ngl, they downplayed the shit out of them, as far as I know Sun Wukong should be high outerversal with irrelevant speed, and I'd assume Hercules should to since he scales above the likes of Zeus in strength
@@-_-murilo2865 How exactly does he scale above his own father and the literal KING of Grek Gods?
Heracles is Greek.
Hercules is Roman.
Hope this clarifies things. The Romans liked to copy the Greeks but change the names of the characters. They didn’t even bother changing Apollo’s name.
Copyrights weren't around during Roman times. And if they had been, the Romans probably took one look at the Greeks' copyright claim, then sent their legions to conquer Greece. "What's that? Copyright claim? Well now you're part of Rome! No more claim! Veni, vidi, vici!"
@@Brasc They probably payed for the dubbing rights and decided to change the names like foreign shows used to do. 😂
@@calebgoodman3028 This is likely.
I didn’t even know that they copied them
@@theduckgoesmoo Roman gods are basically renamed greek gods.
Mercury = Hermes
Venus = Aphrodite
Mars = Ares
Jupiter = Zeus
Saturn = Cronus
Neptune = Poseidon
Pluto = Hades
And yes, the planets are named mostly after the roman variants.
This was a really great battle, pitting two mythological heroes against each other! Loved the visuals of the battle! The ink splatters with each strike, the characters going to different parts of the scroll, the narration… it was truly a striking and epic clash!
Took me until now to realize this was possibly done as the Okami style intentionally.
My guess is the theme was popularized myths or something along those line, since both have essentially become roots for other characters in pop culture to draw inspiration from.
If and when they bring back Heracles he needs to go up against either Gilgamesh or Maui. Both are better matchups for him, and could be interesting or delve into.
The 12 Labours were as follows:
1. Slay the Nemean Lion. It couldn't be hurt by any blades, so he choked it to death and skinned it with its own claws.
2. Slay the Lernean Hydra. Every time he cut off a head, two more grew back. So he cut them off and got his nephew to cauterize the stumps. Because he had help, Eurystheus said it didn't count.
3. Capture the Ceryneian Hind. This deer was so fast that it could outpace arrows, and as it was sacred to Artemis, he was not allowed to harm it. He caught it in a trap net while it was sleeping, and when Artemis confronted him about it, he told her of the task he'd been assigned. She agreed to let him take it as long as he returned it to the wild unharmed when he was done, which he did.
4. Capture the Erymanthean Boar. His teacher Chiron advised him to drive it into deep snow, so he did that.
5. Clean King Augeas' stables. His divine livestock were immortal and pooped a lot, there were over 1000 of them, and the stables hadn't been cleaned in 30 years. He diverted two rivers to do it. Because of that (and because he got paid in return), Eurystheus said this one didn't count.
6. Defeat the Stymphalian birds. Man-eating birds with beaks of bronze, toxic dung, and sharp metallic feathers that they could launch at victims. That's where he used the kotalas, which were crafted by Hephaestus himself. He then shot the startled birds down until the flock fled the area.
7. Capture the Cretan Bull. He snuck up on it, throttled it without killing it, and shipped it back to the king, who ended up releasing it because Hera refused his sacrifice, as that would reflect glory of Heracles.
8. Steal the Mares of Diomedes. Violent flesh-eating horses that could breathe fire. There are multiple ways it goes, but in all of them, he calms them by feeding them their own master's corpse and binds their mouths shut.
9. Steal the Belt of Hippolyta. The Queen of the Amazons agreed to give it to him willingly, but Hera snuck in among the Amazons and spread a rumor that he was planning to steal her away. When the army came to confront him, he was convinced that she had been plotting to betray him all along, so he killed her and took it.
10. Steal the Cattle of Geryon. First, he killed the giant Geryon with one of his Hydra blood arrows. Then he had to herd these cows all the way back, with Hera getting in the way every time. Turning into a gadfly to sting and annoy them, and flooding a river so that they could not cross (he just piled stones in there until the water level went down). He also had to deal with another giant stealing some of them along the way, using a trick from known cattle-thief Hermes. He just drove the remaining cattle near where the stolen cows were being kept so that they would call out for each other.
11. Steal the Golden Apples of the Hesperides. He persuaded Atlas to get them for him in exchange for temporarily taking on his burden. Atlas didn't want to go back initially, so he tricked him by basically saying 'could you hold this for a moment while I adjust my cloak?'
12. Capture Cerberus. He basically asked uncle Hades if he could take Spot out for a walk, and Hades said 'sure, as long as you don't use weapons'. So he slung the big puppy over his shoulders and carried him.
Just to add extra on the very last labour:
*Yes, Cerberus's name also means Spots.*
If you want to learn more of Sun Wukong, I suggest looking up Overly Sarcastic Productions.
They can be a bit fast paced during their early videos, but they do a deep dive into the Journey to the West, as the book slowly devolves into a monster-a-week pattern. So OSP just picks them out at random and whacky hijinks ensue.
I would love to see his reactions to it
I'd definitely suggest the channel too. Finally got me to read the book, you won't believe how fun the stories still are when read today.
Agreed!
This reminds me of one of the favorite DBZA bits:
Trunks: “So you’re Sun Wukong, right?”
Trunks’ Inner Mind: “DAMMINT”
Goku: “I’m Son Goku, yes 😊”
Trunks’ Inner Mind: “…………..Roll with it”
Oh my god I remember being confused by that
well, Son Goku is the Japanese pronunciation of Sun Wu Kong.
"Can he beat Goku"
Sun Wukong: *Laughs hysterically*
You fool... HE IS GOKU THE *BETTER GOKU*
technically both are the same since db Goku is sun Wukongs toriyama parodic version
Wu Kong easily solos the entire Marvel, DC, Dragon Ball, and all other universe in both fiction and non-fiction. LOL. Here is a big hint: Wu Kong's power is equal to that of *God the Father* in all religions. Wu Kong= The most powerful character ever. Not even Popeye or The Mask can beat him.
@Ambrose Contreras considering the fact that superman isn't invincible, just really tough unlike wu kong who is invincible to almost everything.
@@coolgamers2794 Technically "below". Juuust "technically", on the account of Buddha being basically God's (human) equivalent.
Even then I added *technically* for a reason.
This was based on the actual myths as opposed to some animation version of them. I knew Sun Wukong would win because he's one of the most OP mythical characters _ever._
Is that just because he’s an old myth? I feel like the further back you go the more wild things get
@@theduckgoesmoo herc is a much older character than sun wukong, but yes journey to the west is quite old.
@@theduckgoesmoo It is rather complicated. Journey to the West was a 16th Century novel but monkeys have been a important part in Chinese mythology since at least 3/4th century BC.
Myths of Hanuman the monkey like Hindu god made its was into China along the silk road and also greatly influenced the character of Wukong, much like how Gilgamesh influenced Heracles.
There's a reason Wukong is one of the most OP mythical characters EVER. Cause of the crazy stuff he's pulled off. In his own verse, he's the strongest being in existence behind Buddha, who is basically his verse's supreme deity.
Sun Wukong was basically a Chinese anime character that had toon force hundreds of years before the invention of animation.
Heracles stood no chance.
Boba Fett's story is pretty parallel to the "mainline" Star Wars plot, so unless they talk a lot about his "dad" Jango and Star Wars Episode 2, there will be minimal spoilers. He appears too little in the movies to matter in that regard as well.
That said, I'm a huge Clone Wars era nerd and little Boba is every bit a mandalorian as his "father". He should be able to take the Predator.
Ke nu'jurkadir sha Mando'ade.
If you don't know who Sun Wukong is, well, he's one of the main characters from the 7th century chinese epic Journey To The West, and is the inspiration for about half of all shonen anime protagonists. He's about Infinitely immortal and thoroughly kicked the collective asses of heaven and hell in two of ancient China's three major religions.
Thematically, Sun Wukong is an allagory for the human mind; in that once you put your brain to it, anything is possible.
Anything is possible! I have that same mindset!
Not just shonen anime protagonists. You know the series RWBY? If you don't, there's a monkey Faunus in that series literally named Sun Wukong, which is a clear nod to the OG Monkey King.
@@zacharyfrierson6972 He does know the series RWBY. Made a career off of reacting to it and RVB.
@@gothmogonslaught6851 I wasn't talking to him specifically.
@@zacharyfrierson6972 oh ok. sorry.
This fight was both the first to feature people from mythology, and the first to have a narrator commentate over a fight. (Assuming you don’t count that tiny bit at the start of Deadpool vs The Mask)
3:40 "Boxing Existed"
You seem surprised that a 1 on 1 fight existed for... ever?
If you go find an uncontacted tribe in the middle of the Amazon and ask what they do for sport I guarantee the men will say they punch/kick eachother to see who is the best.
I’ve never heard of like boxing existing I thought it would be with weapons or be a duel with guns
@@theduckgoesmoo Well it was one of the Original Olympic Sports.
I was already on the side of Wukong. not only was he just 5 different ways immortal but he has way more tricks up he's sleeve. like even before he gained immortality he was shooting lasers from he's eyes. Herc is strong but the Rock Monkey was Equal to Heaven!
also~ i would recommend seeing Overly Sarcastic's videos on Journey to the West. it's really well made and goes over the bigger moments of the book.
Equal to Heaven? He almos single handedly overthrow The Heaven!
It's a bad thing that Duck dosent understand spanish do, if he did i would recomend the Destripando la Historia from Pascu y Rodri channel.
Five different ways of immortality. And one of them, the immortality pills, may have thousands of layers upon layers. Even the peaches of immortality are at least a few dozen layers.
Yes. That’s how they literally defined it in the myth. It’s so absurd it’s like Sun Wukong is the 80s Superhero that beats other 80s Superheroes.
Fun fact: Son Goku was actually based on Sun Wukong, even the original was more-or-less “Journey to the West.”
Pretty obvious too since Goku’s name is literally the Japanese way of saying Sun Wukong’s name.
i mean in Japanese Wukong's name is literally "Son Goku".
We know
That explains why he had a monkey tail, a flying cloud, and a magic bo staff that expands and contrasts. Goku was originally going to be more monkey-like but it didn't look good so they made him more human-like. Goku wasn't going to be an alien, he was just going to be a monkey boy.
So I only knew of the specifics of Journey to the West from watching OSP's animated coverage of the story and even I knew that unless Hercules had a weapon that totally negated immortality in every way, he just couldn't win against something who was like quadruple immortal. "Quadruple Immortal" sounds like a power a young kid gives his OC superhero when another kid says that another superhero could beat him.
It is that his narrative allows him to be the most powerful character in Deathabattle.
Zatanna and Wanda could lock him up until they get old or something similar, no matter how much the plot is, then Wukong could learn the powers and the gods that give them powers would give Wukong and he would kill them because he doesn't obey anyone.
the problem is for Wukong 100 years are nothing.
The whole character is based on him becoming more powerful by fighting other characters.
10:08 "Joke's on you, I'm getting double immortality"
Hellsing Ultimate Abridged reference…. Nice
Quality
The show you were asking about was called Young Hercules in 1998 with Ryan Gosling as Hercules. It was a prequel to Hercules the legendary journeys.
Yeah, I was pretty sure Sun Wukong was going to win based on the immortality alone. The thing is I had known about the multiple ways of immortality he had, but thought they were different interpretations/tellings of the story. I didn't know he had all of them at once.
I knew from the jump Heracles didn't stand a chance. Wukong can lift a 17,000 lb pillar like nothing, fought 36 thunder gods (in the same day) and jumped to the edge of the universe. Guy was so powerful, only the strongest deity could put him down. Heracles has some impressive feats, but I already knew what the outcome was going to be.
@@AwesomeNinjaXD I want to apologize in advance if this sounds/reads rude. I'm just trying to clarify my understanding of mythologies. My problem is/was that I'd heard about several different stories for both Herc and Sun, but wasn't sure how much of them are/were legit. Like with Hercules there's what he's done in Greek mythology, and there's Roman mythology. They have some similar legends for him, but they also have some very different 1s as well. Same thing with Sun about his Chinese legends, and Japan's versions/translations of them. I'd never heard/read any of the legends saying he had multiples forms on Immortality. The stories I knew about only mentioned 1, maybe 2 of them.
Also considering how stories/legends tend to have parts of them changed/exaggerated I'm never sure what to actually believe, or think that they're all connected.
@@some1killmeplease To be fair, Wukong isn't considered true mythology. It's basically a fictionalized version of an account from a monk with elements of Chinese mythology. So it's more like "fanfiction" or historical fiction if anything.
As for Wukong, the immortalities he gets are basically just from his training, some alcohol, some type of pellets or pills (iirc), and eating divine peaches.
As for Heracles, most of his feats can be found in the 12 labors. And while it's true there are several versions of many myths, depending on the area, the basic elements are usually the same. As far as I can tell, I don't think the Romans changes too much, but like I said, there's many versions of Greek myth.
@@some1killmeplease Also, Ice recommend checking out some videos from Overly Sarcastic Productions. They kinda simplify Heracles and Wukong but explain as best they can the typical version of the myths.
@@AwesomeNinjaXD Okay, I'll check that out when I can. Thank You very much.
It's good that Deathbattle is trying something different.
Shame, it didn't work with Deadliest Warrior when they did Zombie vs Vampire.
When it comes to Boba Fett, he's only a spoiler character if you go beyond the Nine main films.
Boba Fett is an odd case. He's not a big character in the films beyond being a child in the 2nd Prequel Attack of the Clones (2002), being the bounty hunter that transports Solo to Jabba in The Empire Strikes Back (1980 - original trilogy), and having an embarrassing defeat in Return of the Jedi (1983 - original trilogy).
He is part of a few episodes in the animated Clone Wars series and has his own live action series The Book of Boba Fett (2021). He's more badass in spin-offs than the films.
You should be fine to watching the next battle.
It's just about Boba Fett, he's not a super prevalent character in the movies. You shouldn't have any worry of notable spoilers, especially since Death Battle is mostly focused on combat abilities, and he doesn't fight much in the movies.
The comics are another story however
@@AfghanMonarchy Yes, but like fuck he'll be reading those.
This fight was basically Superman vs Goku: Ancestor Edition

3:30: That was a tv show on late-90s Fox Kids called, Young Hercules, a prequel to Hercules the Legendary Journeys that starred a young Ryan Gosling as Hercules.
I knew wukong was going to win this from the start but I still had a problem with them not properly explaining each characters capabilities during the first part.
this was another battle where you have a really, REALLY strong character in Hercules, but he simply just doesn't stand a chance against who he's up against
this one is probably even more one sided than homelander vs omniman
also: Absolutely Wukong could beat Superman. remember: Superman is weak to Magic and Kryptonite. Wukong is literally a mythical monkey fighting with magic. Superman wouldn't stand a chance. he even has laser beams too.
and really, what could goku or superman do to sun wukong? dude is immortal 1000+ times over.
@@maxacornand he can straight up transform into a version of himself that’s stronger than his opponent like how the heck can anyone who’s not omnipotent beat him?
@@lordaragon901 In a fair one on one fight, almost no one can beat WuKong. Unless they fight him at where he's the weakest: underwater. Despite his OPness, WuKong isn't an adept underwater fighter and has to rely on BaJie and Wujing to lure underwater enemies out to open ground so he can fight them.
Agreed, this is a brilliant idea for a battle. Herc had NO chance, but hell yeah it was sick. Also, like others are saying, you must- MUST- watch Legends Summarized: Journey to the West by Overly Sarcastic Productions. Absolutely STELLAR series that’ll tell you more about Journey to the West.
I learned about Sun through Overly Sarcastic Productions' videos on Journey to the West. Fucking hilarious they are.
If you'd like more myth stories, I recommend Overly Sarcastic Productions. Specifically Red's Miscellaneous Myths.
Every hair on sun wukongs body can turn into an entirely new sun wukong, and each of the hairs on those can turn into an entirely new one, forever, and each new one has the same strength as the original
one small thing death battle forgot to mention, that wine that sun wukong got drunk on when he ate the peaches, it was immortality wine that also gave him immortality.
A VS show you might be interested in is Smash Bracket. It’s like Death Battle, but they are focused on the Super Smash Bros roster. They use different research and calculation methods compared to DB, so it’s a breath of fresh air.
It’s definitely on the menu
Disturbing Fun Fact: Heracles has a very incestuous family. His mom Alcmene is the great granddaughter of his father Zeus, his name being changed from Alcaeus to Heracles just to appease Zeus’s sister/wife Hera. One of his boyfriends (Heracles was bisexual) also happened to be his nephew Iolaus, one of his most popular romances as well since he helped slay the Hydra, and his third wife (fourth female lover) which he married after his death Hebe is... surprise surprise... Zeus’s daughter. Hebe is also the daughter of Hera which means he married his archenemies daughter. Hera being the goddess of Marriage made it a double burn.
To be honest, they didn't even go into all that Sun Wukong could do. He is the progenitor of transformations (literally thousands).
This wasn't a close battle at all. Sun Wukong is a no brainer. They should've used more power Greek characters like Uranos, Tarturus, Gaia, Niks, Kronos, or Zeus.
I've heard other people say that Herc should have fought Gilgamesh instead. Also heard Beowulf but honestly that sounds like a stomp for Herc.
@@BJGvideos should have been Disney Hercules vs Heracles
I mean, we can all agree the theme for this Death Battle was along the lines of, Myths that inspired modern culture. As both are characters who are the basis for modern characters in their respective regions, in some form. With Wukong essentially being the “first” Shounen protagonist and Herc being one of the more notable western myths to be the basis for the likes of Superman and the such.
Throw a rock at a wall of anime and manga and odds are you will hit something inspired by something in Journey to the West.
That’s basically a quote from the Superman vs Goku episode.
Ah Monkey King is my old childhood live action show in Vietnam, but yeah it quite interesting there and known so much, I do know Monkey King also added in TABS game too as a unit
if you liked Sun Wukong, there's a cool looking lego show on amazon prime called Monkie Kid that might be cool to react to
Best part of this fight was heracles going "Huh... more heads, of course." He's disappointed in himself for not expecting it hahahaha. it
He probably got flashbacks to when he fought the hydra
This match was great. I hope they do more mythology battles in the future (Zeus VS Odin is a big contender).
The next episode is the mid-season finale & after that, DB will be on break for a bit.
Odin's pretty hardcore. He stabbed himself in the side with Gungnir, and hung himself by his own intestines from the branches of Yggdrasil for 9 days, all to learn the secrets of rune magic
If you want to learn more about Sun Wukong you should watch Overly Sarcastic Production's videos on it. It's a great summary and pretty entertaining
For this Death Battle I think UA-cam added to the charm here. Like their battle was so intense that it was destroying UA-cam!
Hercules in Greek myth was actually not involved in the invasion of troy, the heroes involved were the heroes Achilles and Odesseus, while Hercules was involved with Jason and the Argonauts
The de-immortalizing furnace was suppose to burn away his immorality. But sun wukong was so immoral that the furnace only burned away his "mortality" and being in there so long he actually absorbed the mystic fire and gain the ability to use fire magic.
Exactly he has hax anti hax.
Depends on your sources, but most depicts this is where he picked up his fiery eyes skill which lets him see through any disguises by transformation magic.
But this is also where he picked up a weakness to smoke. And apparently being a rock monkey, he can't fight well underwater.
From the moment I saw Heracles was fighting Sun Wukong I knew who the winner would be
I’d definitely recommend watching the next time
Boba Fett and Predator are really interesting characters from their respective franchises
Also both are owed by Disney
The universe is owned by Disney, at this point.

Funnily enough Sun Wukong *is not* the main character of the the story. Just around the first few chapters. He is the one that ends up saving the main character though.
Who is?
@@theduckgoesmoo The monk Tang Sanzang is the main character believe it or not. Honestly, this last year of Death Battles have been really good
This is one of my favorite death battles to date. By the way I think the movie you were talking about earlier with Hercules in it was Jason and the Argonauts.
The game is called SMITE, 7:30.
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS, but you play as Gods and Monsteres from all across the world and histories.
Concerning your question about the clones, Sun Wukong’s clones are all supposed to be as strong as himself, but for some reason DB loves treating pretty much every clone they put in their show as if they’re shadow clones. They did that with Alien X too
At least they had a bit more “involvement” this time around
@@cyberdragoon1432 True
The game at the very end of the Hercules analysis was Smite. Very fun game

I really don't like the playstyle of Wukong (or most Warriors for that matter) so I'm not familiar with the voice
Honestly they downplayed Sun Wukong a good amount but he still won so who cares
It didn’t matter in the end
Wukong is so op that in Journy to the West, most of the time its not how he would defeat the demon he encounter.
But to defeat the demon he encounter without harm the mortal in the area.
Hes Superman before Superman even a thing
7:31 it's a moba game called smite. It's like league of legends but with gods and mythology and in 3rd person
It's probably Achilles you're thinking of when it comes to "Troy", which is a terrible movie by the way, considering that someone decided to take the greek gods out of a telling of the Trojan War. You know, the war that ended up happening because of Eris.
Ah yes, forgot to invite one person to the party, ended up with a whole-ass war
Pretty sure the game at 7:30 is SMITE, a MOBA where all the playable characters are gods and mythical figures.
No, Sun Wukong didn't pull the staff out of his ear. When he's not using it, he keeps it shrunken to the size of a needle and held behind his ear.
Also, Wukong can use strands of his hair to not only create clones, bit also illusions. The "apple" he gave Heracles was a fake.
"They had boxing back then?" The Greeks invented boxing.
theduckgoesmoo I would just like to point out that wukong flipping to the edge of the universe would have been the solar system. That was the understanding of the universe at the time. Wukong would still win though.
I mean they did say that a mountain held up the infinite sky so Sun Wukong should have gone to the edge of infinity no?
Don't know if anyone posted it but the game for Hercules was called Smite I play the game a lot
The next one is going to be a hell of an argument

For the first time a Goku won a Death Battle
And for the first time, a Superman lost a Death Battle.
@@BBBHuey do the DBX sVegeta vs General Zod and Gohan vs Superboy count?
Journey to the West (the story Son Wukong is from) is probably where a lot of shounen manga tropes originate from I think.

This fight is MYTHICAL
I liked how wukong is portrayed in the saiyuki animes and saiyuki reload etc
I'm glad Predator is finally getting into a Death Battle.
Also that game you just saw was Smite the battle of gods, and you can play as Herc or Sun
Legends of Hercules was one of the greats from cable in the 90's. Maybe you've heard of a spin off from it: XENA - Warrior Princess!
The hilarious thing is that Wukong liked taking care of the celestial animals in the stable, if they had arbitrarily changed it so that it was a high position everything could be avoided.
the gods had anti immortality furnos which fire could kill immortals
sun found the one place where ther was less flames and hid their until the fire burned all mortallity off of him making him again even more immortal
Can the gods get money out of the warranty at least?
3:30 This was an old series called Young Hercules. Watched it a lot when I was a kid. And yup, that was Ryan Gosling.
They didn't even cover HALF of wukong's abilities. Wukong is one of the most powerful beings in existance, for achieving the taoist way of immortality wukong learnt the 72 earthly transformations but they weren't transformations as that was a mistranslation in nearly 90% of the translations of wukong's myth, IN reality he gained 72 different magical powers, Shapeshifting being ONE of them. Wukong can freeze any being may it be god, man or animal completely solid, Stop time over an entire city, Leave his physical body in a form of a spirit, Force other people's spirits out of their body, Resurect the dead in more then one way, Command the dragon kings to change the weather for him, See through any and all illusions, Have his clones transform into weaponry he can weild so long as he can imagine any weapon, He can have his clones transform into them and survive complete disembowlment. In a story to prove his durability, wukong even took out all of his internal organs and then put them back in later jokingly going "I hope I put them in the right place" meaning only complete ahnilation would be capable of stopping him and even that's a big maybe.
The infinite mountain he was carrying? There were 2 of those on his shoulders and he didn't just pick it up, A demon summoned it ontop of his head and DROPPED them on him, meaning he could survive being crushed under infinite weight. There are a VERY few things wukong cannot do, This matchup was extremely one sided and by the end of his journey when Wukong becomes enlightened and gains buddhahood he also gains Omniprescenece.
Oh, and just to note, that staff Sun Wukong so casually flings around was not made as a weapon. It was made for a DRAGON to MEASURE THE DEPTHS OF THE OCEAN, and it's 17,880 GODDAMN POUNDS.
That he twirls and spins like it's nothing.
Yeah boxing is one if the most ancient martial arts
Yeah... they put Sun Wukong in a brazier made specifically to extract immortality and make him mortal burning him alive in the process. Just made him angry and have red eyes.
Also herculeas is his roman name
This will show a ton of similarities with Goku... :P
You got surprised when they mentioned the laser eyes but you were talking over the part he hatched from a rock.
That would make him Wonder Woman's brother. Or half-brother. Or something.
Mythological backstories are *_weird._*
@@Lycanthromancer1 Or completely unrelated. Wonder Woman had her backstory rebooted a couple times. Not to mention the alternate universes.
@@calebgoodman3028 Both were children of Earth itself -- in Greek terms, children of Gaia, and thus, siblings.
@@Lycanthromancer1 Except the stone is described in the text to be equal parts heaven and earth. Though that would imply he’s a child of Uranus. However Sun Wukong is inspired by the Hindu god Hanuman whom’s parents are unconnected to those powers which raises some questions. Though Hanuman’s spiritual father is Vayu the god of wind. I am thinking too hard about this but it’s fun.
Do you avoid the Star Wars battles because you're planning on watching Star Wars movies and shows and don't want spoilers?
The devine breast milk making the milky way is actual greek lore and the actual reason we name it that way
Sun Wukong is literally Plot Armor incarnate, this result wasn't suprising.
Sun Wukong is Sun Gokku in Japan, which was slightly modified to Son Goku for Dragonball.
The game at the end of Heracles' rundown is Smite
It's a MOBA where the characters are all gods and heroes from various mythologies etc
You got Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Norse, Chinese, Hindu, Japanese, Mayan, Celtic, Slavic, Polynesian, Yoruba, even more unexpected stuff like Lovecraft, Arthurian legend, and Haitian Voodoo
Sun Wukong is also in that game btw
I used to really enjoy it but it kinda fizzled out for me for some reason
Is it possible to increase the volume on the videos and slightly decrease the microphone volume?
At this point you should react to Overly Sarcastic Productions, you and Kirby might love that series
And now you need to check out Overly Sarcastic Productions' videos on Hercules and the multi-video Journey to the West.
I actually thought it would go to Heracles because of the poison arrows and the mention that Wukong had some vulnerability to strong poisons.
Lol, wasn't paying attention to what Wiz was saying, i didn't notice he missed the "thousand" part on the staff weighing almost 8 thousand tons
No sun wukong has 7 lase of immorality
Probably best episode of the season, and also yes he can beat goku
3:30 1990's It's the young Hercules show starring Ryan Gosling.
Future Trunks: (To Goku) So, your name is Son Wukong, right? (In his head) DAMNIT!
Goku: I'm Son Goku, yes.
Future Trunks: (In his head) Role with it.
🤣👍
Next time for Myths could be Achilles vs Siegfried. Two legendary heroes in there own myths who share the commonality of being brought down by one little weak spot to there supposed invulnerability.
