It turns out that first part can (actually) be heard in the film. It plays as background music under the terrible 2.20am flirtation Lee Marvin has with the woman behind the bar. Alan Silvestri’s talent is unquestionable, but such a selection for said scene is bizarre.

Love the synth, certainly makes and this Flight of The Navigator sound among the more unique of Silvestri's score.
