Morning Z, such a gorgeous transformation! Love these pieces they always look so dramatic. You toned it down lovely with the soft rose petal effect. It is a bit of extra work with the paint layering, to get that desired effect that is the way to go. Glad to see you covered the top inside ring, it makes all the difference. The waxing finished the vase off beautifully. It was a lot of work but so rewarding. Do not forget to share how you are going to renovate the other pieces. I find it so interesting to see the magic that can be achieved. You found good pieces to incorporate into your home, for pleasure and class. So seeing the white vase with the beautiful flowers and the green hydrangeas just remind me Spring is just around the corner. I loved Thrifting with you. I think it is a great idea to keep an inventory of looks and then see how you can recover pieces. Your tutorial was wonderful. I love that wax paint that added Sheen and enamel finish, makes cleaning much easier. But I love that look. I love that look on walls. You can wipe down walls much easier. Thank you🌺 Oh yes, most people actually use chalk paint and the wax on furniture! It's really great because it is supposed to be able to paint on any surface without stripping the old surface. I have found chalk paint to work very well in most circumstances. You have to clean your surface very well before starting and a very light sanding would be even better. You may have trouble with furniture that has water stains or high tannin content wood or wood knots. These can bleed through unless you first add a couple of layers of shellac over your piece. Then you can paint your piece with chalk paint and use the wax as your finish coat. Hope this helps! Angelic Interior Designs by Shenell has good videos showing how she paints furniture with chalk paint if you want to check those out!
Ask the manager if the thrift store if they can do a better price. Everytime I’ve asked they have come down by a lot. You can barter. They want to get the stuff out the door quickly.
