Im sorry if this is long for a YT comment, but to anyone suffering with negative body image... youre not alone... even some of the stars who are considered the most beautiful in Hollywood can suffer from that. Personally, Ive been gaining/losing weight my whole life due to hormonal/&mental health issues. Im not the kind of person who cares what peoples opinions are of me in general, but I guess the reason why this particularly bothers me is the way my parents body shame me(especially my mom).. I love them, Im grateful for them, theyre great.. but they can be hurtful in the way they express their concern (for the record i was never obese). for some people im just overly sensitive.. but words like "cow" "guys like slim girls" "youre 13 and look like you just gave birth" and "your thighs make you look like you have chicken legs" can really get to a kid... I wouldnt wish that feeling on my worst enemy.. even though they say they only want my best interest so they want me to lose weight, and when I do, and I actually look slim, they become more accepting overall. but to whoever thinks simply losing weight and mainting it with hormonal/mental health problems, & justifies fat shaming because of that, is just plain mean. but Hope Turner, I know what you mean about self love, and because I do value myself more than words, ive found immense support from friends and extended family members and people I dated. and that positive support is what helps me lose weight to stay healthy, altho its an ongoing struggle that im currently pulling thru. Similar things were said to me as a kid. Middle school especially. I was never particularly overweight, but the power that mean girls at school have is... well... astronomical. The first time I was called chubby was actually when I was 7 by my babysitter. I remember it like it was yesterday. She was an older lady and she was getting all the kids sun-blocked for the pool and when it was my turn she said "You have really fat thighs." I think that's where my insecurities started. I was never teased again until middle school, which is where it got pretty bad. Two girls that I considered really good friends called me fat in the same day, a day where I dressed up and felt really pretty. This was in 7th grade, and I remember exactly what I was wearing. I cried when I got home. I told them that I couldn't be friends with people that make me feel like that. Then there was 8th grade. There was this new girl who was very quiet, so I decided to befriend her. We became quick best friends, but as she got used to school and the people here, the meaner she got. One day she looked at me and said "You know, your thighs aren't supposed to touch when you walk." And I was taken back to that moment with my babysitter. From then on it's just been me bullying myself I guess.

We have this impression that you have to be tall, thin, and have a perfect face to be accepted by society. I hope the world looks past how judging you are and is still attracted to your shallow personalities. She IS beautiful. Not because she does or does not have the perfect makeup skills, not because her face is or is not perfectly proportionate, but because she's brave. She's strong. She has a genuine heart, and conquers the world with what we should perceive to be "beautiful" or "pretty". She's beautiful because of her story. She pushes past the emotional detriment caused by people like you to send a message to the people who have insecurities, weight problems, or health deformities: you ARE beautiful. She's trying to send a message that you don't NEED to be physically beautiful to be attractive. I quite liked Halloween as its the only time of the year kids weren't so judgmental of me as we're all dressed up and its the only year looking different was cool ( as I suffer from a condition myself where I look different ) Being older now, I love the spooky part of it, watching horrors, playing around with makeup looks.. The only thing I don't like now, is answering the door to kids as I suffer from anxiety and I freak out.. ( it also doesn't help i'm afraid of the dark orz).. I hear you though.. I've experienced people staring at me a lot too.. I never really remembered anyone staring at me on Halloween, but I most likely did and being an native child I was I probably thought they where staring at my cool costume lol.. The only bad experience I've had with Halloween was, we all decided to do first Halloween without our parents and just stay close with one another.. I love Halloween. My church kind of did a Haunted House theme just out side. It's a natural thing to be scared, frightened. In a lot of ways, it's healthy. I actually love Halloween. Even as an adult I'll go to parties and such. I dress up when I hand out candy to the kids. They seem to love that. Halloween doesn't seem to be as big as it was when I was a kid. Last year I only had 12 kids visit my place. Yet, I still love it. It's one day out of a year where people are comfortable being someone else. This year, with the clown sightings, I think parents are going to be even more careful. I've heard people say they aren't taking their kids out this year or answering the door to pass out candy. That's so sad

My mom is half blind as well. She'll be the first one to tell you her spacial reasoning sucks. She hates driving at night. My aunt throws a Halloween party for her family. Lots of safe candy and good company. I love Halloween, because it gives me the perfect reason to go out in my PJs!

I like Halloween more as an adult because I can watch horror movies and eat all the candy without getting judged
I actually love Halloween. Even as an adult I'll go to parties and such. I dress up when I hand out candy to the kids. They seem to love that. Halloween doesn't seem to be as big as it was when I was a kid. Last year I only had 12 kids visit my place. Yet, I still love it. It's one day out of a year where people are comfortable being someone else. This year, with the clown sightings, I think parents are going to be even more careful. I've heard people say they aren't taking their kids out this year or answering the door to pass out candy. That's so sad

I hated trick or treating also, it made me feel insecure as well. But I absolutely love handing out candy. After I got too old and watched the house while my family were out, Halloween has became my favorite. And I've always loved ghost stories and other spooky things

i dont like halloween anymore like i used to but my best friend always wants to dress up and go out downtown and thats not an issue for me. violence and blood and all that scary stuff i dont care for and i dont think people realize you bring evil into your home and life when you're around all that. like watching horror movies or going to haunted houses are a huge nope for me lol
