Halloween is my holiday. I love the fear factor of it. It's also the time of year when bonfires and cuddling up getting ready for the cold weather.

I enjoyed Halloween quite a bit as a kid, at least when I was young enough to really believe that there was something literal about it - looking up at the sky as I walked around my very familiar block, half expecting to see a witch flying overhead. Also as it was after dark, I had the impression of being up very late, though it was probably never later than 8 pm. Now that I'm so much older and have to answer the door every few minutes, it's not nearly so much fun. Oh, to be young again! Best wishes from South Dakota.

Im sorry if this is long for a YT comment, but to anyone suffering with negative body image... youre not alone... even some of the stars who are considered the most beautiful in Hollywood can suffer from that. Personally, Ive been gaining/losing weight my whole life due to hormonal/&mental health issues. Im not the kind of person who cares what peoples opinions are of me in general, but I guess the reason why this particularly bothers me is the way my parents body shame me(especially my mom).. I love them, Im grateful for them, theyre great.. but they can be hurtful in the way they express their concern (for the record i was never obese). for some people im just overly sensitive.. but words like "cow" "guys like slim girls" "youre 13 and look like you just gave birth" and "your thighs make you look like you have chicken legs" can really get to a kid... I wouldnt wish that feeling on my worst enemy.. even though they say they only want my best interest so they want me to lose weight, and when I do, and I actually look slim, they become more accepting overall. but to whoever thinks simply losing weight and mainting it with hormonal/mental health problems, & justifies fat shaming because of that, is just plain mean. but Hope Turner, I know what you mean about self love, and because I do value myself more than words, ive found immense support from friends and extended family members and people I dated. and that positive support is what helps me lose weight to stay healthy, altho its an ongoing struggle that im currently pulling thru.

Similar things were said to me as a kid. Middle school especially. I was never particularly overweight, but the power that mean girls at school have is... well... astronomical. The first time I was called chubby was actually when I was 7 by my babysitter. I remember it like it was yesterday. She was an older lady and she was getting all the kids sun-blocked for the pool and when it was my turn she said "You have really fat thighs." I think that's where my insecurities started. I was never teased again until middle school, which is where it got pretty bad. Two girls that I considered really good friends called me fat in the same day, a day where I dressed up and felt really pretty. This was in 7th grade, and I remember exactly what I was wearing. I cried when I got home. I told them that I couldn't be friends with people that make me feel like that. Then there was 8th grade. There was this new girl who was very quiet, so I decided to befriend her. We became quick best friends, but as she got used to school and the people here, the meaner she got. One day she looked at me and said "You know, your thighs aren't supposed to touch when you walk." And I was taken back to that moment with my babysitter. From then on it's just been me bullying myself I guess.
Only thing I like about Halloween anymore is half priced candy the day after!

Ugh these people annoy me so much. Just because lizzy is different doesn't mean you have to treat her different even if it's "nice". It's like talking in a baby voice to a teen that looks younger (like me) or to someone with a disability that can still fully comprehend what you're saying, yet you keep speaking in that same baby voice. I don't know if you'll read this, I imagine you have so many messages to read, so probably not but it needs to come out. I just watched "a brave heart" with tears running down my cheeks the majority of the time. The "ugliest woman in the world" portion was simply unbearable to see. Cruelty and thoughtlessness knows no boundaries, yet you've managed to transcend above it. It is awe inspiring.

We have this impression that you have to be tall, thin, and have a perfect face to be accepted by society. I hope the world looks past how judging you are and is still attracted to your shallow personalities. She IS beautiful. I love Halloween. My church kind of did a Haunted House theme just out side. It's a natural thing to be scared, frightened. In a lot of ways, it's healthy. Of course if I ever have kids it'll start out slow and not scarey. Of course the scary do not apply to you Miss Lizzie. Your beautiful. Just the way God made you... I love the costume. My birthday is November 2nd. Which is the day of the Living in Mexico. I love Day of the Dead which is the 31st. It's a day to think of people who has Died even though I am Baptist, I love it.

I actually love Halloween. Even as an adult I'll go to parties and such. I dress up when I hand out candy to the kids. They seem to love that. Halloween doesn't seem to be as big as it was when I was a kid. Last year I only had 12 kids visit my place. Yet, I still love it. It's one day out of a year where people are comfortable being someone else. This year, with the clown sightings, I think parents are going to be even more careful. I've heard people say they aren't taking their kids out this year or answering the door to pass out candy. That's so sad

I use to like it, But i gotten older (not that much older i was 11) and would want to just go home after a few hours plus i've grown to dislike chocolate. i eat it sometimes. rarely. but now i'm 19 and like it again. but not to go trick or treating. but to hand out candy and seeing little kids costumes. plus i will have candy left over anyways. which will take forever for me to finish xD

Hi never liked Halloween either from the begining. Because it simply involved so much of horrific acts. You have to put on some scary costume to suit the even and some people enjoy dressing up like other celebs those who died and who are still here it's an offence. Sometimes you'll get frightened for nothing. Whether you enter a Horror House or Watch a movie somehow the horrific images play on your mind. Also trigger you to be vicious and violent. It's alright Lizzie you don't have to be part of the major crowd just enjoy the way you want to.
my daughter is very creative and decorated are front porch with lights and cob webs with spiders hanging it looks great cant wait to see some of the trick or treaters faces lol I'm more of a Christmas guy tho
