I like macro It took a while but ended up with a Tamron 90mm F2.8 1:1 and wow.. you indeed see the world in a different way. Surely it is a whole different type of photography you have to learn but. Well the details..so nice. And at limited focus range it also makes a great lens to walk outside with.
If you feel like you're stagnating - not progressing - as a photographer, getting into macro images is a great way to re-light your creative fire. A good quality macro lens can also be used used for beautiful head-shots.
Allen, that went a bit way too fast for me, perhaps actual shooting of more subjects can help. These are expensive & I want to get the right one. Thankyou.
A reasonably priced macro lens would be within the manual focus options such as the 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for FUJIFILM X , BH #7A112X bhpho.to/3iTLx8j
2:14 “macro lenses are manufactured in a choice of focal lengths ranging from normal to telephoto”. Actually wide angle macro lenses also exist. I own a Venus Laowa 15mm f/4 1:1 macro lens for full frame and aps-c cameras. In all fairness it wasn't on the market yet when this video was made.
Please help me!!! I bought a Sony Alpha 6400, and now I need lenses!! My budget is not big, but I need 1 lens to start. I was thinking getting 35mm 1.8 and then I come across macro lens!! I need a lens that will be good for my cat videos and pictures, but most important to take pictures of my husband artwork, both to add pictures to his website but also to make prints! So should I go for the macro lenses here? Thank you ☺️
We would only advise using a macro lens if you have a need to shoot detailed portions of your subjects. Otherwise, a Sony 35mm f/1.8 lens can certainly work for your many applications since it will give you a normal angle of view and a very shallow depth of field.
My camcorder gives me a field of view down to about a centimeter or less. Does that mean that I'm magnifying the image about 35 times the actual size? It depends on the size of the viewing-screen, right haha? Soon, I will need to get a macro lens and I like your introduction video. Thanks
A field of view indicates how wide the angle of view the focal of a lens is. In the instance of your particular camcorder from what you've indicated, it has a minimum focusing distance of 1cm. In order to comment further about your camera and its performance, we would need to know the specific make and model number of it. - Yossi
Field of view and magnification are two different things. If your sensor is full frame (which few camcorders have) you would have to be able to make a pin head fill just about the entire image, and be in focus, to produce 35 times magnification. If your sensor is smaller than full frame, an equally smaller object than a pin head must fill the frame to be magnified 35 times. So no, your camcorder can probably not magnify 35 times.

Cool, didn't know about the 1:1, 1:2, etc ratio stuff.
I thought you knew everything. But maybe only about computers?
Informative, helpful, concise and told using simple language. Thanks!
I learned a ton in 4 minutes!

Thanks, BH. I am so freaking confused with the macro thingy. Not no more.
Great, "Information-Plus" and no wasted time :) Thanks for posting :)

Why there are not so many 200 mm macro lenses on the market? Even 200 nikon is not available anymore. Am I missing something?
