I saw this Last night absolutely awesome didn't have to pay nothing to go as my sister was in the orchestra But would happily pay Absolutely awesome performance by everybody
There is a dvd..has Liam Neeson etc too..tho I think is different in some ways eg Marty from wet wet wet as lead singer..and j.donovan as preacher.. is defo worth seeing.. music magpie probly stock it if UK!?
Robert M. It was a great show & tickets are on sale for 2021. I managed to get front row again, but this time on the other side near where Herbie Flowers will be performing. Hopefully this global situation will be over by that point.
@@themysteriousoa4466 they did indeed. Usually the tour is late Nov into December, but I think they chose Mar/Apr 2021 in the hope we’d be back to normal. When it became apparent it wasn’t they rescheduled the shows for 2022 & thankfully tickets remain valid so I still have my original seat.
Basically, Martian war machines are blocking a transport steamer full of civilians from escaping, so a British navy battleship, HMS Thunderchild charges in to engage the martians, buying time for the civilians to escape and going down fighting in the process
Victor The Artyedynerd it was slightly off from the start & most noticeable when the journalist dives under the water. The water sound effect came after he dived under & the didn’t go off until after the Journalist had been stood up for a while. One of the hazards of being one of the first shows I guess. Also they couldn’t do the Beth death illusion until the next show & the stage hologram projector didn’t seem very bright at times. It also didn’t come on at all for the introduction & Jeff’s stand camera didn’t work when they did the cast during Eve of the War. Some of the heat ray blasts were slightly out of sync too. Again likely issues due to being an early show. I’m also wondering if the timing cues the vocalists get was slightly off to as Adam Garcia missed the point where he was supposed to get the glass of whiskey of the journalist reaching for it when Liam’s hand was down by his side with no glass in. None of which detracted from the show though.

I will have to watch my footage again to see if they got the sync issue fixed for the second part, I think they might have as I recall the “life begins again” segment during Brave New World being in sync. I just wish I’d recorded it mostly on 1x zoom rather than 2x zoom. The sections I filmed on 1x look so much better. I should have only used zoom for closeups.

The camera was mostly pointed at the fighting machine bar when I was taking photos. Filming proper started just as Horsell Common and the Heat Ray started, but was more focused on watching than videoing. Best footage tends to be when I'm also taking photos. Seat was Block A Row A seat 18. In hindsight I wish I'd filmed it at no more than 1.5x zoom bar closeups so more of the musicians & screen was visible. Portions of other tracks are filmed like that & it looked far better. Maybe next time I will get it right, if there is a next time & I get front row seats. Kind of wish I'd got block b to get better shots of Herbie Flowers. I swear Nathan looks right at me before the big "farewell thunder chiiiiild". I had said in a tweet I'd be front row with a rock based t-shirt on so who knows. He certainly didn't glace to the left at any other show judging from the footage.

I may even just join all the footage into one file & upload it as a 99% complete show, that way people can view it in order. At the moment I only have the cast being introduced/taking bows at the end & this video.
Im sorry to say now ive seen the wotw, live at the nec in Birmingham, the cast what you see now it nowhere like i seen it, the guy walking up and down like a mad thing possesed, looks like roy wood,.... Jeff ought of stuck with Russell watson... As the vicar Liam neeson, will never replace Richard burton, not by a long shot, he doesn't have inspiring voice as Richard burton did,.. Im glad i wenr and saw this in 2004,... I admire Jeff. And his band working entirely hard, to inject new ideas on how to promote the album, To those who haven't seen it yet YOU HAVEN'T SEEN NOTHING LIKE IT
Saw it in Manchester a few years ago. Left at the interval, as did many others. An occasional appearance by a cast member, the rest watch on a video screen. Could have done that at home
