    This channel is definitely a contender with OpenStudio for the best jazz instruction-I really appreciate the advice given for actually integrating the concepts into one's own playing. I've gotten a lot out of these videos. Awesome instruction.

      Bro this FAR surpasses OpenStudio. OpenStudio is mostly people demonstrating jazz and talking about it in complex terms, lacking thorough explanation or application in a practical sense.

    This is a great instructional video. It allows us to take one step at a time, which I'm sure we all appreciate. Your keyboard is similar to mine. I was wondering what sound you're using. It sounds great!

    Who else plays like this? I recently discovered "Black Radio" by Glasper and have been DYING to find other Dark-Sounding Neo-Soul Jazz, especially with lots of rhodes keyboard sounds but I'm struggling. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

    Great tutorial... I wouldn’t call it hip-hop inflections w/out explaining the origin of those inflections... which would be soul, funk and more or less hard bop! Nevertheless I have learned some cool stuff from this tutorial ✊🏾🎹😷

    Was that piano really from the Juno Di?

    • @NoahKellman
      @NoahKellman  6 років тому

      No, it's actually a MIDI patch. Although, I do think the DI has a pretty great piano sound. I tend to love Roland's acoustic piano sounds.

      Jazz is learned predominantly thru transcribing, which starts by emulating how a person sounds.
