This channel is definitely a contender with OpenStudio for the best jazz instruction-I really appreciate the advice given for actually integrating the concepts into one's own playing. I've gotten a lot out of these videos. Awesome instruction.
Bro this FAR surpasses OpenStudio. OpenStudio is mostly people demonstrating jazz and talking about it in complex terms, lacking thorough explanation or application in a practical sense.
This is a great instructional video. It allows us to take one step at a time, which I'm sure we all appreciate. Your keyboard is similar to mine. I was wondering what sound you're using. It sounds great!
Who else plays like this? I recently discovered "Black Radio" by Glasper and have been DYING to find other Dark-Sounding Neo-Soul Jazz, especially with lots of rhodes keyboard sounds but I'm struggling. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
Great tutorial... I wouldn’t call it hip-hop inflections w/out explaining the origin of those inflections... which would be soul, funk and more or less hard bop! Nevertheless I have learned some cool stuff from this tutorial ✊🏾🎹😷
Came here from Glasper instagram video, and cmooon this video is actually really good, its exactly what Glasper does, but I get it, you are probably too white for their egos....

Thanks, Ksan! Appreciate that!

Are there any videos of the exercise?
There are now-- ua-cam.com/video/SoKcRS_tCbE/v-deo.html

For sure, completely understand and agree. I oversimplified and should have gone deeper. Lesson learned!
you are ridiculous... this is amazing 🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just saw your comment. Thanks so much!!
Noah Kellman yes!!! definitely helps with my playing 🙏🏾
Are there audio examples of the exercises?
I'm actually working on them and I think they'll be ready by the end of the weekend!
Here they are: ua-cam.com/video/SoKcRS_tCbE/v-deo.html

what's the theme song name??
I like to call it Ode to Glasper, a little tune I wrote!
This is only a pdf and not a video?
Yeah, the PDF comes with exercises that blend improv and harmony techniques.
Working on video examples that will come with the PDF. Should be ready by the end of the weekend!
Let us know when video examples are ready pleass
@@lorenaway I will! They're close.
Great I purchased already loving what I’m seeing. Now if I could only get time to be at the keys....
Was that piano really from the Juno Di?
No, it's actually a MIDI patch. Although, I do think the DI has a pretty great piano sound. I tend to love Roland's acoustic piano sounds.
@@NoahKellman midi patch from what vst.
Does Glasper's style has influence on Oscar Peterson's?
🙏🙏🙏
Great lesson
But you go to fast for intermediate players like me
Came here from Glasper instagram video, and cmooon this video is actually really good, its exactly what Glasper does, but I get it, you are probably too white for their egos....
Man you are the white side of RobG, trust me you fit perfectly in his shoes...
Curtis Davies 🙏🙏thanks man
I'm not going to clown you because you can obviously play very well but c'mon dude. Its all about getting your own style
Jazz is learned predominantly thru transcribing, which starts by emulating how a person sounds.
He’s teaching. He’s not trying to imitate Glasper through his own music.
@@ermharriable lol you don't get it
