I looked at both in a store and tested with my laptop, the Velocity offers more drop protection for the laptop - keeping it off the floor when you place the bag on the ground. The commuter didn't offer any at all, the pouch in the commuter would touch the bottom of the bag. The metal feet attached the insert in the velocity make sure that there is an actual suspended bottom.
I've run a hi vis Commuter for over 2 years. It's almost perfect: if only it were 25L. I love it nonetheless. Tough, comfortable (take off the waist belt), incredible illumination from the fabric when hit directly by a headlight. Quality.
Can you please fix the "moire" that every exceptional video of yours have? That will definitely make your reviews almost perfect and also if you could weigh the backpacks [and compare the oem ratings if available] that would be make your reviews 100% perfect imo.
@@CrispyDsmooth I did get black . It does reflect at night when shinned with car light . I still wear a flashing red bike light attached for extra visual attention
Both look good, the commuter daypack comes up as heavier on ortliebs site, 860g for the 21 litres vs 790g for the 23l Velocity PS, which I cannot work out. The reflective fabric is a huge plus
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it. Yeah, you're right about rolling the top backward on the PS model. It's a neat little feature that adds some extra style points. Enjoy your new gear when you get it:)
Just picked up a daypack myself. Loving it so far and yes the shoulder straps are noticeably thinner than velocity. Do you feel much difference while riding ?
Hey there! The Velocity PS can only hold 15.4” laptops. The COMMUTER-DAYPACK URBAN's notebook compartment can accommodate a 16" laptops. Hope that helps!
Good to see Ed back on the channel
