6:08 ... Public service announcement: DO NOT DISCONNECT THAT WHITE PLUG(steering sensor)!!! That's why Aaron had to go to the dealer to clear that airbag code. Also, sometimes it also shows VDC OFF, Slip and SRS light if you disconnect the white plug (steering sensor) because it thinks you are doing circles instead of going straight. Just remember to make sure that the steering wheel is as straight as it can be before starting the job. After the steering disassembly, when removing the old clockspring, ONLY disconnect the YELLOW and the GREY plug and leave the other part attached to the white plug(steering sensor) and install the new clockspring. Trust me guys, I've done several clocksprings replacement on 2 G's I've had and leaving the white plug(steering sensor) is the right way to go if you want everything to go smooth as silk.
You think this is why everyone gets the VDC/Slip lights that wont turn off on Nissan Xterra? I've noticed that everybody in videos unplug the white. Also is OEM part actually important?
Coyle Parker Hi Coyle! Yes, if you park the car slightly offside, when you disconnect the sensor(white plug), it thinks that the car is doing circles. As you stated, that’s why most people get the VDC off/Slip warning after the replacement. As for your other question, just get the cheapest non OEM Clockspring! This part is known to be an issue that nissan never fixed. As of today, I’ve had mine installed for over 2 years now without any issue, and mine is a non OEM part. Hope this info serves you well! :-)
@@NineOneOneFx Thanks for this tip man!! all the lights went off after driving for a minute or so. kept the Steering censor plugged in (the white plug). Hopefully stays that way.
@@southerndig AWESOME! Good to know that everything went smooth(so far). In any case, if the lights comes up, I can hook you up with the Nissan DataScan 2 tool (FREE) which is similar to the one the dealer uses(Nissan Consult) to reset the Angle Sensor and other AWESOME goodies. You only need to invest like $10-20 dollars in the KKL 409.1 VAG-COM OBD2 USB Cable which can be bought on eBay. Here some more info about the software and cable: www.my4dsc.com/nissan-datascan-ii-aka-the-affordable-nissan-consult/
love the music!!!! get'n ready to put my clock spring in cause so many people out there sit'n at the light on their cellphones not moving and my horn don't work!!!
Thanks for the video. Replaced a bad clockspring on my FX35. There is also a sequence of steps to clear the airbag light after as well without need a DTC scanner.
Thank you for the video. I unboxed it and said nope. But then I saw how easy it was and mission accomplished. I liked how you went through it step by step.
Appreciated. :D I've done them on other vehicles, but it is so infrequent that you always have to relearn. This will help. Only have airbag light flashing, but I had forgotten clock spring could have anything to do with it. Thanks again. :D
Great content bro. I know when my clock spring my controls on my streering wheel didn't work. Plus when replacing it I felt like I worked for the bomb squad.
I swear my g35 has the same light too but I’ve bought my clock spring and I’ve honestly been waiting for you to drop this video so I can put it on so imma go do that now 😂😂
hey can someone help me... i ended up taking out the clockspring but the position of it that i was suppose to mimic on the other one got messed up nd spun a couple times and i don't know what position it was on and i tried different ones and nothing same issue. is there any way i can reposition it to the same position i had before so everything can start to work again? HELP ASAP
I have a 2008 Maxima. Changed my clock spring. Got my Engine light go away and got all my buttons working on my steering wheel. But my horn is not working. Any suggestions?
i'm pretty sure my clockspring in my 350z nees to be replaced but does the clockspring mess with the radio? Because ever since it fucked up everytime I turn my steering wheel to either left or right the radio changes stations by itself and increases the volume sometimes I just want to know.
So I just replaced my clock spring and everything seemed to work my horn and buttons. Once I started driving my car started braking on its own and the vdc and slip lights are now on?! Any advice would be appreciated!
@melmer238_yt3 Still dealing with the same issue. Even brought the car to a mechanic and had the steering angle sensor recalibrated. Still no use. For now I just pulled the abs fuse located on the IPDM fuse box on the firewall. You won't have abs, traction control, or a speedometer... but you'll at least be able to drive it until the problem gets solved. Where did you get your clockspring from just out of curiosity?
There a ton of cars for the G37 that you can use. Nisan cube, juke, murano, quest, Versa etc and Infiniti SUV’s as well. So I’d go with a nissan clock spring save some money lol same exact part.
It’s probably your horn or the wiring to it. Take the front bumper off and look at the horn or try to get to it through the hood area with the grill off
Caest998 I replaced my own clock spring and then my vdc off and slip lights came on? My car also brakes on its own when driving if you have any idea how to fix it lmk thanks

Where did you get your clockspring replacement part ?
Beautiful detail video! Thank you. What about the horn?
Good video and I needed to know this
Whaaa two videos back to back, me like me like
Does that also have something to do with the button that adjusts the steering depth on the left side of the steering wheel?
Great video...one question I have before I do mine is how many lb ft of torque did you use when reinstalling the wheel? Thanks

did the clock spring but i just cant switch maps, everything else works and cruise control comes on i just cant use the set switch to change maps
can i get a link from where you bought it

Great Video Brodie 💪🏾👍🏾, did the horn start back work after you replaced the clock spring????
Thanks for the video worked flawlessly on my fx35 today it was the same…👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Was your steering wheel making a click noise by chance? Having similar issue on my fx 35
Damm I think the same thing is wrong on my car I have an airbag light and I cant seem to get the cruise control light
How many revolution from left to right to center it on both sides
Hey man like the video!!!!! You help me alot thanks!!!!
that maxima is nice
Another symptom is that your audio and cruise control won’t work if it’s failed
You gotta do a air bag reset with the ignition on and wait for airbag symbol to turn off and then switch ignition off 4 x

Did you ever find a solution for the problem? Please, feel free to let me know. Thanks

Cesar Perez got it from the Nissan dealer

What actual part number did you install???
Yuhhhh let’s go Aaron
Does this effect your tail lights or???
What did you do about the air bag light ?
Great video...only thing is you didn't test the horn after you replaced the spring...that's the issue I'm having.
Sheila Bell I had to install new horns cause I didn’t have any at this time 👀 lol
Love all the rebuild videos keep up the good work
Hey bro Howmuch did u paid for the oem clock spring ? Good vids bro 👍🏽💪🏽
Hey bro thanks! They ran $257 at Infiniti and about $190 at Nissan.
Aaron Newman thanks a lot bro ,, ur killing it 💪🏽

yes I have the same problem thank you
Were you order yours from
Where did you buy the part?
Good job!!!
Would an 04 350z one work on an 04 g35 coupe
What is the part number for it?
What if you've done all of that and the horn still doesn't work?
It’s probably your horn or the wiring to it. Take the front bumper off and look at the horn or try to get to it through the hood area with the grill off
My VDC light And Slip Light Is Still On and Mechanic Reset. It Again
He Said I Need A Wheel Alignment...Is That What It Is?
Elena Scotto hey did you ever fix the problem?! I also got the slip and vdc light, got it reset from mechanic and came back
@@franciscoreyes771 Yes...Problem Resolved
Got The Wheel Alignment Done And Lights Went Off
Same to me idk what it is when I turn and go like my car wants to stop it makes my break pad like shake a bit and then slip and VDC light turn on
Hi can you place a link on where to get these?
I got mine from a Nissan dealer
Doesn’t the clock spring cause VDC and SLIP light to come on sometimes too? Or is the false from the forums
RIP I got it haha
Alan Serrano Hey did yo I ever fix it? Please help me
what racing gloves???.....lmao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 .... life!!!!
Your friend with the maxima need less thug life wheels. A set of 350z anniversary or z33 nismo wheels would look nice.
debating if I should do this labor on my own or get it done for a good price
do it yourself
@@thestonedhippo I did end up doing it on my own! wasn't to bad and I surprised myself lol saved myself a lot of $$
Caest998 I got vdc and slip can you help me?

I was trying this on my g today with full confidence after buying everything, only to find my left t30 bolt has been stripped by the previous owner 🙃
How did you get it out? I have the same issue same side too!! Smh

I think you should have different colors on the key chain👍🏼
I accidentally ripped my connector changing my steering wheel 😭
same 😢, was tryna put a custom wheel on and yanked my whole clock spring off 🤦🏾♂️.. what did you end up doing?

Or you can buy a 20$ aftermarket part
