I think he was very very guarded. Smartly, talking to congress is like talking to a cop that stops you. The least you say, the better, the more kind of dumb you play it, the better.

He's so full of shit. Not a single thing he says is an authentic reply, it's all calculated to be as little offensive to as large a group of people as possible. He talks like a bad lawyer trying to keep his client Facebook out of jail. Wouldn't be surprised if even the religious thing is a lie he discovered after understanding the majority of the world (=many of his users) are still religious.

Zuckerberg is so confident, and he seems to have highly nuanced perspectives on things. I wish Lex had asked him "What might really shake you and make you doubt whether what you're doing is good?"

Although I agree, that is a question that needs to be asked I also think that in some way Lex doesnt have to ask... its all there for us to see. Lex is brilliant imo... its Lex´s non confrontatonal ways that even makes Zuckerberg talk. I share Zuckerbergs condition but we have nothing at all in common except for being socially "wierd".
I dont know if this is becouse of cultural difference or the fact that Zuckerberg have trained his social skills a long time but from my perspective if he feels fear about anything he doesnt feel enough of it. That power attention and responsibility would terrify me and being confronted about it would stress me to the point of PTSD.
I hope that helped in some way.

Mark managed to say nothing for 3 hours! He only intimated they were working on "things to help businesses." Of course they are. Their stream of advertising revenue is about to be turned upside down by AGI. These two should get married since they enjoy stroking each other. We know they enjoy wrestling with each other. (Not that there's anything wrong with that - I would enjoy wrestling with Lex as well.) As far as his more developed interpersonal skills go, there were too many um, uh, and like, spoken for me to take him seriously as a CEO of one of the largest technology companies on the planet. He still sounds like a college kid who can't articulate what his company is doing.

Possibly the best question ever. "Building AGI might make you the most powerful man in the world, do you worry that that power might corrupt you"
I hoped to be reassured by listening to Mark Zuckerberg. I was reassured to hear that he was a man of faith. that does help with the Hubris thing, but overall I was a little unsettled.
He seemed boy like, not taking his work seriously enough, like he was still a spotty teenager doing fun coding in the garage.
He seemed to think that making his products open sourced somehow ensured they would be hardened and corrected by others, and that that would absolve him of responsibility for anything that may go wrong.
I suspect he also thinks that "people are basically good" so he will not have a handle on how maliciously others will use his products
So no I did not come away thinking this civilization changing technology is in good hands.

Mark's point about AI becoming a life coach is interesting. I would want to hear his opinion on the ending of Dan Brown's novel, Origin where the life coach AI plots to kill its owner to make his announcement more sensational & gain more viewership, something the owner tasked the AI upon (ironic). How do you decide the threshold beyond which AI is deemed too dangerous?

RE Mixed reality, that could be a very effective tool in training MMA and other striking sports to be able to train against your upcoming opponent.
An example would be doing pad work, with your opponent displayed onto your training partner and the coach can mimic certain moves, strikes etc opponents movements etc to better train for professional fighters.
Would also be a great training aid for Police, SWAT, army etc in doing dynamic room clearing training etc. lots of potential.

However, a lot of billionaires get lost in their glory I think, Mark has been following a noble path of self improvement despite his economic success. I have also found him to be quite a pleasant and thoughtful person after seeing his JRE/Lex appearances. I disagree with a lot of his business practices, morally, but I hope this growth of his will bleed into his business practices, and unless there are sinister reasons behind it as some have suggested, his willingness to open source projects is a good sign this could be happening already. Now I'd just like to see a much greater emphasis on protecting our data from unlawful spying and invasive marketing practice.
