thank you, i really was interested in learning this bow stroke but i didnt understand it very well, but you explain it very clear and give us good tips....excellent video, thank you and MERY CHRISTMAS!
Really enjoyed this video. I am not aware of this bowing technique and its name . I shall have a look through my music and see if I can find some sautillè. Thank you
Thank you so much Lauren, this ist so useful! I'm struggling a bit with this bow stroke especially because I need to keep my right hand relaxed. Thank you and Merry Christmas Lauren!❤🤗🌹🎅
Love the sound of that stroke but I don’t see it fitting in my old timey style I’m aiming for. Listening to you and learning from you is always a blessing! Maybe one day I’ll try the classic music. 🎻❤️
Your right hand, wrist and forearm drop below the video. How are you doing such rapid bow direction changes? Are you using your fingers (a very rapid colle?), wrist, forearm, or perhaps a combination?
A few words about bow quality wouldn’t go amiss. Better bows minimize needed effort. That’s why a great bow is not cheap. What bow are you using? Would be interesting to do this exercise with cheaper bows to illustrate the value of a good stick.
Hey Lauren I love all your videos. You really instill confidence in the relaxed and professional way you teach.
Thanks so much, Antonio! Really appreciate that 🙏
Just discovered your channel, I like how you teach this and break it down. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Could you zoom the camera out so we can see the right hand wrist motion at speed please?

Another vote for zooming out so we can see the bow arm/hand, too. Thanks for the video! : )
Next time I film a video specific to the bow, I will keep this in mind. :)

It’s true, you don’t often see this technique in fiddle tunes! Luckily there are plenty of other fun bowings & techniques for that style 😃
