I actually think that was in S1 when Steve arranged to meet Tony Gates at midnight after he went AWOL after he saved Steve from being tortured. Ted had some officers watching his flat for his own protection, who saw Steve entering after midnight. Knowing this information, Ted then asked Steve the next day if he had a good nights sleep. Steve obviously lied (as he wouldn't want Hastings knowing who he had seen) which made Ted a little angry...
I love the character Ted, and being that Adrian Dunbar is able to understand the character so well, he surely must have similar qualities, at least I love to believe that - in the world we live in today, people like Ted are too rare. Ted is someone who has integrity and humility, he's the down-to-earth boss we've all wished we had, and AC 12 is the team we all wish we could be a part of, this is one of the most important aspects of successful tv shows - we all want to be a part of a family or team like that. Ted's quotes remind me of my grandparents, even though they were born here in the U.S., my grandmother's ancestors are Scots-Irish, and she used to say the exact phrases and others that were similar. And my grandfather's family is from England & Ireland, and things he said were very similar, too, he always used the word, "Fella".
My old dad was Irish. Whenever he was annoyed he would shout JESUS MARY AND JOSEPH. I think in his life he may have said it nearly as many times as Ted.

That's the point. H wasn't the mastermind as they already had clocked Tommy Hunter as the ring leader. H wasn't some big grand mastermind but rather a middleman for the OCG which is more realistic.

Writing this 9 hours before the episode begins. I reckon that with Ted due to retire, he is going to go out with guns blazing and will take down H but then be shot and killed in the line of duty. It will be a tearful farewell to our favourite character but he will take a place of honour in the memories of all fans.

Almost certainly she is what's her name's aunty and sister and mother and grandmother. And was rubbish at spelling. A certain sign of incest. Without doubt it couldn't be anyone else at all. Or it's that senior copper with the peaked cap who just talks to the press and never sits down ... definitely him, without any doubt at all. He is rubbish at spelling too. Or it's the head of '12 who has bribed the scriptwriter into keeping him on the show to increase his pension pot in real life ... it's definitely him without a shadow of a doubt. Plus I have a suspicion about how good he is at spelling. Or ...

I strongly believe that H (the fourth man) is actually the 'the fourth woman' and it is Hasting's boss - not the the new head of the merged anti-corruption but the older woman, the one in the fancy wood paneled office always talking about optics this optics that. Or may be the 3 women including Kate are H in a femme fatale kind of angle controlling all the men and their silly little society. One of his expressions I did not get, was "well, back to the coalface, the pair of ya", I've never heard the term "coalface" but found out it means, like at the coalface of the mine, referring to the thoughts and actions of the people who are *actually doing the job where real work is done* not just where people talk about it, as in *engaged in work at an active rather than a theoretical level in a particular field.*
I learned bout "coalface" watching "The Thick of It" they were always trying to score a big political headline by going out into the field, and it was always a disaster. XD
Well after the finale we had the usual update on the fate of the characters but we didn’t get it on Ted,Steve and Kate so who knows? I’d be up for another series😍
