- In the last episode of The Mandalorian Season 2, episode 5, The Jedi, with Ahsoka Tano, we got tons of new information and name drops, including Grand Admiral Thrawn and Baby Yoda's real name, Grogu.
Of those many things, we learned that Tython is where Mando must take Grogu, The Child.
Tython is the most pivotal planet in Star Wars lore. It is where the first Jedi come from, or I should say, the Je'Daii.
If you’ve never read the Dawn of the Jedi comics, I highly recommend them. They’re an awesome read and really give you an understanding of the lore behind Tython. I’ll summarize the events of the planet so when you go into watching the next episode, or whenever Mando takes Grogu to Tython, you’ll be up to par, should the show use old legends lore, which I think they might draw things from.
Who knows what The Mandalorian Season 2 will show us once we go to the ancient planet. I hope we'll see Luke Skywalker eventually, but if we don't, there is a literal world of lore that we're about to enter and learn about, or rather, Grogu will learn about.

Hey theory, I believe this is pretty damning evidence that luke will be the one to find the child. Around this time luke will be trying to put together his jedi order and he's scrounging around the galaxy for the ancient jedi texts that he had in 'the last jedi'. I guarantee tython is where he gets them.
It makes me sad on how good the sequels would’ve been with David Filoni as the head directer
I hope they get rid of them and something happens to where thosr were a different timeline because the sequels are an absolute joke
and characters still exist, but the story is different

@@DerEchteBabo No, she isn't. She is not nearly as involved in the Mandalorian as she was the sequels. While they are just rumours, there are multiple sources that say she has been banned from the set. And even if she isn't, she has no creative freedom with the show like she did with the movies.
hands down and they should fully take control of the franchise with George as an advisor. On Disney + there is a documentary which to me indicates that they are gathering a team of directors, possibly to help build and expand the universe.

Dave Filoni is on track to singlehandedly bringing all of the old legends content back into canon. Super excited to see what plays out on Tython in the show

Not all of it. Filoni himself threw away a lot of Legends content before Disney with TCW. A lot of great EU stuff from the Clone Wars Multimedia project that unfortunately do not fit in TCW's continuity. See:

Also to add a little bit to this, Mace Windu wasn't completely aligned to the light side of the force being in a more balanced state like the original Jed'ai of Tython. Him being there would ultimately make a whole lot of sense.

1: Ezra
2: Luke
3: Cal
4: Mace
I don’t think cal would, Jedi fallen order took place like, 20 years before the mandalorian. But it would be great to see Mace, Luke or Ezra. (And if they’re searching for thrown then Ezra will likely be Thrawn into the mix)

Step 3: introduce Revan? I hope so.
Filoni and Favreau (being fans of the EU) know how popular Revan is with hardcore fans. I never thought Tython would be acknowledged by a movie/show, so anything can happen now. They are planting seeds for their expanded universe (with what Ahsoka and Bo-Kitan are doing) why not plant the seeds for a Revan series.
Yes! That would be soooooo good. Technically, Revan is already canon, because to have the Mandolorians fighting the ancient Jedi, you need Revan to be the Jedi fighting back. The war can’t have happened without Revan.

Can you do a vid where you recap the entirety of Star Wars? Movies, books, comics, cartoons etc? I know it’s a huge project since Star Wars has such a deep lore but I’d totally watch it.
Every May 4th star wars explained does a video like this. They are very good and adds any new story added in the year since the last video. I'd give it a watch. I'd highly recommend it

It was the biggest moment of the episode for me (which didn't lack for big moments) I love SWTOR, but I thought Disney had made everything about it non-canon. I hope they at least put some easter eggs in the Tython episode, like a statue of Satele Shan or Kira Carsen.

And honestly everything they mentioned from the old republic was the ones from the comics never from the games. So 99.9% chance its not happening

I started reading comics from star wars legends a month ago and dawn of the jedi is the first series that i finished. The rakatan are such a cool and terrifying race and i love that there are neither sith or jedi yet in that timeperiod. Just the je'daii who fight for balance and the rakatan with their slaves.

As I said on another channel, Filoni and crew not only hit S2E5 out of the park, it went into orbit!! What an amazing episode in all it showed, implied and laid the groundwork for. THIS is the wonder that captured so many of our imaginations back in 1977...
Dave might be telling us the story of how the Jedi begun thru the Mandalorian and if that’s what he plans to do I’m gonna be beyond happy diving deep into lore finally being brought to the screen thank u Dave. This is the way! 🙏🏻

@@wraith2939 i wouldn't reintroduce the rakata into the canon (personal taste, i disliked the whole 'precursor overlord race' archetype), also Revan was not indirectly reintroduced: unfortunately the war between mandalorians and jedi referenced in current canon is not the Mandalorian Wars where Revan fought, its a much more recent conflict

As a die hard fan of the game Star Wars the old republic, I’m happy to see they’re bringing tython to live action
When I heard the planet tythonn I was so surprised and excited but I wish we would explore tythonn in a Jedi series like a luke skywalker series instead of a mandalorian series
Gosh I went crazy when I heard of Tython so many flashes to the old republic popped into my mind
I love how they’re bringing some of the coolest stuff into the mainstream. Here’s a crazy theory. I’m thinking that there’s some dark side users out there. Perhaps the Emperor while recovering has an apprentice out doing his work and I think Mando will get the darksaber and fight this dark sider. Now this is where I think the fan service will come in. Mando and Grogu arrive on a planet, it’s dark and gloomy and we know from Grogu’s reaction, this is a dark place to be. They encounter a shrine, a wall mounted in trophies, Mandalorian helmets, but most notable dozens of lightsabers. Introducing a mysterious cloaked figure who explains they’ve been stranded on the planet for over ten years. Befriending Mando, it’s clear though that that this cloaked man is actually a threat and it’s soon revealed that he wants to take on Grogu as his apprentice. He then explains he was trained in the ways of the Sith where he was the secret apprentice of Darth Vader. He removes the cloak revealing Starkiller. The Emperor found out Bader had an apprentice and instead of killing Starkiller, he improved him on the planet to fester in the darkness and to embrace his hatred. One of many contingency plans as the Emperor planned on taking him on as his apprentice should Vader fail. Eventually though he’d abandon that plan when Ben and Rey turn up. So now we have Starkiller, a Jedi hunter battling a darksaber wielding Mando. It’d be so cool. They’ve spoken about bringing Starkiller back in some kind of way in the past. Perhaps as an inquisitor, but each time they’ve avoided it. I definitely think with how things are going, he will become canon.
Absolutely sincere well done to Dave and Jon with breathing new life into the Star Wars universe 💪🏻

There’s a few more Jedi alive in the Mandolorian. We could see Luke in either season 3 or season 2 episode 8 but I think Ezra or Cal will be on Tython.
Can you also explain how Boba Fett looks so much older than Bo-Katan in the Mandalorian? Boba was a child in The Clone Wars lol.

I know Tython is an incredibly pivotal location for the Jedi, but I really don't think we're going to get Luke. I believe Dave is really trying to stay away from all of the main "Skywalker Saga" stuff

He's done that, as has Matthew Stover in the SW novel 'Shatterpoint'. He'd have killed Dooku and died to Jango in the same moment, but the war would go on. Perhaps not as devastatingly without Dooku at the forefront, but it would happen anyways.
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Tython first appeared in the 2007 novel Darth Bane: Rule of Two, where it was the original homeworld of the Je'daii Order and its successor organization, the Jedi Order. was a planet located in the galaxy's Deep Core and shrouded in myth. Some Jedi scholars made a case for Tython as the location of the Jedi Order's first temple alongside other candidate worlds, such as Ahch-To, Coruscant, Jedha, and Ossus. During the Galactic Civil War, Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra led Darth Vader to Tython's Meridional Ice Cap to mislead him as to the location of the Rebel Alliance's main base, which was actually on the Outer Rim planet Hoth. And grid coordinates L-10

I absolutely freakin love that they're incorporating Tython into live action tv, or any tv series for that matter. Tython is cool is hell and some of the most fun ive ever had in a game was when I was first exploring Tython in SWTOR.
