- Nigerians are winning in every sector everywhere in the world, from Afrobeats with singers like burna boy, Davido, wizkid, asake, rema,Kizz Daniel, fireboy, oxlade, victony, selling out arenas all over the world, to movies thanks to nollywood becoming the 2nd largest industry in the world in terms of output, Nigerian movies are so popular especially on the continent,as most Africans grew up watching Nigerian movies, and now Nigerian movies has its own category on platforms like Netflix and Amazon prime. It’s the soft power that Nigeria has had on the continent and now the world. Latest Nigerian movies is always a top search on UA-cam. Nigerian fashion is also now competing with the likes of the met gala,the Oscar’s of the Grammies. Even Nigerian food is being sampled by more People now. From Nigerian Jollof rice, to fufu and egusi,to plantain and so on now Nigerian food challenge is a trend. Nigerian traditional weddings so rich in culture has become something everyone wants to experience especially if they get to wear the agbada which is the common outfit for Yoruba grooms. This video talks about Nigerias rise to having this soft power and what it means for Nigeria but especially for Africa has a continent.
Most people get confused with Nigerian people and the Nigerian government. Nigerian people are way ahead of their government. Nigerians are confident, sophisticated, fearless, bold, and friendly people. The Nigerian government and people who run it are still behind the times.

I have an indian class mate in Canada when he bought his new car and i went to check it, he was blasting afrobeat songs an when i asked him he said that he loves afrobeat and thats why he subscribed to it. Even me that im Nigerian i dont know some of those songs the guy was blasting in his car. Its amazing, i felt so proud that day bcos some years back when i was in Nigeria, we watch indian movies and we tried to mimic indian songs but now indians are the ones listening and vibing to our song afrobeat.

It's called "Soft Power". A soft power that the Nigerian Government (unfortunately) is not using taking advantage of.
China use soft power first with Karate 🥋 Movies. Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, etc. America uses soft power with Rambo, Commando, Music, Hip-hop & entertainment industry, to WHO. I British use James Bond etc. To a point where you see any Chinese or white person on the street you just trust them immediately subconsciously.
Nigeria has that same "soft power" but the Nigerian Government is really not keying into it as a resource.
These "soft power" is used to influence people, countries and Govts worldwide. Other Countries to get policies through with other Countries. Countries can use its soft power topple govts.

Now Imagine if Megan Markle or someone like Davido agrees to be a spy for Nigeria, and becomes friends with President Biden kids and or even marry, and start telling them things the Nigerian Government told him to pass along to influence world policies.
