When you're depressed..put on some Cohen. He'll assure you, he'll walk with you. And, you'll make it through. That's what Cohen does. Still does. The Master lives.
Someone like Leonard Cohn Never Dies he lives on in our hearts forever down the generations who have yet to discover what a Humble sincere genuine human being he was❤❤❤
I sailed like a swan I sank like a rock But time is long gone Past my laughingstock And i can make the hills The system is shot I am living on pills For which i thank God
One of my regrets never seeing in concert. I got into Leonard Cohen late. My brother gifted my mother one of his later CD's and all the years of not wanting to hear Cohen disappeared and suddenly I listened and became a fan. Ironically both my brother and mother have passed on and that one album means more to me now. It was my doorway with an open mind and ive been collecting ever since.
Saw him live in Liverpool....... the 70 odd year old geezer skipped onto the stage in a beautiful suit with a fabric matching trilby, bare foot onto a Persian rug..........and sang...........and stunned everyone there. Magical.......... R I P Lenny
I have had exactly the same thought. Many of his songs are so personal to him it is hard to clearly know what he is expressing, yet his lyrics burn themselves into your brain. It is often as if each subsequent word or phrase, is the perfect one for the occasion. I am not good at remembering lyrics, but it seems impossible to forget his
This song touches me so deeply. My dad passed away last July and we didn't say goodbye, but this song sounds like something he'd leave me behind with. "What I left undone, she will certainly do." It's such a powerful line and gives me a feeling of strength and hope. It is so masterfully done, it sounds like a dance between life and death, joy and grief, hope and despair. But ends perfectly combining the two. I am in awe! Rest in peace Leonard, I bet you and my dad are great friends up there.
Wow... you are so blessed.... I wouldn't dare to have spoken a word to him, I guess... I only wish I could have thanked him once, for making the Journey of life with me in his songs and poems because there is always a song of love, hope, despair to guide us. So: thanks for the Songs Mr Cohen... Blessed Be, Althea )0(
One particular detail I noted about this song’s music video is that despite the man’s depressed/somber look on his face, he continues walking towards his goal (“the hills”) anyway, even when it looks impossible for him. That is pure meaningful right there.
Here I go again.....I still can't listen to The Master without crying... Especially now the world is falling apart, we need his wisdom, his Beauty, his Poetry, his Voice, his Comfort. Mister Cohen understood all our feelings and he wasn't afraid to speak the truth about politics, humanrelations, etc. And now, he is still speaking to us, he's still here for us.. But the pain of him being gone, when will that go away? Maybe I'm just crazy.... But This was such a special Gentleman... And we are "The Broken Hearted many, the Open Hearted few..." Thanks for the songs, Mr.Cohen, thanks for a way of living.... About the clip: it's perfect, it's in the style of the master, thank you makers..... Blessed Be and be safe everyone...; Althea )0(
Jest 4 w nocy, jego głos sprawia, że moje serce spowalnia, po całodzienny dniu stresu polskiej rzeczywistości. Ten cudowny artysta wprowadza mnie w inny świat, w moim sercu na zawsze to mój anioł. This newly released Leonard Cohen song “The Hills“ caused me to tear up the first time I heard it, I’m glad that there is still some unreleased music of his that was recently released. R.I.P. Leonard Cohen you were an amazing artist who understood the human condition quite well, and you were probably the last of your time.
Alessandro Vittoria Thank you, I have the album, the entire album caused me to tear up when I first heard it. He was such an amazing artist, who had a way with words like no other
For me, it's about the hope for hope. The remembering of what we lost, what was left behind, yet keeps beating in our heart. Same can be said about Faith.
Life at the end in loneliness, love and loss and loneliness again but acceptance of life's emptiness no heading for the hills good bye Leonard Good night. RIP
For many years, I feel as if something is holding me back from understanding Leonard Cohen. Is it my intellect, lack of experience, lack of maturity, age or something else? Even though you are no longer with us, I promise you that I will not stop trying to understand you. Thank you, Master.
“While giving me head, on that unmade bed. You said you preferred handsome men...but for me you would make an exception.” He wrote those words about a true giant in his field (Janice Joplin), As a true giant in his field. The Chelsea Hotel #2. I really feel that song more than any other explains him perfectly.
Don't try to understand with your mind.. understand with your heart. Just close your eyes and open your soul...That's when the Magic will happen... Blessed Be, Althea )0(
@@DarkOps2442 really? Lol! Yes, I think everyone understand that line!;) . But I know what she means.. I think you don't have to try to understand the lyrics with your mind. But with your soul.... These songs guided me through my life even if I didn't fully understand the meaning or meanings because it's so personal. Songs I listened when I was 18, now seem to have a different meaning.... Even the studied professors argue about the lyrics but they all forgot 1 thing: it's the life from Mr Cohen, only he knows... and we know if we close our eyes and listen to our souls... You made me langs today with your example, thank you for that! Blessed Be, Althea )0(
Just discovered these songs today. He has saved my life and sanity and still continues to do so. I will incarnate into any world where Leonard is gifting us his the beauty and wisdom of his music.
Death is nothing more than a convoluted concept. Nobody dies, they pass on They pass on their passions, perspectives, habits, hobbies, & yes even their silly little eccentricities to those who knew them best. Leonard Cohen, an excellent musician, poet, today bad music and musical tastes abound even more that moral values have been lost in people and in love. long live love, respect, peace and life.

This MV reminds me of a few scenes from the new movie Soul. Go take a look, facing the great beyond may not be so scary. RIP, Cohen, what a beautiful dance you’ve had...
Thanks Mr. Cohen. Again. And again. Picture you with Marianne on Hydra now. Saw this video three times now. First i was desperate, these apocalyptic scenes seemed so real right now. Great comment man
It's actually up to you
The singer who almost never sings. Legend.
He sings but it's in the D2-A2 range whispering so it sounds a bit like talking
There will never be another Leonard Cohen.... so beautiful
We are so lucky to have him !
In my opinion Leonard Cohen is the greatest songwriter of all time. There have been many ' Greats ' but none so great as Lenny.
I just love this man...I wish I'd have known him

Even in Death his VOICE still LIKE a Thunderbolt
to my Soul.
His voice can never be Duplicated.
I'm still crying that means there is hope for us.
This is a hug we all need right now.
Thank you.
"I've seen the future, brother, It is murder"... When I heard that in 90's I felt that that was not a poetic vision but a prophecy.

J'ai accompagné mon père pour mourrir il y a 1 mois aujourd'hui et j'écoutais cette chanson qui me faisait penser à mon cher papa d'amour 😥😥
I got the chills the entire video.... Held back my tears.... I love his afterlife videos his children put together.
The last poet of our generation...
"What I left undone, she will certainly do..." What a line!
Yeah that one really got to me
Reminds me of that Dylan lyric from it takes alot to laugh it takes a train to cry when he says if I don't make it you know my baby will.
Such poetry. He is missed.
