    No Vod review this week, just a ranked progress review and my thoughts. (I did say in the video I would vod review, but it didn't make the final edit)

    I'm an asc 3 player and seeing a GM start from the beginning has been very grounding. It's so nice to see someone show the bits and pieces that get glossed over in other progression stories, really love seeing you climb man.

    Thanks for the update man! I cant wait for you to get the hang of this game and then hop back on to one of the other games you used to play and notice a massive improvement in your gameplay in those games as well. Tac FPS games are so underappreciated in this regard.

      I can definitely see how it would help in other games, some of the best fps players seem to come from CSGO

    Hey I just wanted to say amazing video, a breath of fresh air in the current stale state of Valorant, I wanted to ask if you would be down to grind ranked next ACT (I'm peek immortal 1 so can give a tip here and there maybe) I stream Valorant daily so yeah if you would like to please do write. In any case loved the video!

    Love listening to you break down your progress and knowledge, helps for other games too. Honestly mental is probably one of the most important parts of improving, but a lot of people don't even think about it.

    A lot of the Unranked to (insert high rank here) are primarily just established good players at Valorant already, basically smurfing and giving some generic, one dimensional advice to get out of X rank. Your documentary of this is really refreshing to listen to. A real experience of picking up valorant is something I've been looking for a lot lately. I've personally peaked silver 1 after my first episode (episode 6), and I'm quite happy with my progress, here's to getting higher ranks!

    just wanna say ive been a big fan watching all your content; you're very concise and to the point with what you're talking about, also you're doing great with the informational content along with just kinda saying what your opinion and experience has been, keep up the great work

    • @cooksay
      @cooksay Рік тому

      i will say one thing i noticed with you're experience, you have the mechanics, you have the aim, but its hard to stay calm in unfamiliar situations, deathmatch you do great because that is your specialty, I feel like you just need to queue allot more games, maybe replacing some of your deathmatches with spike rush games, the same non serious way of deathmatch, but you get to continue to play through the actual game

    • @SilkyCrisp
      @SilkyCrisp  Рік тому +1

      @@cooksay Thank you my friend. I agree, the pressure of comp gunfights leads to me crouch spraying. I'm going to try and queue more ranked games daily. I don't think 2 per day is enough, but I'm trying to set up a long term habit as well so I stay consistent without burning myself out. I agree, I think more unrated/swiftplay, etc. would help me a lot. Thanks again for the kind comment and the advice!

    Hey man, love the video quality improvement. Some in-game criticisms here if you find them at all helpful. One thing I noticed when you DM is you have a blue bar in your shooting error graph a lot when you take your first shot and then it turns yellow after. Try to wait longer than you think you need to before shooting after you let go of your strafe key, and then the first shot will be accurate. Better to take more time to be accurate, than constantly training yourself to react faster (I'm sure this concept directly correlates with aim training in certain scenarios). Another thing you can experiment with is trying to pre-aim more often than not before peeking an angle, which will help you recognize your crosshair placement for certain angles a bit faster than if you are constantly wrapping/rotating your crosshair around corners as you expose more of the area. Preaiming means you'll probably get punished more when your crosshair isn't already head-level before peeking that angle, so you'll be relying less on your raw aim and forced to learn the correct head height for that angle. This is a small trick that has helped a lot of my students improve their crosshair placement and learn the correct head height for areas in the map that they always struggle to take gunfights at.
    I hope this comment is of any help to you and wish you all the best with your journey in Valorant and content creation!

    Loving this series. Gold first act playing in platinum MMR is great,there’s people who play twice as much as you daily and are still stuck silver. If you have the extra time some days I’d really recommend swiftplay. Swiftplay helped me find my favourite agents and learn the maps faster,I essentially use the gamemode as a testing ground for any techniques or agents I want to learn without throwing RR.

    The first 6 months I played this game I had a similar experience where I would fluctuate between the ranks of Bronze 2- Silver 2, Even though my mechanics where sound. Then one day a lot of my game sense clicked and the agents I played I mastered with guides, Lineups, watching pros until I climbed till Gold 2. Then in the last 3 or 4 months I’ve been hard stuck gold 2. It’s all about recognizing how to use your agents abilities, but then now (what I’m learning) where your agent is best positioned in a lot of different and unique situations. I would suggest sticking to Kay/0 and just absolutely nerding about every detail, lineup and nuance to his kit, and practice them while studying how pros play him, where they position him, how they play him etc.. Or just do all that but with Jett. Jett has dynamic and interesting play that you can study to give yourself an advantage with knowledge and movement. When playing initiator a lot of time you’re coming to set your team up and just praying your teammates are used to it enough to capitalize on it. With Jett you ask for utile, and even if you don’t get it, you have a dash, two smokes, updraft, so many possibilities to quickly adapt and give yourself an advantage.. Good luck

    You should try playing Phoenix. I'm in a similar spot as you as I've had great success in other games (top 500 R6, top 250 WZ, top 250 fortnite solos, few other games) but new to taking Val seriously. He's what I've used to climb this season; he has flashes, a smoke (his wall), the ability to heal, a free extra life every couple rounds, and a molotov. A lot more versatile than Reyna imo. I've gotten from silver to plat this season
