      I agree, but it's hard to produce both quality and quantity. The argument that Disney has enough money to do both doesnt quite cut it either, it's not just budgets but people. You can't stretch Dave Filoni too far and there arent many directors/producers that have the same calibre in regards to Star Wars. It's obvious that Disney are trying to replicate their success with Marvel by have an abundance fo media to consume all in the same universe but I genuinely think they need to slow dowm, at least in the film/tv mediums.

      @@MALICEM12 It’s the same problem with all three franchises though;
      No one got “burnt out on cape shit,” Marvel just made too many terrible products in a row, same with COD and Star Wars.
      Have you ever heard anyone ever say “Man, I’m so burnt out on this franchise that just keeps making good movies. I hate all this amazingly well written content I’m getting!!!!”
      No. Because that doesn’t happen.
      People don’t get bored of good things, they get tired of terrible things, but the medium or franchise gets blamed when it’s the writing of said franchise that’s the actual culprit.

    I didn't outright hate BOBF the same way some did, but it was really such a missed opportunity. It is three shows in one. It is a story of Boba's survival and post ROTJ pre Mandalorian journey. It is (trying to be) a crime epic. And it is the Mandalorian season 2.5. I especially would've liked to see one whole season of Boba vs. Cad Bane. It could be intercut with flashbacks of their training together and the last time they confronted each other, leading up to a Western style finale. It could have been done.

    • @njebei
      @njebei 2 роки тому +18

      Totally agree. Not using Cad Bane early was a huge missed opportunity. Boba spent so much time in the bacta tank and we didn't see a single flashback to his duel with Cad Bane. I suppose they did it to keep the late season reveal a surprise but seeing him earlier would have given the season more stakes. Wiping out the sand people and replacing them with thinly characterized Mods was a huge mistake too.

    • @officialmonarchmusic
      @officialmonarchmusic 2 роки тому +3

      @@njebei I think something in the middle could have been done. If Cad Bane hadn't died at the end of season 1 (They might bring him back which would be annoying) or better, if he'd just been a last-minute reveal at the end of the season, (Which wouldn't change very much at all if you think about it) the next season could've had shorter flashbacks strategically placed throughout the season of their training and their last fight. (Keep it the same as the discarded CW episode except Boba never gets a shot off and Cad Bane walks away thinking Boba is dead) Boba running his hand over that dent in his helmet intercut with that would be really cool. We have a ton of encounters, and then finally, we get something along the lines of the season 1 finale. (But better written and directed) Killing him after his VERY MINOR ROLE in 2 episodes was a mistake and honestly disrespectful to the original character.

      I just didn’t like what they did in Book of Boba. I wish the last scene of the show would have been him taking Jabba’s throne. And the rest of the show showing his whole journey, childhood with his father, his time making a name for himself as a teenage bounty Hunter, how he became an amoral ruthless killer that worked for the Empire, and then his fall and how he found himself again in the desert. Then when he finally takes Jabba’s throne, it would be up to the audience to interpret if he would stick to his new found morality or resort back to his old self.

      Oh yeah, the Boba/Cad Bane relationship really needed to be fleshed out way more that it was if they were going to use him as the show’s final villain. Too much left up to implication and suggested offscreen history.

      Cad Bane was a late addition....He was never supposed to be in it!
      Boba Fett was at its best in the flashbacks with the Tuskens - The Mandalorian episodes were stolen from Mando Season 3 and added in because the people in charge didn't like the original ending and wanted it changed!
      No idea if the original ending was going to be good or not BUT Rodriguez, with those ridiculous mopeds, had destroyed any faith the fanbase had in this show!

With Kenobi and Boba Fett being shows that were mostly mediocre with a few, small, standout moments and the Bad Batch was a good show with a relatively underwhelming finale and a little too much filler, I was kind of beginning to care much less. Andor showed me that Star Wars can have shows that are written well and actually really good additions to Star Wars, and knowing that Mando 3, Bad Batch 2, and Ahsoka are all coming out next year fills me with hope that it can get better and be great. @@Alex-02 no, he made the point that having the same special thing over and over again diminishes how special it is. The issue is that Disney Star Wars wasn’t special to begin with, their first moves were to cancel Clone Wars, cancel a bunch of upcoming games like Star Wars 1313, and decanonize everything, after that they released the Sloppily written Aftermath trilogy of books, then TFA which seemed solely reliant on nostalgia pandering (South Park later coining the term “Member berries” to refer to this, which I still see used quite a bit), and the rest of the sequel trilogy played out like a child in a divorce case being tugged in two different directions by adoptive parents (JJ and Rian) who both seemingly only wanted to use the child to spite the other parent.

    I feel like the concept of "franchise fatigue" is a myth. I don't think the frequency of projects has anything to do with how they are received. Since early in Disney Star Wars people have been people complaining about getting a couple of hours Star Wars content a year, saying that it's too much, and it makes no sense to me because at the same time people were eating up about 5 times as much content in hours of Game of Thrones per year without ever complaining that there was too much of it. And when Game of Thrones did fall in its final season, it wasn't because people were tired of the show, it was because the last season was just bad.
    With any myth there is a potential for there to be a kernel of truth to it, and with franchise fatigue that kernel is that if there is a lot of content, there is just more of a chance for there to be bad content and that bad content has a chance of turning people off from future content. But that said, I don't think the relationship between content frequency and bad content is causal, it's just correlational. As with many great TV shows like Game of Thrones (minus final season), Breaking Bad, or even old great shows with 20+ episodes per season like Buffy or TNG, or even as the MCU has shown us for the majority of its existence, people are perfectly capable of enjoying copious amounts content from a single franchise in a single year.
    The real problem with Disney Star Wars is the same problem the DCEU had: they went into it wanting what the MCU had without wanting to putting in the work to build up to it the way the MCU did it. As you pointed out, they announced several projects like how Marvel does, but many of those announcements were paper facades with no actual projects fleshed out behind them. The problem is a lack of planning and communication behind the scenes.

Disney are going for quantity rather than quality with their two largest IPs. This is coming at the cost of the fans. There is no time to sit and think and discuss shows because Disney needs to keep you subscribed to Disney +, by flooding you with content from your favourite brands all the time. I was born in 1986, and I would say that the best time to be a SW fan throughout my lifetime was between the release of Episode 2 and Episode 3. The hype was UNREAL. It felt like the whole world was on edge waiting to see Anakin finally becoming Darth Vader. It's interesting actually how LITTLE the poor reception to Episode 1 and 2 did to kill the hype for Episode 3. That's one big difference between the prequel and sequel trilogy. With the sequels, peoples disapointment in the first two movies (aspecially the second one) pretty much killed the hype for the final movie of the trilogy. But with the sequels, even though most people agreed that the first two movies were kinda bad (just HOW bad was a point of contention) people STILL were hyped as fuck for episode 3. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that in the late 90's/early 00's (in fact all the way up to Disney buying SW) SW had this aura of being something more than just movies. New SW movies was as if new chapters of an actuall mythology was being revelaed. And even in cases where the chapter kinda sucked, it was still part of that mythology. SW had an aura of significance to it that is hard to put into words. And then of course, regarding the hype for Ep 3, there is no denying that a lot of it had to do with the fact that we essentially KNEW what was going to happen; we were gonna see Anakin become Vader. Even people with a mere passing interest in SW was hyped for that shit. Even talkshow hosts and other people in media who didn't seem like especially "nerdy" guys seemed to talk about the upcoming final episode of SW with GENUINE excitement, not the kind of phony exceitement that they always have to show towards new products. Personally, I had a teacher who was in his 60's at that point who didn't seem like a nerd of any stretch but who in he weeks leading up to the shows premiere talked with us students about how he coudln't wait to see Anakins transition to Vader. And among those of us that actually WERE nerds... oh God, the hype cannot be put into words. It just cannot. We spent so much of our lives discussing that upcoming movie in the years between that and Ep 2. I remember one thread on a forum that asked the genuine question "What will you spend your time with once the movie is out and over?", as in, what the hell will we do to fill the void left when we know that there are no more upcoming Star Wars movies to speculate about?
    Indeed, I don't want to sound like an old "Kids these days could never understand" guy but... At the very least I can say that as hyped as people were for that very first Disney SW movie, it pails in comparasion to the Ep 3 hype, as well as the Ep 1 and 2 hype. Someone older than me will have to tell me how the prequel era hype stakcs up to the OT hype.

    I have to say that my love for this franchise never stopped existing. Since forever it has excellent works and some works that are terrible. I lived to see Rise of Skywalker in a almost empty theater on opening week. Like it's STAR WARS, and no one was talking about it besides how bad it was. But nowadays we are so pumped to see Andor season 2, or Mando season 3 and, of course, Jedi Survivor. Star Wars isn't just a product and a movie series, it's the universe, the characters we love, that exist in film, television, books, games, comics, etc and those may or may not be good.

    I think that the hype of mandalorian would have been fine if the obi wan series was a movie. Meaning they could buy much more time to make after the book of boba fett. At that point it would have been probably a year when the book of boba would have released (minimum 6 months after the obi movie) and so the basically mandalorian episodes would still pay off because we would have waited for more time. Since Andor is notas heavy star wars as both boba and obi wan it could have been released at the same time, and then it would lead to the Ashoka and Mando series to be released in 2023, the other series should be release in 2024, otherwise it's really too much starwars to actually enjoy

    When I was younger, I used to love Star Wars, but tbh Disney truly killed it for me. I've stopped watching the shows, and I just can't bring myself to accept some of the changes they've made to the franchise. It's a damn shame too because with proper direction and the resources Disney has, Star Wars should be better than ever. It just seems like the higher-ups/designers are afraid of taking risks or straying too far from established material (unless ofc it's Legends in which case they just threw out decades of established material because why not)

    Gave you a thumbs up for being articulate and thoughtful in your commentary. I was born in 1975 and grew up with the original theatrical releases, owned all the SW toys I could convince my parents to buy for me (and I've even kept a few for nostalgia purposes), devoured many of the SW novels and gladly introduced my son to the SW franchise back in 2018. Shows like SW inspired me to become a writer (the first book of my first trilogy begins releasing in March 2023). As such, I can't look at shows without that critical writer's eye anymore. I appreciate that people have different tastes and I'm actually jealous that you were able to enjoy TLJ, Solo and RoS. I left TLJ thinking it was okay, but as I digested it more, I came to understand better why I didn't like it, why I found Solo boring and why RoS was absolutely forgettable for me. I'm not here to rehash those reasons since there are a bajillion channels out there who've done it. The Mandalorian came along and I felt for the first time that I was truly watching SW again. It wasn't perfect, but I could finally root for the heroes again. I was eager to see more. Unfortunately, when Disney went down the dark path and fired Gina Carano, it killed my hope for the franchise and put a sour taste in my mouth for anything associated with the Disney brand. I hear nothing but good things about Andor, but Disney's misbehavior and mismanagement of its IPs has lost me as a customer. I look at it all now and think, "What a wasted opportunity."

    Edit: TL;DR: Hype gone, big sad.
    It's so sad that having been a Star Wars fan for most of my life, someone who loved the originals, the Prequels (maybe not Attack of the Clones so much, but at least it had the magnificent Christopher Lee,) and even the Force Awakens, to feel such utter apathy nowadays toward a series I once loved. In the days leading up to the release of The Force Awakens, I couldn't sleep, could barely sit still. And when I did manage to sleep, I _dreamed_ about going to see that movie. I strategically planned how I would get tickets, where I would get tickets, and when I would get tickets. I brought out my old lightsabers for fights with my little brother. I binged all of the movies back to back several times. I played through the KOTOR games again (still the best pieces of Star Wars media ever created, fight me.) My friends were excited. My _teachers_ were excited. My mom, my uncles, my aunts, my cousins were excited. Star Wars fever was off the friggin' scale.
    And then the movie came out... and I _loved_ it. I thought the characters were interesting. I dug the fun, frantic energy of the action set pieces and dialogue. And of course the movie was a sight to behold on the big screen. I walked out of that theater feeling like I was on top of the world. And for a good while, most of my acquaintances seemed to feel more or less the same. Even those who didn't care for the movie or found it too derivative of the original trilogy agreed that the vibe of the movie and everything surrounding it reinvigorated their love for Star Wars.
    And when Rogue One hit the next year, even those people were completely on board. Rogue One is an objective masterpiece that blends everything great about Star Wars into a single film, and yet was like nothing the film series had even approached before. I was sick the night I went to go see it theaters, but I kid you not, the minute Darth Vader appeared at the end of that hallway, illuminated by the ominous red glow of his lightsaber, my cold was like "okay, I'm out!" Rogue One, for one last, glorious moment, seemed to unite the entire fanbase and convinced me that Star Wars was back and here to stay.
    But nothing could have prepared me for what happened next.
    My family and I narrowly squeeze into the last few seats available in our local cinema, surrounded by hundreds of warm bodies; I swear I could smell the sweat. Half of our town had turned up for The Last Jedi, it seemed, and the other half were probably packed in just as tightly at our other theater. And so, we watch The Last Jedi.
    And... nothing.
    There is no energy. There is no excitement. There's not even disgust, at least not yet. Everybody just sits there and watches, then leaves.
    I leave too. I lay there in my bed that night thinking, " I just saw the newest Star Wars movie. So why do I feel so... indifferent? No, I must have just missed something. I missed the part where the magic clicks. I just missed that." So I go and watch it again with my friends the next week, thinking, "okay. This time I'll really digest it and the excitement will be there for sure!" So I watch it again. And once again, something is just off. My friends and I head to Sonic afterward and discuss the film, at which point it dawns on me that I just didn't like it. I didn't think it was terrible, I just didn't care for the movie's whole flavor. But I was like, you know what? That's fine. Not everybody has to like every single installment in a series.
    So I get on the internet the next morning and everybody's still kinda trying to figure out how to feel about this movie. Some love it, some hate it, others are just indifferent. Opinions are all over the place.
    Practically the next day, the conversation shifts, and everybody absolutely _hates_ this movie. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this movie had committed some sort of crime. People were acting like it broke into their house in the middle of the night and killed their dog! I didn't like it either, but I was completely shocked by the reception it was garnering.
    And after this, things were just never the same. Solo came out. Got ignored. Episode IX came and went. Most people hated it, some people were fine with it (me). But the general feeling was "whatever." Gone was that ethereal sense of wonder and childlike fancy that enraptured us all at the beginning. And while some have been able to recapture that through stuff like The Mandalorian and Andor, I just haven't. I loved The Clone Wars season 7, but I mean come on, it was The Clone Wars. How was I not supposed to get excited about that? I also liked the Bad Batch, but that's also just more Clone Wars. It's comfy. It's safe. It's a relic of the time before. Before the dark times.
    The Last Jedi wasn't the worst movie ever made, but it was a movie I could care less about. And that is far worse. Because I could care less about everything else now, too.

Everybody who revolted is responsible for the rise of Skywalker and the state of the ip now. The fatigue isn't too much Star Wars, it's consistently bad Star Wars. The average person doesn't resonate with Dave Filoni's headcanon; they resonate with a good story.
    The reason it's become exciting again is because Andor has genuinely good writing and can stand on its own, whereas the other shows rely on MCU-style tie-ins, spectacle, and digital canvasing to maintain seasonal releases.
    Even for people like me who were completely burnt with Disney garbage years ago, a quality show like Andor is enough to get excited again.
    You're not suddenly getting thousands of views because people are burnt out on Star Wars, but because this is the first production since 2016 that appeals to a wider audience.

    It's understandable that you have a lot to say in your first video essay, and it's great that you're passionate about the topic. However, I suggest renaming the video to "Star Wars since Rise of Skywalker" as it focuses more on that specific aspect than the overall hype. While your in-depth analysis of certain series is interesting, it may be better to separate those discussions into their own videos, such as your thoughts on the Mandalorian and fan service. I did notice a shift in your tone when discussing the dropped series, and it's clear that Star Wars holds a special place in your heart. It's important to remember that decisions in the franchise are often financially-driven, and as fans, we can only hope for the best. Overall, keep up the great work and continue to bring a unique perspective to your presentations.

    This cameo mania is WHY Marvel Comics was close to bankruptcy before the MCU took off imho. You wouldn't have strong individual stories for each superhero but rather an endless chain of pointless crossovers. Ms Marvel would have a meandering issue and then at the end, Spider-Man shows up. Big whole page spread of just Spider-Man showing up. And you don't CARE because over in his own comic it is also, meandering plot and then Iron-Man shows up. Substituting good stories for rememberries. Not to mention, whatever plot's left becomes even more difficult to follow because you need to keep buying like 3 different comics to keep up and no non-diehard will do that.

    This was a very well put together essay. There are some points where I disagree with you though.
    Mainly, the fact that it's thought fatigue for the franchise is to blame is not entirely correct in my opinion.
    If you take the early MCU in 2008 with Iron Man and every release since, you could say that we'd get franchise fatigue at some point but people loved it so much that they didn't realize 10 years passed since.
    If the story was convoluted, forced and overall bad like in modern movies and TV, people would have walked out from the MCU too.
    The only way to prevent franchise fatigue is good storytelling.

    I think what makes Andor different is that it has the similar production positivities of The Mandalorian. There is an actual plan to complete the story and allowing different episodes to be present for multiple seasons. From what I see in the pattern for TBOBF and Kenobi, there is nothing in that series that allow people to breathe in what is going on. Instead, there is a rushed story people have to pay attention to. TBOBF was more frustrating to me because they had potential in exploring Boba's reign in Tatooine, but instead by the end of the show, it's like those experiences meant nothing to Boba or Fennec. All Boba did was sit around, demand credits, and get pushed around. That's not respectful bruh

    I don't know why people insist that the force awakens was a good film or even an okay film. It didn't reunite Luke, Han, Leia. The storytelling is x10 worst than the legends version of events. On top of all that they tried to remake a new hope with the "starkiller" base. It was lazy and contrived from day 1 and it will never be anything close to the original 6 movies or any EU content even the bad ones like Palpatine coming back the dead in Dark Empire.

    I got really burned out by Star Wars AND Marvel. Many of the projects felt really mediocre, especially Marvel post-Infinity War. But unlike a lot of comments here, Andor didn't revive me. It didn't live up to the expectations the internet set. I think the characters were great and the story had a lot of potential, but the ORDER of the plotting was really poorly done. I could probably write an essay as to why I think the plotting in Andor weakened the story, but the long short of it is that it's meant to explore the themes of the difficulties in rebellion as well as why a rebellion starts in the first place, which is meant to be shown through Cassian's perspective. But because he goes to Aldhani first, we never actually see his growth towards the rebellion in the way the themes want to present. Instead, it feels like a major back and forth where the ending is Cassian's regret and wish for death instead of a motivation to join the rebellion for good. Basically, all the arcs are fine, they are just out of order. With a bit of plot rehashing, it should have been: Harassed by Guards > Prison > Home with hints of rebellion and the Empire occupying > Luthen and Aldhani > Home again with even more occupation > Escape.

These films are a poor attempt to preserve the culture, which is the point of these films. New producers and writers look like they are actively trying to replace the "old" with something "new" and failing miserably.

They're not some new inexperienced studio that's just too excited about their smash hit series, Disney is probably the best example of scarcity increasing demand in media with the Disney Vault. They're just intentionally bleeding these classic IPs dry until it's just another part of the surface level noise that people make art to get away from.
    The best possible spin of this is that DIsney is just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks, and it's pretty unanimous that smaller stories with new, complex characters are what people get excited about in Star Wars, so hopefully they'll take that and run with it. My fondest memories of the property are the books, comics, and games of the late '90s and early '00s, so maybe we'll get another "extended universe" renaissance. Not holding my breath though!

    I miss those time's when Star wars came back from 2015 up until 2016 and coming up with my own theories,But watching Solo and Rise Of Skywalker killed the love and excitement of Star Wars for me....Even with the Mandalorian and The Clone Wars season 7 the hype for Star Wars is dead for most of the fandom and will probably stay dead,It's like what Kilo Ren said"let the past die kill it if you have to,And Disney certainly did that

    It personally took me four years after the release of Rise of Skywalker to get back into Star Wars. I did watch the first season of Mando, but it was nowhere near enough for me, the burnout was intense. It wasn't until Andor that I finally got back into the star wars groove

    Personally, when Star Wars content brings back pre-existing characters in a new show/movie, the main criteria that I have is "Does it make sense for this character to appear here?" With characters like Bo-Katan, Ahsoka, Boba Fett, and Luke in Mando Season 2 I think it does. They tie into the overarching story/goal of the season which is to find Mandalorians and Jedi which makes sense as to why Mando would seek out/cross paths with them, and it makes sense for Bo-Katan to point Mando in the direction of Ahsoka considering their past. I'd even argue that Cad Bane's appearance in Book of Boba Fett also makes sense due to the history between the two (although it wasn't handled nearly as well as it should have been).

      I can agree with this! Especially bc thinking about it, a lot of the ones I don’t like don’t really make sense to the story, like Luke and Ahsoka being in a Boba Fett series

      Exactly. The fan service in mando season 2 is in my opinion make sense. mando and grogu want to find more mandos and jedis so it make sense for them to came across those characters.
      No way home is another work where the fanservice make perfect sense in my opinion. The original characters returning not just for the sake of fanservice but also to enhance Tom story as spiderman.
      Ashoka and Luke appearing in book of boba fett make no sense and a very blatant and shameless fanservice cause their stories are not tied to boba fett journey in ANY way.

      @@johans3164 Yeah. Book of Boba Fett's Luke and Ahsoka appearances are an interesting case for me, because on one hand it makes sense for Mando to encounter them again since he's specifically seeking out Grogu, but it in no way ties into the main Boba storyline and instead hijacks the show for an episode.

    The Mandalore Season 3 trailer just dropped, everything built in Andor was immedietly dropped to the floor. It's all nostalgia, it's all "WOW LOOK AT THAT THING I KNOW!". The comments on that video are overwhelmingly positive. It gives me really bad feelings that Andor was simply a black sheep and Lucasfilm is going back to what pumps out money rather than what gives good content.

    im a super casual star wars fan. i think the plot trilogy should have centered more around rey and finn, with finn actually being force sensitive just like rey, maybe not as good in the beginning, but power creeps in the later episodes… then they have a kid and that kid becomes 1 of the best force users in the galaxy

    Regarding the cliffhanger claim--The Empire Strikes Back ended with Han in carbonite, Luke just finding out Vader was his father, the rebels almost defeated. My cousin told me how it was to wait three years to find out what happened. It wasn't nearly on the scale of The Force Awakens' ending.

    I dunno, growing up with Star Wars prequel following Star Wars content feels…nature, like breathing. Ever since the Mando miniverse launched it’s somehow stressful just to keep up. Til the point I dropped the series as a whole entirely. It’s unthinkable to my teen-self that I will one day give up on Star Wars, but it did happened. It’s just too much for me right now

    The Palpatine laugh in the Rise of Skywalker trailer... honestly, it was my last straw. I didn't get excited when I heard it, instead I saw through the facade; I saw it for what it was: backpedaling. I saw, in that moment, that Disney was scared, frantic, and trying really hard to course correct because of The Last Jedi. It told me, in that moment, that they did not know what they were doing. And I started crying, because, in my mind and in my heart, for me, that was the day Star Wars died.

    8:30 (Solo would have done better if it weren't released only 5 months after Last Jedi)
    That sounds like making excuses to me. 5 months is a decent chunk of time, and while "Last Jedi" and "Solo" are part of the same overall storyline they're not very closely connected. The only character in both stories is Chewbacca. It's analogous to "Ant Man" coming out 2 months after "Age of Ultron". The difference, if we're looking at this in terms of context relative to the preceding films is "Age of Ultron" was generally well-received, "The Last Jedi" less so.
    I kind of look at this whole Star Wars situation a little differently, personally: I don't think it's good necessarily that a lot of the recent Star Wars productions have felt a bit shoddy or poorly thought out... But I do think it's good that the style of production they're pursuing allows for shows that maybe aren't going to do so well. Because they're (seemingly) not operating under an expectation or demand that *every* new work they produce be a fan-favorite, unmitigated critical and commercial success, they have latitude to try different things. They can experiment, they can throw things at the wall and see what sticks. That results in a lot of forgettable schlock but it is that process that yields them the occasional gem, the "Mandalorian"s, the "Andor"s. The original Star Wars was kind of an experiment, too. A mostly played-straight, morally unambiguous space opera, a new take on Buck Rodgers in a period where cinematic sci-fi was (I think) still largely defined by 2001: A Space Odyssey and later films like Silent Running or Logan's Run.
    There's a lot of potential to tell different stories in the framework of "Star Wars", and in terms of the movies they haven't really explored that potential all that much. The kind of relationship and expectations a lot of us developed around Star Wars, like the expectation that each new iteration was going to be a beloved gem like the way we think about the ones we saw when we were kids... It's not the most realistic or healthy set of expectations. Developing a less-elevated set of expectations is good for us and for the franchise as a whole.

    I'm only an extremely casual Star Wars fan but I literally almost cried at the beginning of this video remembering how the Force Awakens hype felt and how much hope and excitement and potential exuded from that film. It's so unspeakably disappointing that it all went to such a waste.

    While I agree to some extent that excessive content can wear some fans out, I think the main problem with Star Wars is the quality of its content. The sequels, Obi-Wan Kenobi, TBoBF, and even parts of The Bad Batch were extremely lackluster to say the least. I feel like a lot of fans don’t feel like they have a lot of goodwill left. Which is a bummer because I really enjoyed Andor, but I didn’t tune in until several months after its release.

    • @AustinSWE3
      @AustinSWE3  2 роки тому

      I get what you mean for sure, and definitely agree. It is just that for me personally, I feel like their biggest issues have been rushing things out. The sequels just HAD to be 2 years apart, even after Episode IX had major issues, they still stuck to that. They didn't come up with a plan cause they just wanted them out there. TBOBF, another project that was worked on for a year. Same with Kenobi, despite a nearly 6 year pre-production. Andor was the only project recently that took over a year to do post-production, and boom, its great. They just never seem to have the time to perfect everything like that, which is why I feel the quantity is a bigger issue than quality, because one effects the other.
