Is the Avet 50 Narrow castable? Looking for unorthodox methods for heavy duty setups for shark fishing from a pier.

You're better off getting an accurate bv2 1000, holds 1000yrds of 100lb hollowcore, weighs only 29oz so half the weight of an avet 50, it freespools great i use it to chunk for sharks and tuna, u could put in a rail rod and winch fish from the pier, it could handle 500lb + class tuna, so im sure it will handle any pier shark

Avet reel poor quality bad design it is like buying trash with your money

They are great reels and their drags are lifetime. We use them in the west coast and they are amazing.

Original Avets are not that great. G2's and Raptors are very good reels as long as you stay under the manufacturers maximum drag rating...
