"When do I complain about you setting fire to my rooms?" "Our rooms." "The rooms. When do I complain that you experiment on my dog?" "OUR dog-" "THE dog!" Lol Holmes is like sharing is caring!
"Holmes, if I were to go to the country, it would be with my future wife!" "Well, certainly, if we must, but--" "No, not you! Mary and I! You are not--!" "What? Invited? Why would I not be invited to my own brother's country home? Watson, now you're not making any sense." "You're not HUMAN!" So funny... :)
Holmes sleeping on Watson's shoulder + the bickering + The fact that Holmes and Watson share everything ("It's OUR dog!") + The fact the Holmes wants to be involved = Bromance
The point of this bickering: Holmes: marriage is boring! do I not give your life excitement? Watson: if I had anymore excitement in my life i'd be dead Holmes: so you do admit i'm more fun then your wife? watson: ...damn it holmes...
At 1:01 Watson :When do I complain about you setting fire to my rooms ? Sherlock: OUR ROOMS . At 1:05 Watson: When do I complain that you experiment on my dog ? Sherlock : OUR DOG ! (Soviet Anthem starts playing in the background).
The true irony is that calling everything "The rooms" or "The dog" is a heck of a lot more intimate than calling them "Our rooms and dog". One implies that they might just be good friends and roommates, while the other more or less confirms that they're family if not outright spouses.
Someone needs to explain to me why it is that virtually no-one can accept that men are capable of forming normal friendships, not just women. How did a view so patently false and unrealistic come to be so putative?
Mary doesn't have parents in the books, you know... her late-father was in fact a major character in the Sign of Four, one of the major cases in the chronology.
@mystiquesword True, it would be much better, it is very hard to portray Holmes in love and is typically made OOC. Not in adaptions, but in fanfiction. But it still would probably be OOC in an adaption.
I don't blame Watson for being mad at Sherlock for getting him arrested but he is cruel to say he is not human after all he was doing the fighting not Watson
@1kbear1995 Some of the older ones, yeah. Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as Holmes and Watson - the first really famous on-screen pair, especially in America - aren't that close. Well, yeah, sure, they live together and all that, but the bond that you feel in Guy Ritchie's movies, the Granada adaptions with Jeremy Brett and the knew BBC series, kinda, just isn't there, I think. Not in the same way. Which is a shame, I think, 'cause as you say, it's SO in the books! :) Love it! :D
I actually never said that if you hate slash, you are a homophobe. But I understand where you are coming from. I dislike slash and only ship two guys if is canon, but am a huge LGBTQA supporter. Like Holmes and Watson, I see them as more of a bromance/close friendship then actual romance.
What would have made this scene fantastic was have all the bystanders who are extremely close to Sherlock and John and just be like "Hey, bro's are arguing. What a lovely show".
Question. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but are there any adaptions where Holmes and Watson /aren't/ in an implied relationship? Seriously, every adaption I've scene they are so close that they could be married. Even the original canon implies it.
@mystiquesword I know, I was joking more or less. Haha. Knowing Gatiss and Moffat... I really wouldn't be surprised if they did get together. Granted the Conan Doyle Estate says yes to the wishes of the fans. If CDE ever does say yes, then BBC's Sherlock would have them together. No doubt about it.
I just love the fact that Sherlock insists on calling it "their rooms" and "their dog". He is so adorable dependant on Watson!
"I am PHSYCOLOGICALLY DISTURBED!" -Best line.
@Nigel The Ripper because it’s so funny and it’s true. imagine having to babysit a mess like Holmes, Watson is probably traumatized
bro I really felt that
This version of Sherlock is very possessive over his only friendship. It's like he feels, he'd lose his friend if he were to get married.
He is very similar to the House MD interpretation of the character.
@@claudius3359 Holmes does typically have a long overcoat
@@quantumofzentrix2748 Yeah, but like,I was wondering why certain adaptations focus on certain trait, like the clothes.Just a theory tho.
真是殘酷的現實
你倆還是雙宿雙飛吧~。😊❤🎉
"When do I complain about you setting fire to my rooms?"
"Our rooms."
"The rooms. When do I complain that you experiment on my dog?"
"OUR dog-"
"THE dog!"
Lol Holmes is like sharing is caring!
"Holmes, if I were to go to the country, it would be with my future wife!"
"Well, certainly, if we must, but--"
"No, not you! Mary and I! You are not--!"
"What? Invited? Why would I not be invited to my own brother's country home? Watson, now you're not making any sense."
"You're not HUMAN!"
So funny... :)
I like the "You're not HUMAN!" part, sounds like continuation of "You're an automaton,Holmes!"
Definitely my favorite moment between Watson and Holmes in the movie, I love their friendship lol they feel like real brothers
John: “Holmes, if I were to go to the country it would be with my future wife.”
Sherlock: “Well, listen, if we must...” 😂
Yeah that is a good line
YOU'RE NOT HUMAN!!!!
"Well certainly if we must"
"When do I complain about you stealing my clothes?"
"Uh, we have a barter system."
Love them :P
"I'm not sensitive," Watson says sensitively.
"You're not HUMAN!"
My favourite watson quote :)
"YoU MAcHinE"
I love that Watson was angry at Sherlock but still let him sleep on his shoulder
"you want ot sabotage my relationship with Mary" the look on his face says "damn he figured out my plan!"
Holmes sleeping on Watson's shoulder + the bickering + The fact that Holmes and Watson share everything ("It's OUR dog!") + The fact the Holmes wants to be involved = Bromance
Holmes is the "Steve" in Watson's and Mary's relationship 🤣
Oh my goodness yes
Brothers...not in blood, but in bond.
They bicker like a couple that's been married for years :')
Does happen when you’re close with someone. Even with male on male or female on female friendships.
Watson : You're not human!!
Also Watson : The wisest man whom I have ever known.
"um, we have a barter system..."
"Watson, now you're not making any sense"
"YOU'RE NOT HUMAN."
'Why would i not be invited to my own brother's country home, Watson now you're not making any sense', I love the way RDJ delivers that line, so good!
I totally agree on this one that delivery was stellar.
My favorite line is when Watson is like, “I don’t think you do”. Idk why that was my favorite one in this scene.
Me neither, but also my favorite line. I use it too often when people say they understand.
The point of this bickering:
Holmes: marriage is boring! do I not give your life excitement?
Watson: if I had anymore excitement in my life i'd be dead
Holmes: so you do admit i'm more fun then your wife?
watson: ...damn it holmes...
'Would you like to hear my conclusion?'
'Okay'
'I am PSYCHOLOGICALLY DISTURBED!'
i love sherlock's little yawn : "mreh" :D
"I am physiologically disturbed" me on the daily😂
".....I don't think you do." LOL xD love that look he gives.
I love this clip so much. 0:45 when Watson says "I'm not complaining" kills me lol. They're awesome
"YOUR NOT HUMAN!"
XD Favorite line.....ever
Regardless of the type of relationship they have, these two care a great deal about each other.
All I can say is Watson's gorgeous when is overtired ♥
At 1:01
Watson :When do I complain about you setting fire to my rooms ?
Sherlock: OUR ROOMS .
At 1:05
Watson: When do I complain that you experiment on my dog ?
Sherlock : OUR DOG !
(Soviet Anthem starts playing in the background).
Jude Law is definitely my favorite Watson
"Why wouldn't I be invited to my own brother's country home, Watson, now your not making any sense!"
"Your not HUMAN!"
Awesome.
"Why would i not be invited to my own brother's country home? Watson now youre not making any sense."
"YOURE NOT HUMAN!"
"You're not HUMAN!" ..... xD
Made me crack up hahaha
Fair enough actually, I hadn't considered it in that way. Thank you for bringing that viewpoint to light.
The true irony is that calling everything "The rooms" or "The dog" is a heck of a lot more intimate than calling them "Our rooms and dog".
One implies that they might just be good friends and roommates, while the other more or less confirms that they're family if not outright spouses.
fantastic script.
My favourite scene in the movie XD LOVE it
its "our" everything
Fun part is in the books Holmes respected Marie Morsten as she was an intelligent woman and his client
Yeah,I loved his opinion on her at the end of The Sign of the Four
The movie did Irene better. The BBC show did Mary better.
But both sets of Holmes & Watson are perfect for the time periods they're in.
"Uh, we have a barter system."
1:40 is the best part ever
“You’re never gonna get it right…
You’re never gonna get it…
You’re never gonna get it right…
You’re never gonna get it…”
We learn so much about their relationship in this scene... bartering with clothes? XD
Oh, this is SO my favorite scene as well! :D
I seriously can't wait to see more of this in the second movie! :D
"I don't think you do..." ;)
Truer words were never spoken! XD
We’ll throw a lamb on the spit 😂👏
There's another word for "psychologically disturbed", Watson...it's called love :)
you know what! I find it so cute that Watson let Holmes sleep on him =3
Someone needs to explain to me why it is that virtually no-one can accept that men are capable of forming normal friendships, not just women. How did a view so patently false and unrealistic come to be so putative?
Some people are so obsessed with shipping, they do it with every person/character imaginable. It's annoying.
Because this is clearly written for teasing who want to be tease... thats why, we can all admit it
so ironman and dumbledore walk in to a prison ...
I understand waston anger because shelock is trying to take possession of everything waton posses
Reminds me so much of House and Wilson.
''IT'S OUR DOG! D
Best way to complain is to tell what you DON'T complain about.
I don't usually slash stuff.. but come on.... this chemistry between them is too powerful!
"YOU'RE NOT HUMAN!" Watson said, calmly
I love these two, but my all time favourite still remains Dr. House and Dr. Wilson's relationship :)
OUR dog.
Am I the only one who is totally captivated by Jude's accent? :P
I think this is the first time I realize that Holmes mentioned his brother Mycroft. And I've seen this movie over 3 times. Anyone else?
I think you should change the title into "just a married couple being a married couple
Awww, Watson let Holmes sleep on his shoulder. Must...contain... inner fangirl. JOHNLOCK forever! ^.^
I am psychologically disturbed
😂😂😂😂😂😂
जो भी sherlock Holmes के साथ रहेगा। जल्दी पागल हो जाएगा।
GLADSTONE IS OUR DOG.
"I am psychosologicly disturbed" ;D
If there's one actor who knows how to play people lacking an understanding of boundaries, it's Robert Downey, Jr.
ooo daddy and daddy are fighting.
What you call bickering I call flirting ;D
No but to me, the love Holmes has for Irene is different from the love he has for Watson IMHO
@AlannahClaire It's not a coincidence. That show is based on the Sherlock Holmes series and characters.
You're not alone :D
Mary doesn't have parents in the books, you know... her late-father was in fact a major character in the Sign of Four, one of the major cases in the chronology.
uhh we have a bartering system... hahahaha
its OUR dog

@Jackw00pw00p2 It has been confirmed: Stephen Fry will be Mycroft Holmes. A damn good casting
@ColonelJadeCurtiss lol, glad to know someone sympathizes with him too. (Also, your username is pure win~)
@TheMonotonousBastard Seriously? My God, he's PERFECT for that role.
I don't blame Watson for being mad at Sherlock for getting him arrested but he is cruel to say he is not human after all he was doing the fighting not Watson
@ijwi I think it might have been a tissue. They wouldn't just have Sherlock randomly snort coke for no reason in the middle of the movie
@SophieJaneDowney Yeah after hearing it again I heard "Barter System" XD
@1kbear1995 Some of the older ones, yeah. Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as Holmes and Watson - the first really famous on-screen pair, especially in America - aren't that close. Holmes and Watson.
There so cute when there mad XD

Don't the rooms technically belong to Mrs.Hudson?
Did you forget about Irene?
What would have made this scene fantastic was have all the bystanders who are extremely close to Sherlock and John and just be like "Hey, bro's are arguing. What a lovely show".
@Blueglassgirl123 Same! I haven't read many of the books, so I didn't even realize he had a brother until I saw the second movie.
@MrsDelle Ok, one out of... How many? XD
Question. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but are there any adaptions where Holmes and Watson /aren't/ in an implied relationship? Seriously, every adaption I've scene they are so close that they could be married. Even the original canon implies it.

@Suzumii indeed!
@QuothTheRaven24 Definitely!
@EmpressJudge13 teehee! I completely agree with this statement! ^___^
What is the movie name???
Sherlock Holmes
They are always acting like 5-year-old brothers!
@Zorg96TR It's ok, Watson. so is holmes.
@sjch1994 such a roommate thing to say, lol
