Fast & Easy to make SLES Liquid Detergent Base
This video will show you how to make SLES liquid detergent base. The fast and easy method is mixing the stirred SLES with half of salt first, then followed by the liquid. The other half of salt will be added at the last step to make the mixture completely combined well. It will generate a little bit of big bubbles foam during processing by this method, so I can pour the SLES liquid detergent base directly into the container without waiting for bubbles gone. Just let it be in the container, the texture will change from cloudy to clear liquid. How long? It depends on your container. Mine 500 ml bottle has become clear liquid within 20 hours, but it takes around 30 hours for big recycle water bottle to completely change to clear liquid.
I don't put preservative to protect microbial growth in this formula. I make small batch at a time to make sure for 1-month using.
Ingredients for 1.5 kg of SLES Liquid Detergent Base
150 g SLES 70% ( Texapon N70 )
105 g Salt ( I use normal cooking salt without iodine )
1,245 g Tap water ( Let chlorine evaporate at least 24 hours )
This formula is a basic SLES liquid detergent base that requires only one chemical, SLES 70%, the other two ingredients are salt and water.
About Salt & Water : If you have pure salt and water, that's great to use it. In my opinion, the cooking salt without iodine and tap water ( just let chlorine evaporate ) will do and effective enough for homemade household products.
Although this SLES liquid detergent base is simple & basic, but it still perform a simple task really good and provide more bubbles and cleaning power at the same time. This SLES base is ready to use as household products like laundry detergent and dishwashing liquid, or you can create you own laundry detergent and dishwashing liquid by simply mixing it with your favourite fragrance oils or essential oils. If you think it's too thick, you can dilute it with water.
This formula of SLES base is not fixed. It's just guideline to make SLES liquid detergent base at home in the easy way. If you try this base and find out it's not right or suitable for you, you can adjust any percentage of ingredients to suit your preference.
