  • This is a video of cabin 3250 on RCCL's Voyager of the Seas from the 6/26/2023 sailing out of Galveston. This was a girls' cruise, so we had 3 of us in the cabin. The cabin can fit 4 total. The ladder just got in the way, so we pushed the sofa over to the edge of the bed, and my daughter used that to get up and down, instead. The cabin was mostly comfortable and quiet, but we had to call for A/C help, as the room got pretty warm. It improved, but we still thought the room was too warm for our liking. We like being so close to the water and slept with our curtains open each night to catch the sunrise each morning. Cabin 3250 is an ocean view room in the front of the ship, so you have to go up to deck 4 and through the casino then back down to access the dining room on deck 3. The casino was horribly crowded and smoky. What's crazy is that I noticed only 3-4 smokers at any given time, but the room just becomes filled with disgusting smoke. This is likely my least favorite casino of all cruise ships we've been on because of the congested layout. Embarkation and debarkation was stress free.
Mistakenly, we brought three bottles of wine aboard thinking we were allowed 1 bottle per person. One of our bottles was confiscated since we exceeded the 2 bottles per cabin allowed (they were nice about it) for me to pick up after the cruise at the "contraband" table (LOL). However, just after we checked into our cabin, a crew member brought the bottle back to us to enjoy during our cruise. UPDATE: I verified that we WERE allowed to bring 3 bottles via the RCCL website (1 per passenger).
Embarkation was delayed an hour for our sailing due to a medical evacuation. We arrived at 9:00AM and got in line for our 10:30 check-in time. They were not allowing anyone into the line unless they had the first 10:30 check-in time (probably about 12 people in front of us already). They started allowing the Key and Suite guests in the terminal right at 11 AM and we were right behind them by 11:05, or so. The check-in process was super fast, and we were on the ship by 11:30 AM. We went straight to our safety briefing station to complete the muster drill requirement and then headed to lunch in the Windjammer. We had to wait about 15 minutes since they did not start serving lunch until 11:45. (tip: go directly to the back since they have the same food options back there and it is much less crowded on embarkation day. Besides, we like to sit and look out over the water while we eat.) After lunch, we went to the library and worked on a puzzle while we waited for our cabin to be ready, which was around 1:00 PM through an overhead announcement. The food on this cruise was great, bar service was pretty good and dining service (Romielyn will always be my favorite wait staff member on the Voyager) was fabulous! Our cabin steward, Dwi, provided a bucket of ice for us each day and a third set of towels, on request. He was friendly and accommodating.
Costa Maya was just a half day visit. We docked at noon and had lunch and drinks in the port area. My shrimp quesadillas were $25 and my yard of mango daiquiri was $18 (the yard glass is equal to 3 drinks). It was pretty hot that day, so we regretted not wearing our bathing suits so we could take a dip in the pool! There is an aviary to explore, but they no longer provide bird seed to feed the birds :-( We had to be back on the ship by 6:30 but had our fill of the port area by 4 PM. The vendors in Costa Maya are very aggressive (especially the ones wanting to give you packets of lotion/cream), but I was able to purchase an awesome large felt sombrero for $25.
Cozumel was a fabulous stop. The weather was perfect and I love that the pier walk is so short compared to the RCCL Costa Maya pier & any of Carnival's piers. We walked to Del Mar Latino Beach Club and spent the day there ($39 pp all inclusive food/drinks; best to make prior reservations). The club only allows 30 people total, but I'd say there was only about 20 there that day. Service was great, and we enjoyed snorkeling (bring your own gear) and floating in the water on our sling chairs that hook up to pool noodles which I scored at Dollar Tree for $1.25 each and are much better than dragging along an inflatable (the noodles are available at the club). We purchased Mexican blankets for $8 & stuffed marine animals for $10 and $12.
A big disappointment was the entertainment. The piano players were just okay. There was one featured comedian that was sub par and the ship did did not offer a full production until night 4 (we were told it was their opening night as a cast, and we could tell), which was a Broadway tunes show that was just mediocre. The hit of the entertainment was the ice show titled The Odyssey. I'm always impressed when skaters can perform great stunts on such a small rink. Overall, we had a fabulous trip.

We have our May 2024 transatlantic on this ship! Ocean view on deck 2. Looks a lot like the Liberty of the seas….

How did they let you book this room for 4 when there was only 3 in your party? Was this a guaranteed room? Thanks!

It was not a guaranteed cabin. It's common to book a cabin that can accommodate more than are actually cruising in that cabin. Hubs and I have been in cabins that had berths and could actually accommodate 4 total when it was just the two of us more than a few times. In this case, I told the agent I had three total cruising and this was the cabin offered. Happy cruising to you and yours! 🛳
