few things i wanna say: happy with Leo placement tbh, it's an improvement from last year, i don't think he'll ever be the monster he used to be but i believe he can still become the number 1 again if he tries his best. Was expecting Light a little lower but i'm glad to see him this high, he's my favourite player and i'll always hope for him becoming the best one day. Very happy for Sparg0 finally being #1, always so close but it's finally a reality, well deserved.

When he leaves home and plays the rest of the best in the world the results are clear and this ranking accurately reflects that. Miya is cracked, but Spargo is the best player.

Being able to get #1 with a high tier character, is a great example of ultimate’s balance. (There still needs to be another update tho) this likely being the last lumirank for ult is a great showcase of what the meta looks like and what can work. It’s good to see spargo, a known grinder get it w/ someone not top tier. We also see an emphasis on insane advantage state characters so Luigi isn’t exactly surprising. Ryu (Asimo) making it up here is great too. You can really find success with a majority of the cast, and that’s amazing.
Here is an interesting statistic: The only characters not represented within the top 150 as either a main or secondary are: Bowser, Link, Ganondorf, King Dedede, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Ike, Lucas, and Mii Swordfighter If the honorable mentions are excluded, then the list will include: Sheik (Rox), Incineroar (LittN!), and Pit (zackray) If secondaries are excluded, then the list will include: Meta Knight (MkLeo & ΩRugal), Marth (Shinymark), Pit (Zomba), Belmonts (Tsumusuto), Sephiroth (BeastModePaul & Reno), Mii Brawler (drybie), and Mii Gunner (Tsumusuto)
Something I noticed after publishing this post, is that Tsumusuto (ranked 141st) is singlehandedly responsible for 3 whole characters (Dr. Mario, Belmont, Mii Gunner) not being in the first category. And for that, I must salute that man.
I definitively underrated Shuton's season, I almost started to think he would miss top 10 in favor of Doramigi. I also overrated Tweek's season. At the same time, the #11 player and the #6 player are separated by less than 3 points, so it was definitively a hard call to make. I'm happy I predicted the top 6 perfectly. I KNEW Light would be above Sonix, I called it as soon as Coinbox IRL was over. Besides that, I'm surprised the gap between Light and Acola was so big, I thought it would be a little closer.

Sonix is my favorite player and I agree he is the better player, but I respect lumirank for favoring someone who went to so much and did so well. better season/later half of the year*. I think everyone forgot that Tweek had a relatively tame start of the season (3 9ths and a 7th). He did pick it up a bit at cirque and LMM, getting wins on Sonix and Miya and winning LMM, but that’s not enough to make up for the lack of attendance and results against his other competitors (mainly Asimo/Leo/Shuton)
I love that Acola’s music is World’s End Valentine, as his favourite game in previous ranking seasons has been Omori (World’s End Valentine is a boss battle song from Omori).
I feel like every season we get 1 or 2 new Japanese players for top 10 In 2023 we got yoshidora Last season we got tamapdaifuku and hurt Now we got asimo and raru Idk about 2022 and before tho

Feel like the issue is that he didnt have a good start to the season and in the tourney he won his notable win was just sonix. Comparatively asimo won a major over acola whon is ranked higher than sonix and leo had attended many more majors and got top 8 consistently

No way are your telling me that leo had a better year than tweek. Idk what method they used of ranking players, but it missed something.
better season/later half of the year*. I think everyone forgot that Tweek had a relatively tame start of the season (3 9ths and a 7th). He did pick it up a bit at cirque and LMM, getting wins on Sonix and Miya and winning LMM, but that’s not enough to make up for the lack of attendance and results against his other competitors (mainly Asimo/Leo/Shuton)

I love that Acola’s music is World’s End Valentine, as his favourite game in previous ranking seasons has been Omori (World’s End Valentine is a boss battle song from Omori).
I feel like every season we get 1 or 2 new Japanese players for top 10

Every player in the top 10 was deserving, BUT I feel like my guy tweek got shafted in the placement. I think most people would say he’s better than 10th. I don’t think that’s even controversial. But regardless, great job everyone in the top 10 and especially spargoat. Well deserved 1st place
Feel like the issue is that he didnt have a good start to the season and in the tourney he won his notable win was just sonix. Comparatively asimo won a major over acola whon is ranked higher than sonix and leo had attended many more majors and got top 8 consistently
