Kindly do a video compilation of Scholes short passing game only. Too many Xavi n Barca fans think he was a long ball specialist (like English plodders stereotype) and nothing else.
@CHRISDABAHIA Maradona was hated by most of us in England, always remembered for his handball in 1986 World Cup. I was 12 at the time, will never forget it. I don’t class him as the best especially due to this.
Paul Scholes, an athlete. No physical advantages, no speed pace or whatsoever, no strength or any other athletic talents. BUT. Sheer work ethic, endurance, skill, TIMING and intelligence. Paul Scholes is my hero of all times in football.
@@aumpatel6571 They are both different players. Scholesy was the brain of Manchester United. I don't care about the comparisons between players, Paul Scholes was the diamond of the team, the heart beat. I've been sad seeing players reach the end of their careers, but when Scholes hung his boots up I was literally devastated that I wouldn't get to see him play anymore, genuinely heart broken. A true legend of MUFC and an absolute pleasure to have the fortune of watching him play.
I grew up playing and watching these guys, and definitely scholes was so underrated, he was incredible and humble player,, like what we see with Modrić
Wow! What a video. Even as an Arsenal fan I hugely admired Scholes. It is worth noting, that when you sit back and think about the players that both those clubs produced throughout that 10 year period was utterly phenomenal.
Iam just watching this video and crying at the same time. I miss such kind of gift of a player @ United. What a fantastic player. Scholes is simply an Icon. I miss the good old days @ Man United.
The goal against Barca was absolutely sublime. He scored so many incredible goals but this one for me was his best, the finish, the occasion and the eventual champions league as a result of it. Just brilliant.
whoever uploaded this video wake up every morning with the knowledge that this is the ultimate scholesy tribute well done and more importantly THANK YOU !!!!!! Mon United !!!!!
@ahpis77 Sir Alex didn’t call Scholes back from retirement. As he’d not played for 8 months & he missed playing, he spoke to Sir Alex. This was even to play elsewhere if Utd didn’t want him. Within 15 minutes Sir Alex was on the phone to David Gill to get Scholes a new contract. Sure they’d have happily taken him back regardless but there were numerous injured players also.
Simply the best midfielder this country has ever had.He had everything but football is about awareness that no coaching will ever give you,he had that in abundance, better than Gascoigne. He is a genius footballer top 3 ever in the world.cheers Paul
Top 3 footballer ever? Far from it! He's not even top 20. He's not in the same bracket as Cruyff, Maradona, CR7, R9, Pele, Romario, Zidane, Zico, Platini, Beckenbauer, Mbappe etc
That is a damn nice video. Good job! As for Scholes, up there with anyone. Great player. And as with the spirit of Man United midfielders, not afraid of putting the foot in.
Major hommage documentary. What a genius on the pitch. Scholes reminded us why FIFA football is just labelled "the beautiful game". Bravo, champion....
Having grown up in Manchester seeing so many players come through Man U I dont care about statistic or what they did in the papers but I will say this and I will argue this to my dying day... Paul Scholes is the best Attacking midfeilder I have ever seen in 51 years of my life. I understand the likes of Lampard and Gerrard but his ability to one touch pass and his field of vision nobody not one person in the last 30 years had. Yes I am a Man Utd supporter, have done since I was born but you cannot tell me he was not a complete legend.
Unquestionably the single greatest English midfielder of all time. For me an absolute nailed on in the mix for top 20 midfielders of all time and top 100 players. Apart from the top 2/3 positions on each list the rest are down to preference really. A true All Time Great and if there was such a thing a certified Hall of Famer. As a Culer I was almost as sad to see Paul hang up his boots as I was when Xavi did, or I will be when Don Andres does the same.
People today simply want 'the best' without knowing what 'the best' looks like! Even videos like this don't really do justice to his actual-self! He saw lines where there was no line, he saw the pass where nothing existed. He saw the move where nothing existed a moment ago. He fooled them going forward, he fooled them again by dragging them out of their positions, altering the tempo, changing the flanks - dictating the game entirely. He did things that a brain capable of tracking exactly 20 moving dots (leaving 2 Goalie and the referee out of this!) in a rectangular box at any given time - could do, only him! He knew how to create out of thin air. He was the true magician of the game.
I remember watching him when I was young and only caring about those stunning goals he scored. I don't think I realised how good he was at the time and if I hadn't seen what that Barcelona team could do playing Paul Scholes football I don't think I would have ever appreciated quite how good he was.
The biggest compliment I can pay him is that when you think about who would be the first pick for any midfield anywhere in the world, he would be considered alongside Keane and Robson. Thanks for the years of pleasure Paul Scholes 👍
Most underrated player ever even tho he is rated so highly still not credit deserves one of the greatest most natural footballers ever to play the game
Paul Scholes may not have been the most glamorous of players but he was the quintessential players’ player. When football legends like Alex Ferguson, Zidane, Guardiola, Xavi, Iniesta, Henry, Messi, Bobby Charlton, George Best, Vieira, Roy Keane, Fabregas, Lippi, Pele, CR7, Shearer, Pirlo, Figo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo9, Schmeichel, Rooney, Edgar Davids etc. sing your praises, you know you are something special. The greatest Man United and English midfielder of all time.
He can still do it in today’s standard with his eyes closed. That’s how bad we are at the moment. Sad but true. If Barca shows their academy players Paul Scholes mastery in midfield, why can’t our united teams? They could learn a thing or two on how to do it. We are laughable and in dire need of inspiration. A PScholes academy within united..how’s that.
What you can’t see in these videos of Paul scholes is how he would dictate the whole game the tempo of the game, everything would go through him, he was the engine for United revving us up unreal and far better than these videos can show, you need to go and watch 10 full games of him to see how good he was
What is most amazing about Scholesey, was that he couldn’t make a tackle to save his life, which for a midfielder is kinda important, however he’s still one of the best ever
"Who would you like to have in your team?" Pep without hesitation "Paul Scholes I would love to have him in this team." 50 years old and Scholes is one of the best one of the finest players I've ever seen. Xavi and iniesta yearned to be as good as him.
