My first competition Hayes RIA was so insane I bought a second. Then tried to buy other 2011’s and am constantly disappointed. Even bought several of those other big name companies. Hayes ruined me! Keep wondering how much better a Cobra could possibly be. Only thing I could wish for is a squared off trigger guard so my other 2011 holsters fit. So my Rocks take specific holsters. That’s it. Keep Rocking Hayes!
Wow, freaking awesome. Hope you're not too busy. My 10mm deserves some of your attention. 😃 Almost within walking distance. Thanks for sharing your videos
I run the mec-gar p18 38 super mags with the old Dawson +5 basepads and grams 11 coil spring/follower. 23+1 start with 21 reloadable. I did have to do the feed lip mods like on the 22tcm mags. But they run great. Pistol is old version too with ramped frame.
I dont see the competition upgrade for the Rock Island on your website. What is the price of this upgrade? Does include the Copper looking parts including the barrel?
I just recently got my gun back from hayes. It is a model/caliber that they dont work on anymore, but I love that gun and all that they have done to it.
I got the Jones for a 10mm 1911 after the TRP Operator came out with that full length dust cover years and years ago now. I approached a lot of custom builders, put down a few deposits, and not a one ever got produced. I wouldn't hesitate to build my own now, but we've got a lot more options besides customs or G20s these days. I'd still love to pick one of these RI versions up one of these days, but you can't ever find the dang things! Solid Unobtanium frame.
So should we buying a RIA and get a HC done or just buy a HC 2011? This is a serious question by the way because I have already considered the first option.
@@HayesCustomGuns Yeah the problem is through your website info, the RIA 9mm pro match can be from $800 to $1000 alone plus the RIA skus on your website is $2500. That's about a $3200 to $3500 gun... So why go that route when you can just simply buy a Staccato with that price already.
This one is the dream for me... Steal frame tank only would like a thread barrel for it for comp only as range toy... Im a Glock guy but i imagine this would be a one of the softest 9mm out there.... I always liked the para p18 as a kid when I would look through gun magazines... so this is definitely me...
We limit our services to the two models mentioned in the video. Different brands of 1911 require different modifications. Some are good candidates for upgrading, and others are not.
I’m sure this is something that you aren’t interested in but I am trying to do a full build on my 92x performance and my 92xi. I want to have them completely hand fit and I want them DLC armorlube with all internals coated. I’m only about an hour from your shop so I’m wanting to work with someone local and want to support Texas based businesses. Plus I don’t want to ship off the pistols if it can be avoided. Please tell me that you can help, or please recommend someone that I can trust to build competition ready versions of both models and convert the 92X performance into SAO like the 92xi.
Just looked at a Tac Ultra vs Commander, 1st 1911 shopping, albeit 45ACP. Besides obvious finish, size and I know triggers are there "stay away from" issues with the RIA commander, or what issues should I know about?....., great video..ty
4:47 That's actually my Hayes that i just got back from you guys. The quality is amazing and thank you for doing the extra items on it as well.

Hayes does a awesome job making these pistols competition ready. Mine is extremely reliable. Would recommend if you want a competition edge.

Great stuff. I got the 10mm Tac Ultra a few years ago. I'd love to get the Hayes upgrades on it.
Can he port it ?

Hayes: i dont recommend spending more then 2000 Also Hayes: Base price for upgraded gun 1000 for the gun 1100 for upgrades.
“About $2,000”. So $2,100 is right in line with what we said.
Great video. I know y’all sell a holster for the RI FS Tac, but do y’all have a recommendation for a level 2 holster to fit it?
We are working on some new holsters now. Hopefully we will have a great RIA option soon.
@HayesCustomGuns I have a RIA government 45 and love the classic you guys do will be sending in very soon
Will y'all pin the grip safety if asked?

We can’t discuss too many details here. Contact us through our website or email us at info@ hayescustomguns.com for more info.

having a hard time finding a threaded barrel to fit this gun, I am new to the 1911s so any help would would be awesome.
Ive read the extractor is the 1st part to change
I bought wilson combat parts to replace the mim parts
Need to port & cerakote

We don’t have a ton of experience with the smaller RIA pistols. But we have not seen or heard of any red flags with any particular model.
Do you have any available in 10mm double stack? I'm looking to buy one soon
I looked on the website and it said yall dont do this upgrade anymore
Do you have shooting videos of the pro
Can you do the competition style on Rock Island armory threaded barrel 10mm double stack?
Only 9mm at this time.
You mentioned the Para , what does Hayes recommend for the Para USA 18-9 Pro comp?
We do not work on Para.
Have you worked on a Bul Armory 2011 yet?
We worked on a few years ago. Decent guns.
Is the circumference of the 9mm tac ultra grip any smaller than the 10mm ?
I believe it is the same size.
I can purchase one of these directly from you or do I get pro match then send it to you for the improvements?
Either way works. Check out our RIA webpage and you will see that as an option.
Mine keeps fde, with 3 different mags, new extractor… any solutions?
Did you make sure the extractor has proper tension? Atlas has a solid video on extractor tuning.
@@bentastic27 got the right amount of bend, runs flawless now, thanks for the heads up!
Hayes RIA sweet
Is that 2000 bucks of custom work on top of the 1000 dollar cost of the fs hc?
Nice way to polish a turd! They look great. How do you port your barrels?
All my mec- gar 15 round mags fit my fs hc an my custom para p14 no problemos
No just work harder and buy the MBX mags 😎 Better still just buy a Hayes Custom 2011 they are awesome
