Scammers typically target the elderly and attempt to steal money by several means.
1. Your Bank Saving or Checking accounts
2. Investment accounts or 401k retirement funds
3. Credit and Debit cards
4. Purchasing Gift cards
5. Cash withdrawls
6. Cryptocurrency
Scammers are ruthless criminals that have no problem stealing every last dime from their victims bank accounts. Please protect yourself as well as family members who might not be familiar with these type of scams.

No. The boomer won't learn anything from that. They need to feel the consequence.
You have to start calling their parents! Nothing is gonna make them squeal, cry, and shout but that.
Public humiliation is key to punishing scammers not just exposing them but informing family.
Exactly! The scammers can't bribe their way out of being family, and their parents will (hopefully) give them a good slapping around for bringing shame upon the family.
Put their faces on the web and publicise it so indian people can easily figure out who these people are.
The only true humiliation will be if their families are informed. They don't care if anonymous people outside their families know.

Not just them. I’ve had to inform my mom several times, she gets it now. But it took a while.
Not just elderly, I’ve been almost caught when in my forties, everyone needs to beware as scammers are very crafty

If you catch university students scamming, you should upload their academic files to Turn-It-In and change the names on the paper. That way if their professor runs a plagiarism check, it’ll get flagged at 100% and they’ll get kicked out of university.
most indian universities don't use plagiarism check softwares, it'll be of no use. its better to name and shame them to their families and their university, that works way better in our culture

That assumes the student hasn’t turned in that paper yet. If they have, then the professor won’t do a check because they already did it.
These scammers are sick. Pure evil. Just watching the elderly woman rattled and confused makes me sick to my stomach.
It takes a special kind of evil to do that to an elderly person.
I think the reason opening the web cam bothers you so much is the fact that once they do open the web cam they are actively showing that they want to see their victim, ie it’s not something they are ashamed of, they are actually enjoying the acts they are committing
The scammers might also want to confirm that they're not talking with a scambaiter using a voice changer.

Don't have a webcam on my desktop. The laptop has one, but it's covered up.
@@TestGearJunkie. My desktop webcam sits on top of my monitor, angled maximally upwards when not in use. All that one could see through it then is the ceiling light.
My desktop webcam remains unplugged when not in use. Airgaps are the surest way to prevent spying, because while the video might be no good, they can still pick up audio which is omnidirectional.

My bank has a check the call option. So if a bank person calls you you can check if you are really on line with the right people. Thats a first step in the right direction

I'm so glad you guys helped that old lady out. My mom is about to turn 70 and I could see her falling for something like that if I hadn't drilled it into her head just how prevalent these phone scams are.

Nice way to show how much you really are multi-tasking during the scambaits. Not only do we see how you watch out & listen for victims being scammed while you are on your own scambaiting calls, but can also afterwards call those scammers and do whatever is necessary to track the scammers location & activities. Now multiply that by the number of others you are monitoring at the same time, and it is staggering. Well done Pierogi!
This makes sense how the scammer spent the victims money on going to every expense university and college attending computers and tech classes over there. And expenses apartments too.

I don't answer calls from numbers that aren't in my contact list. My ringtone is also set to silent for general use. If it's a legit call they can leave a message.
The other problem is now emails/texts showing up with "issues." If they're suggesting a problem with an account I don't click on their links. I go back to my bank app, or store account to see if there is any activity - and there never is. So those emails or texts get blocked.
Yes! I just wrote the same thing! I’ve received a few “fishy” emails and I just delete!!!
I have fun by scamming the scammers with elaborate details annd wasting their time. I have hours of hilarious recordings to enjoy when I need a happy minute.
Please hang on a minute while I log into my bank account and access my life's savings,set the phone down and go about your day for an hour or two until they hang up..

I read in a Philly newspaper that a scammer posing as Phillies player Trey Turner stole $70,000 from a women. HOW AWEFUL!

I remember getting a scammer on a call once and they started rabbiting on about windows, so I explained that I had just had mines cleaned. I just kept them on the line with them getting angrier by the second. When the mask slips, they reveal their true selves and it’s just sport to help them on their way to their first pulmonary embolism. They have zero sympathy for their victims so, for them, I have zero for them. You’re doing good work. Keep doing what you’re doing.

We need an initiative:
Hire Billboards in the scammer's surrounding and place a big picture of them including their address and the text:
"I steal from helpless elderly people"
Everything else is just trying to fight the Hydra. Every time you shut down one scammer, two new scammers pop up and refine their strategy over time.
Nevertheless I am really glad that there are people like Pierogi to keep these filthy scumbags on their toes!

With that poor Uber lady who was recently murdered picking up a parcel via the app, unknowingly a part of a scam, the lines between victim and perpetrator become blurred.
Some of these scammers use only other scammers, but others are using legit services, operating in plain site.

Don't get scammed, but also important, if at all possible don't scam. I used to think that these scammers were just out to be greedy and make a quick buck, but some are victims themselves of human trafficking. I like how SP reaches out to some scammers and sees if he can help them out as well. I have seen some videos where a scammer seems to want out and might at the last minute back out. I get it that they are scared, but I also like to think that there are people that are on the inside that SP may work with to try to make everyone's life better. I like to think that they are more valuable to have their identities kept private, but also, SP ain't about to shine the floodlights on someone who is innocent.
Keep up the awesome work, SP. Love your videos and I love what you do, even if you don't show everything. Knowing why makes it all the better that you don't show it.
