They had my neighbor, an old lady in her 80’s call a cab company to take her to the bank to take out $80,000 in cash, mail half to them. The next day when she was supposed to send out the next $40k, an attentive UPS employee suspected it and called the police. Even when the police explained everything to her, she still wanted to send the money because she was so scared of what was going to happen to her. It’s so sad to see these people lose everything.

@@Kat.Evangeline14 Unfortunately that isn't always an option. Some people receive calls from unknown numbers for work, and they have to answer it. Like people who work in real estate or have their own business like artists and contractors... not taking the call could mean losing money. Then you have some people who work for smaller company's that cannot afford to get each person a work phone, and they have to use their personal phones. While it is nice to say that the answer is simple, just don't answer it, that isn't realistic for many people. Granted if a call is legitimate, you would HOPE they leave a voicemail, but plenty of people do not and then complain that you never answered the phone. I have been there.

I’ve had a lot of trauma in my life and we almost got scammed over five years ago. I’ve been watching Jim, Kit and you ever since and while I have nothing but upmost respect for your team and channel, you as a person have been a huge inspiration and encouragement to me. (Also, I love the blue hair)
Jesus, I'm in the same boat as you, my friend. My mother had multiple micro-strokes, and it cut blood flow to her frontal lobe. It's affected her behavior, mood swings, her ability to make logical decisions, vision issues, an inability to make sound financial decisions (money in bank, want to spend!), both long term and short term memory issues, etc. etc. I *constantly* catch her speaking to these scam callers, and she's always talking to them like they're best friends from high school. It's a constant struggle to keep her from giving away all her info.
@@Dakarn It sounds like you may need power of attorney/ guardianship, or whatever it is in your country, so that you can manage your mother's finances to protect her money. @@daniellamcgee4251 The problem is, the doctors take my mother's side and don't think she had issues. But my mother lies to them about things that go on. Hands are tied until she gets worse, which she will. WMD is irreversible.

They should make it a law, that anyone buying a gift card should be asked if they are using it to refund an over payment, and if they are, they should be supplied with a leaflet or a hotline number to explain that it is a scam and how it works, and also that a genuine company would never ever ask for payment in gift card vouchers. It wouldn't be hard to do. They could pretty much eradicate this kind of scam over night if the education was available easily for potential victims. Or put warnings on the packaging like they do with cigarettes.
i work at a grocery store and i actually do this whenever i see a elderly person buying gift cards its usually for a family members birthday but you never know

It’s the toxic culture of their ‘work’ (scam) place. I worked in legitimate call centres for years and in places with unhappy staff, rudeness to the customers was contagious. People would brag about how they mouthed off to a difficult customer and everyone is always listening. Nice places with a positive atmosphere = polite and helpful staff. They had my neighbor, an old lady in her 80’s call a cab company to take her to the bank to take out $80,000 in cash, mail half to them. The next day when she was supposed to send out the next $40k, an attentive UPS employee suspected it and called the police. Personally I don't answer my phone unless I know the caller.
Just bc your phone rings doesn't mean you have to answer it.
Block these calls.
@@Kat.Evangeline14 did you come up with that all by yourself?

I finally found a store with a sign in the gift card rack that warns against scammers, my faith in humanity is returned

I work at a Wal-mart and the amount of people we stop from being scammed is dwarfed by the amount of people who INSIST upon going through with the transaction, to the point that they will storm out of the store if we won't do it. We know they go somewhere else. Its really sad.
The sign has to detail what the likely scam procedure is, and stores won't do that because it puts a subliminal shadow over purchase for the vast majority who have legit reason for buying them.

I’ve been watching Jim, Kit and you ever since and while I have nothing but upmost respect for your team and channel, you as a person have been a huge inspiration and encouragement to me. I wish I could do anything to help but I’ve been ill my whole life and I’m trying to care for my 69yr old mother who is recovering from a stroke and has dementia. I just wanted to thank you fir showing strength and love in a horrible side of life. Sometimes people don’t understand what it’s like to struggle, especially in a ‘privileged’ country and your work brings it out and creates positivity at the same time. Thank you for what you do. (Also, I love the blue hair)
I love everything you said --- except the blue hair part. LOL
What a beautiful sentiment.
Caring for a loved one with dementia, especially frontal lobe, with mood fluctuations, is exhausting enough as it is, without them also being constantly at risk with relentless predatory scammers.
@@daniellamcgee4251 The problem is, the doctors take my mother's side and don't think she had issues. But my mother lies to them about things that go on. So getting the doctors to sign the papers to authorize the courts to give conservatorship is that much harder, even though the same doctors have written in their reports that she has white matter disease (dementia brought on by lack of blood flow to the brain) and had issues making rational decisions.

That was a nice chat there at the end, very real. you rarely get them to just be chill and just talk for real
That guy he was talking to there in the end did come come across as being honest in his dishonesty, yet him and his friends still continue to scam people. It's was as if he was still completely ok with what he was doing.
Psychopaths like these scammers
have no shame or guilt...
it's just another day's work
for these criminals! Too bad the
cops in India ignore these crimes,
but they're probably accomplices!
Yes, those cops earn money from that too, just take a bribe and continue this sh*t. Sickening
We all heard them. The money they stole from someone else was "stolen" from them too. Once the lie is told, they believe they're owed that money.
Everyone in India is on the take
.....the most corrupt country on the planet
The men that run these scam operations are making hundreds of millions USD a year and have their own private jets. In India, where cops are making the equivalent to 2-5k USD a year, it's pretty easy to buy them out.
They also use genuine call centres as a cover if anyone comes to check they just show them that call centre but behind another door or floor the scams are happening
Because of your videos I talked my mom out of a scam caller just the other day. Thank you so much. You are so appreciated.
Did anyone else notice his hat changed from "Delete There Files" to "Delete Their Files"?
I've got a feeling that the "Delete There Files" could be a collectors item. 🤣
Keep up the great work.
@@sunsetshadow Ah, thanks for the info. I've only recently come across this channel and it's been entertaining to watch what Perogi has been doing to these scammers.
He always does that, sometimes it also says "delete they're files" 🤣🤣🤣
wow I would never have noticed, you have a good eye!
Just got myself the "Delete There Files" version 😁 It's badass awesome!!
I don't want to delete here files, I want to delete there files.
It was actually pretty interesting watching a conversation happen instead of just an argument. Hearing the scammer just being honest and Pierogi actually having a civil dialogue makes you almost feel like you can relate to the person on the other end of the line.
I love this man, he just knows how to deal with these types of situations. I like it.
Only just discovered this channel... Brilliant work. These scammers deserve everything they get.
My uncle sits on the phone and reads the scammers his poetry that he writes. He sits on the phone for about an hour with them haha
that's awesome lol
I bet he has a blast writing new poetry for scammers. "Roses are red, violets are blue. You won't accept checks, so will gift cards do?"
Good for him! That's what we love to see! :)
Every minute your uncle & others occupy the scammers' time, tying up their phone lines, is a minute they can't use to cheat someone out of their hard-earned savings.
Big props to him for doing others a huge favor! :D
They give him that much time?
vogon poetry
Much respect to him for teaching them a lesson at the same time, looking out for some scammers who are genuinely desperate and need to do this to get by and getting them to come on the good side and help. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
He is the nightmare of scammers well done give them what they deserve
You're amazing, Pierogi. Hope you're feeling better! Love to you and your crew. 🇨🇦💙💜
I'm so glad you were able to take my clip to the next level!! You are brilliant! We will continue this to get them each and every time!! Keep up the great work. It is a blessing to work with you guys. You have really changed the game and make such a difference in the lives of victims! God Bless!! The future is bright!
Original video?
You started this Chappy?
@@sunsetshadow You are an angel
@@Jeffdaddy It is only fair. The scammers never fight fair, they go after elderly victims. So the minute this happened, I sent it to P with the scammer's name and number. It is not the first time and we will continue to send these on so P has a chance to call them out man to boy. We love Scammer Payback and we won't stand for these scammers to disrespect his name. Much love.
I loved your reaction when he told you to F off. That was hilarious.
I live in the UK and I walked in on my mum being scammed last week I took over the call and pressured them and demanded what the issue was considering they never tried to verify who I was I hung up if it weren't for perogi I would not have realised
@@sunsetshadow cool!!
