  • Scott shares some great catfishing tactics, baits, and really great rigs to tie up for both river and lake fishing for big cats that will work not only in the Snake RIver here in Idaho, but anywhere there are hungry catfish. It is over a span of two days, and Scott is accompanied by Jessica Caldwell for part of the adventure. There are a few clips of giant flatheads from catfishing's past in the video as well, really hope you enjoy!!

      My bigger motor is 55 lb thrust, it does fine, but I just happen to have another 30 lb thrust and I joking call them the “twin turbo’s” for getting to and from my spots a bit faster. If it’s your only source of motor, I would go for a single 80 lb thrust to get you to point A to B. And always have 2 batteries.

    • @SilhouetteOutdoors

      All of the moss collects on the swivel and when it does, the long leader allows the bait to stay out of that clump if moss on the swivel. For awhile anyways.

    • @SilhouetteOutdoors
      @SilhouetteOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      Swan Falls is alright. there are quite a few cats down there, even a few flatheads. But it gets fished pretty hard and the numbers just aren't there. Marsing and Homedale are great cat spots, but the moss is horrible! Very hard to keep it off your bait, literally islands of it are drifting down the river. Brownlee is your best bet this time of year with the still water. Lake Lowell is another good one, but I don't recommend eating them.. Try Marsing and Homedale early spring before the moss is horrible and you'll do well.

    • @SilhouetteOutdoors
      @SilhouetteOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Oh yes, I destroyed my 20 hp down by Nyssa years ago. You have to be very careful as that river will change yearly. The channel can completely move. A jet is by far the best on the Snake. And I try to always go up river in case something happens so I can drift back to the boat launch in case that happens

      If you think you could hit something in the river with an outboard, are you running in RUN mode, or TILT mode? I only use RUN in reverse. If I hit something at 20mph in my skiff my motor bounces off it instead of ripping my transom off.
