Hopefully women being among the best will become common in the next few decades, then a win or a loss by itself won't be noteworthy either way.
@@arvin9425 Well it's a bit nuanced i would say. If a 2550 GM beats Alireza it's talked about and after a month noones talks about it unless he's a prodigy (see Carlsen v Kasparov). If a 2550 female GM beats Alireza (how she just did) it gets talked about - which is fine and good - but then soon other comments and theories are being pushed up about rating bubbles and female chess which are not representative of the current situation. After all the peak of women's chess actually happened during the time of Judit Polgar - though granted we don't know what will happen in the future. So in conclusion: Whilst we should talk about the result we should be careful to draw our conclusions from single peak events (cause the source is biased - similar to survivor ship bias?)

Really good recaps lately. Narrating a chess game in a way that helps people like me appreciate it as an exciting and relatable story, not just a series of calculations, is something you excel at. IMHO this talent is your golden goose.
i mean if you can beat a 2750 at 2500 then you are very underrated i'd say and tbh the rating of the entire top 50 is inflated. the only one who has a non inflated rating is magnus i'd say

Nobody can convince me about the opposite: Alireza is the most overrated player ever. He can easily win combined games with roasted French players, but when he faces real players he is in big trouble. Does someone remember one of his games in the previous candidate tournament? One of his worst performances.

To be fair in her interview, Ju Wenjun said she simple waited for black to make a move and implied that she didn't calculate that far and that specific. But she also said that Re1 right away didn't seem good for White. So all in all, great technique and patience
Honestly well done to Eline, going from the mental despair of being 4-0 and playing A Top 10 rated player must of taken some resilience to carry on going and got the win she completely deserved with style
