I wish i watched this video before climbing in the ceiling and trying to figure out how to replace it haha! You're the man Bill, always my go to for aussie DIY
Looked at a lot of videos but they mainly showed installing. Your video was exactly what I wanted to know, the connection on the back was different but if you have any brains it is easy to work out. The main thing I wanter to know was how to get access.
I love you man! I’m 14 and I tried doing it without knowing broke a piece of the ceiling and my dad was bout to beat me but I got Phil and I was able to put it back hiding the piece
thanks for this video. We had some installed a few years ago and one was out, and none of us were electricians. Im glad i saw your video it looks easier than i thought.
Thanks so much. All the Dow lights were going and I have a Frank Spencer as a husband and said we would have to get an Electrician out. I said I’ll You Tube and did it myself!
Bro thank u. Thought it would be bloody hard wired. Guy at Bunnings told me the very old homes with halagon globes are hardwired. Good thing this was an easy fix and easy to follow. Thanks once again brother
Bloody excellent. Such a happy, positive video!!! I 'm feeling happier just having watched you! The wife's happier even the cats are smiling! Thank you!👍😎
Damn. I watched this and then went out to get some new lights with brightness and temperature control and while those are the same, the current ones aren't this kind with the normal socket in the ceiling. Oh well, I returned the lights I bought but that was annoying. Our house was built in 2016 so I assumed we would have this style. Still, the video helped me remove it and see the back of it. Until now, I assumed you had to twist.
@@billshowto you were right. I was afraid I would break the plaster because I was pulling down on the downlight so hard. I just needed to pull one side down first and it came out easier (telbix pod led downlight). Thanks
Thank you! Finally I could find replacing a led wafer light rather than replacing can to led. Anyways I have a brand new wafer light installed professionally but I didn’t know there were wafer leds with a night light built in so I’d love to replace my new led wafer with a new one that has a night light for my bathroom because it’s too damn dark at night and even during the day so it’d be great to have a constant night light to rely on. Mine doesn’t have a plug in, it’s hardwired but I think I can manage for the most part on my own. Do I need to replace the little electrical box of the older one with a box of the newer night light version or can I just clip it into the older box?
FINALLY!!! Someone showing this type of light removal. Unfortunately I just noticed mine you just twist the plastic middle light piece and there is a screw you undo and out it comes.
Thank you this was a total mystery to me as an older woman, and apart from 2 lights that are over the staircase, I probably can do them all myself! No comment on how stupid it is to have two lights above a staircase that can't be reached without specialist ladders etc., but that's another story I guess.
Thank you, this video is what I have been looking for. I will show this to my hubby.. are the led bulb available at bunning or have to go to special place?
Never seen anyone so enthusiastic about changing a light bulb :) However, very useful info!!!!!!
not a bulb Paul =}
You should be that enthusiastic when making a video... Thx for that
He lives in OZ that's why
Haha ,yeah, not dull
His enthusiasm influences independence and that’s is noble 😊
This is a perfect "How to" video tutorial. No fluff, straight to the point, clearly spoken, perfectly demonstrated. 10 out of 10.
Finally found myself an aussie diy youtuber. Thanks mate!
Y
I don't know it's so simple to do it until I watched your video. Thanks a bunch...🎉

Thank you dear. Just tried this and I was able to finally change the light of my room after it not working for almost 2 months.

Much appreciated, I’m trying to help people so they can do things them selves and save a bit of money 👍
Awesome video mate, show and straight to the point, went to Bunnings, picked up the light, all done and dusted in 10 minutes

Thank you for the video makes my life a lot easier because I have a light above my shower and you never know when they burn out
Incredible to see how easy this is, they're such a mystery from the surface
You make it looks so easy to do without damaging the ceiling around it.

Absolute legend. Thank you 😊
Seems like the clamps on yours make it easy to remove. Mine has these springs which seem tough to remove
The clamps are very similar on all types. Just takes practice 👍
