This game was my very first rpg when I was a kid and it will always be my favorite ff game. I play this through at least once a year. It made me love rpg games and a never looked back!
This is it right here. After the incredible journey Cecil and the others have been on, this track perfectly captures the intensity of the last opponent blocking the path to peace and the sense of finality that all the game's events have led up to. FFIV's soundtrack really opened me up to the incredible music RPGs have to offer and I can't thank Nobuo Uematsu enough for it. One thing I have to wonder is why Kain is in the back row in the video. XD
Kind of a mystery since he was dead most of the video but my guess is the strategy is to keep him jumping (jump damage isn't affected by back row) to avoid a tpk. That way, he can act as an emergency healer if everyone else falls while he's jumping.
@@ClintEPereira Kain is tanky enough though. He can handle endgame physical attacks just fine. Edge's defense is much lower, being a ninja and all, and should be in the back row with the girls.
@@Flegan777Even if Kain is tanky enough, it's pointless to subject him to more damage if you can just spam his ability that deals the same amount of damage regardless of position. The only time I put Kain in the front row is in the GBA and PSP version (which allow party customisation) amd I brimg *mostly* mages. Example: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Palom and Porom. In this party, I put kaim in the front row. But in the game's default party or with 2 (or less) mages, like (for example) Cecil, Yang, Kain, Porom and Palom? That dragoon is gonna get in the Back row.
@@NeoArashi That doesn't make any sense. He's designed to take hits along with Cecil in the front. There's no point to him wearing heavy armor and having high HP if he stays in the back. That just means you put Edge in the front, which is counterintuitive.
imo, the best part of the song is the section right before the loop. the reuse of the encounter theme's bassline and the melody from Battle Against the Four Fiends really makes it feel like you've come full circle. Nobuo Uematsu truly is the greatest musician of our time.
A real story: I am from the Middle East, and was around 10 years old in 1994 when Father got me my SNES. I had a handful of cool game like Zelda, Super Mario World & All Stars among other things, but then Mother returned from a visit to the USA, and got me this game (Final Fantasy II, which is really IV). I had absolutely no idea what an RPG is, and I was mesmerized by the introductions. When I got to the combat part where I need to select commands to attack enemies it blew my damn mind. I did not quit this game until I beat it in full. Somehow I later learned that I have also unlocked literally all secrets... Took me ~5 months of playing it and making a lot of mistakes in the process. That is how much I was immersed, was exploring the crap out of everything! Thanks SquareSoft, for those memories. This will forever be in the special place inside my heart for being my introduction to RPGs.
Ah, Big Bang and this theme. The only things that could bring terror to my then 13 year old heart. First RPG I played that suckered me into 3 decades worth of fabulous Role Playing Games. Thanks, FFIV!
Seems to me that the games designers intentionally made Zeromus' form ambiguous. Difficult to anthropromorphize. Check out the FFXIV version of him. It really gives much clarity as to what looking at this monstrosity would look like, up close and personal. Plus they did this song justice. 🤠
This was a bitchin final boss theme. This truly gave you a feeling that the pressure was on and the fate of the world is going to be decided here. Not to mention the background. It made me feel I was flying through the cosmos. Zeromus isn’t the hardest boss in the franchise but he sure as hell is a great one for the finale of this SNES masterpiece.
FF4 truly did have the best soundtrack The leitmotif from the hero is in this song The desperation is in it The need to save everyone Songs are not made like this anymore
That's why Zeromus had already planned and prepared everything from the beginning, being defeated and locked up by the Red Moon Crystals, while possessing Golbez and Kain.
If you really want to defeat Zeromus, once he regains his true appearance and power, Ceodore, Ursula, Leonora, Luca, Palom, Porom and the others will have to use the 8 Crystals once again.
I ended up doing exactly that with Kain tho that's because the boss wiped out the rest of my party. Thankfully I was still able to win with a series of well timed jumps.
Since his confinement on the Red Moon, Zeromus has been mocking and humiliating both Cecil and his allies, as well as all the players in the world, for their efforts.
I wonder if they made the pixel remaster of ff4 harder, which I like. On the PlayStation version of pixel remaster, big bang was doing around 2000 damage to each character lol.
The pixel remaster wasn't difficult at all until this final boss. I've played every version of IV many times over and I had a hard time keeping up with this fight on the pixel remaster- not a complaint for me as I liked the challenge, but don't expect to blaze through it like the SNES and GBA/PSP versions!

They are in DIRE need to learn what made a GREAT FF, like this game!!! FF16, I don't even know if I'm even going to play. I played about 1 hour of the demo, and I feel like that was enough. A true betrayal to the series, and to RPG's in general if you ask me. BUT, I'm big fan of the series, and SUPPOSEDLY it has a good story, so maybe when it's free or really cheap....
Imagine beating this game in 1991 when the SNES just came out and realizing how epic and grand video games can really be 🥲
My dad did. He played the first game and decided to buy and play this one as well. I followed in his footsteps. 😉
I don't have to imagine, I did it.
This game was my very first rpg when I was a kid and it will always be my favorite ff game. I play this through at least once a year. It made me love rpg games and a never looked back!

This final battle only became a completely empty and bitter victory; as Zemus, now reborn as Zeromus, has returned.
He was the only one who perceived that the 8 Crystals of the Blue Planet are losing their light without the others realizing it.
One of the best songs of Final Fantasy Story!!

I like that the dragoon was the first to go down lol
Even in a different game, years ago, they know how to floor tank.
when you heard this for the first time you instantly knew this was it, the final boss battle that would be the hardest in the game
One of the best final boss themes of all time!
One of the best games ever made, the soundtrack alone puts it at the top.
Thank you.
The arrival of the Maenads and the Creator was what facilitated his escape, after the destruction of the crystals that kept him prisoner.
It's scary to think his malice (likely) still lives on in the FF4 universe, isolated in space with Fusoya...Which was very heroic of him.
@@angrycinnabon2956Not only with Fusoya, but also with the Lunarians of the Red Moon.
