    What a great find for me! I've been struggling with motivation in my cold as ice garage. I just watched a couple of your CX500 videos and I'm back on the track. Had a half day at work today, so I cut the front mudguard down to size. I have dropped it about 20mm to close the gap to the tyre. Thanks for the inspiration. Looking forward to wiring part 3 as I need to push on with that.

      Great stuff, I'm glad you found this channel, sometimes it's that little motivation that's needed to do the jobs. part 3 of the wiring next week.

    Just wanted to say Hi and thank you for making these vids. I have a 93 Honda NVT that's been sitting in my garage for a while. I always intended to build a cafe racer from it. Your videos have given me the final push to get it started. Its now stripped and parts begining to arrive. Hoping to ride it to Brightonia in October. Good luck with your builds, all the best and thanks again.

      Excellent, I always say if these videos could inspire a handful of people my job is done. All the best with it.

    I'm always looking forward to the next episode and greatly enjoy watching your channel but today's video will give me nightmares for weeks to come - but that's not your fault. First, I'm color blind and watching what you are doing there is pure and undiluted torture. Second, watching you snip off the block connectors sends another jolt of terror through my pre-chilled veins - I'm lacking the self confidence to do something that has this air of finality to it. So this shocker video is right up there with Nightmare on Elm Street. But then, it's nice watching somebody with your courage and visual skills. Bike looks cool!

      Ha, thanks for watching this horror movie, I can imagine being colour blind and working on wires isn't much fun.

      try using sharpie to mark your wires, the different textures of glow and whatnot should help you discern them. also, working on these bikes may not always work out. but its worth every second of experience. just go for it!

    Very informational nicely done, I like that you opened the controls and traced back all the wires. Good to see you doing better. 👍

      Thanks, the alternative is to just pick one wire and touch the tester on each one but takes a lot longer, stripping it back does give you a rough insight.

    the 2 rough wires could be for like a neutral light and/or for your oil pressure going to your dials.Great build love the cx500 wanting to build one for a long time,keep up the good work

      Good call, I'll be wiring them up from the harness to don't mind getting rid of these redundant joints.

  • @velokid1
    @velokid1 6 років тому

    Well done and very helpful. I happen to be working on my CB500 wiring presently. Or more accurately, second-guessing my plan to create a new harness. Unfortunately, I already cut about 20 wires loose two nights ago. Ugh.

      Keep at it, eliminate one by one and it gets easier.

    Good to see you in better health again, and back on the unfinished projects. Very clear video. However, doesn't the control assembly come with a legenda on the used colors in the package? Or isn't there one available on the fabricators website? Seems redundend to have to take it all apart just to see what wire does what.

      It doesn't I'm afraid and it's a common problem with these after market parts that we get from online sources, it would make our lives much simpler if they did, I've had a few people asking me how I sort this issue.

    Any word on whether or not your bike is safe to use that Ballistic battery with?
    I have a 79' CX500 and read that you need a new reg/rec otherwise you run the risk of blowing the battery up.

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  6 років тому

      You will definitely need a reg/rec unit to not fry your battery on that.
