    So awesome to know you can do this on a Kahler! I've spent the better part of the last year digging up any information I could on Kahlers after spending my guitar-playing life on Floyds. I recently got my first - a 2300 I'm looking to use on a partscaster build. Your channel has singlehandedly provided more information than the rest of what all I could find on UA-cam. Keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward to learning more from your videos!

      I love when I get these comments!
      The entire goal of my channel is educating people about their guitars. Not that I think I am some guru or anything silly like that, I’m just a super nerd when it comes to guitars!
      Speaking of Kahler, I am now their guy when it comes to install and setup videos. Gary Kahler himself flew me out to his factory and gave me a five day interview for a documentary I’m working on.
      And to celebrate we are giving away a guitar! More details on my channel this Saturday!

    Back in the day I had a Flyer and replaced the cam for the pro and had set up with 9s ,the magic set up for flutter and everything else to me is one heavy spring and one regular spring and the longer arm with metal tip or the heavier arm, eventually I upgraded the whole bridge to the pro with palm lever and did the one heavy spring mod and it worked perfectly for almost 40 years now

    Never knew a Kahler could flutter? Black Magic I says , I always thought the hard tail Kahlers Megadeth used were really cool looking I’m a tinkerer and a mechanic and the Kahler and Floyd Rose are both beautiful engineering and mechanical functioning machines and machinery, equipment and tools are functional art to my eyes. In other words a full polish combination wrench is about as beautiful as a priceless painting to me and about a billion times more useful.
    Seriously I thought the Kahlers “smooth” operation would keep it from fluttering.

    • @REXYLAB
      @REXYLAB  Рік тому +3

      You Will especially like this then…
      The kahler as we know it is a combination of engineering between Gary Kahler, a farm kid that learned how to fix things to keep the farm going and Dave Storey, a mechanic that really knew cams and how they work.
      I spent 5 days at the Kahler factory and you would not believe the amount of work that goes into these things.
      Plus, Gary is always working on the next amazing thing. There are two versions of the next amazing thing that are slotted for October!

      I’m so glad my video helped you learn about a feature of your kahler. That’s the entire reason I made my channel.
      I love guitars and I truly believe setup is everything. You could have a Ferrari but if one spark plug is bad it won’t perform worth a crap.
      This is the whole reason Gary Kahler asked me to do his videos. It was such high praise when he told me I was doing what he has been meaning to do better than he could do it.
      What a compliment that is!
      As these Kahler videos come out you will know how to do absolutely everything to your Kahler to make it the best it can be.
      And the giveaway, well… that guitar is just turning into something that will be mind blowing!

So yeah, please a video about engaging a backstop on a kahler or why it is not necessary. Might include that in your big kahler vid.

    how to make a Kahler flutter: swap it for a Floyd
    jokes aside, good video!

    • @REXYLAB
      @REXYLAB  10 місяців тому +1

      It’s weird how there are two such split camps on the Kahler/floyd thing. It’s like if someone said what do you like, pizza or cheeseburgers? You can only pick one and are not allowed to like them both.
      While the Floyd and the Kahler definitely behave differently they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Personally I prefer a fulcrum to a cam but the harmonic breakup of a cam is much easier to control. They are just different tools in the toolbox.
      Plus, the Floyd isn’t even the best fulcrum design, it comes in about 4th place (in my opinion) as a Ibanez edge or a gotoh 1996T outperform the original Floyd Rose in almost every way. But, the best fulcrum by far I have ever encountered is the Kahler Steeler. And that’s the old one from the late 80s/early 90s.
      All kidding aside, great comment.
